    The zero oxygen hop addition thing was so cool. I began thinking about something like that when I saw videos of people using magnets to keep mentos in soda bottles and only releasing them when the outside magnet were pulled. Happy to see that this is something that actually works, makes NEIPAs a lot more accessible to homebrew!

    I always do water chem before, since I'm already doing acid adjustments for mash ph. I already know that scarification drops ph a bit in the long run so I'm safe, but not bothering with additions pre and post saves a step fo sho. There is the rando chance, happened once for me that after recirc... ph dropped to 4.6 in mash and I felt I should add a tiny bit o' baking soda.

    See the video of the guy who set a trap for his porch pirate neighbor? Guy went to take a box and it exploded, made him sh*t himself.
    I've got around 9 cats on my porch, and a number of them follow my dogs and I on walks.
    Here's something I've learned/noticed. If I keep the door to my brew room shut my beer doesn't seem to ferment as well. If I then open the door and windows in that room the fermenters start bubbling. And yes the airlocks are on and have water in them. Seems to do with air pressure in the room maybe.

    Recently made an NEIPA that was my best yet and it's almost tapped in record time. It was good after a few days in the kegerator but was citrusy and a bit hop bity. After a week it smoothed out to the best tasting beer I've made. I think breweries like Sierra Nevada cold crash their Hazy Little Things for a week before packaging but the site I read that on might be a bunch of lairs.

    • @colin_g
      @colin_g 2 дня назад

      Late answer but go for it. Even if you pour a few pints a week, you'll finish it before the beer goes bad. When it comes to something super aromatic like a NEIPA, the hop flavors can get weaker over time but the beer will remain drinkable for months

    Question for you. I cold crashed my beer in a corny keg aka fermenter at 3psi for 24 hrs. Next I’m going to add gelatin to it and chill for 48 hrs at 30psi. Question is when cold crashing should I be transferring to my serving keg first or can I leave it in fermenter. And gelatin should I transfer to my serving keg first before gelatin.
