1/4lb lactose and 2 vanilla beans at flame out

Ayy man. I'm currently making a triple ipa milkshake with mango, coconut, and sticky rice so it's technically a bit of a rice beer too. Hitting 12% on an IPA. Not even sure it's technically an IPA anymore, but it's delicious. I'm in Thailand and the recipe is based on mango sticky rice which is a Thai food staple.

You guys gotta try the Philly Sour yeast, easy Peasy. I did a ten gallon batch of David Heaths raspberry Philly Sour recipe and added lactose and split it , 5 gallon on 3lbs 0f triple berry blend (raspberry, blackberries , blueberries) and the other 5 gallons on 4lbs of Craisins and bottle of Simply Lemonade and zest and juice of 3 lemons. Definitely my favorite to date!.

I've been doing some lactobacillus pantarum co-pitching w/ kveik and that's made me similar resulting beer to kettle souring w/out all the hassle.
Can't express how much I love this channel, even though I would never drink that liquid atrocity.
I say this as I prepare to brew a peat smoked seaweed scotch ale...

Hey Guys, I think you were hinting at trying the Lallemand Philly Sour yeast. I just brewed a batch using this yeast and....Hell yeah! There is no easier way to make a sour!!! I used a very simple IPA recipe and pitched Philly Sour. Then I racked 1/2 of it into secondary on raspberry puree for a week. Its amazing either way. Super simple and spot on for a kettle sour beer. It does give a bit of the farmhouse saison woody earthy flavor. You need to give it a shot for sure. Cheers, Erik

It never gets you even close to a kettle sour. My club and myself have used that yeast for a couple years now and found that answer to be unanimous

It kinda upsets me that a sour milkshake IPA sells like crazy.
It should. It is hype bullshit. Every one of them I have had is just terrible. Sour and hops are a bad combo.
@@Jonobos Ive had some neipas which should have been juicy but lacked the sourness.. Just pair the sourness with fruity hops. And dont boil the hops too much so they dont become bitter.. But keep it juicy. Maybe have a kveik yeast strain at the upper temp range for some juicy esters..

Hey CH, digging the content. Just put this wort in my food-safe Home Depot bucket (props for the diy tips!). How long did you leave it in your fermenter before you added the raspberries and wort to the keg? And how long should it mingle in the keg before serving? Thanks man!
Probably 7-10 days, 3-4 days in the keg. Cheers!
