    The thumbstick test was really what surprised me. The last couple of PowerA controllers I tested usually have a bit of 'drift' out of the box (within the same range as Microsoft's own controllers) and I was expecting more of the same with this, so consider my surprise when there's *none out of the box!*
    I picked up a Lumectra myself and even on my unit, the thumbstick test produced the same results as yours. Strange how they didn't do the same on the more budget (non-RGB) friendly Advantage controllers.

      Yea, I agree the fusion 2 was bad with out of the box drift. The 3 was ok, but these were perfect.

    hey man, first time watching any of your videos. I recently got an Advantage wired controller without the RGB lighting and let me tell you, I was surprised. Complete opposite of almost everything you pointed out on the RGB lighted one. It's not raised, the buttons are not loose at all upfront, the buttons in the back are tight with no wiggle room making it NOT feel cheap as some others. I have a couple of Elite series 1 and 2, fusion and fusion 3 and several Microsoft regular controllers. My elite series 2 has that annoying stick drift so I had been using the fusion pro for a while and kept swapping in and out from wireless to wired. Then I decided to try a $32 advantage wired controller and opted against the lighted one and I'm impressed. It's really lightweight so that might put some people off, but it does not feel cheap at all and if I'm being honest, it feels almost exactly like my original series s controller apart from being wired.
    I was worried the RGB version would be a bit "cheap" feeling such as loose buttons and noise, so thank you for pointing that out in this video. I'm really shocked at how good the Advantage feels and works. I got big hands, and the buttons are situated comfortably. The only downside is the audio jack, but you know how that is. I play Call of Duty multiplayer and warzone as well as Fortnite, so I'm really demanding and picky on controllers and this one is legit.
    Appreciate the insight. Off to watch your how to connect a mic directly to Xbox. Been struggling with that for a while now.

      I forgot to add that the main reason I went out and got a budget controller is that I have a 10-year-old and 7-year-old each with their own consoles and extremely clumsy with their controllers and even worse when they sit at my desk and move stuff around. My elite is missing RB, the fusion pro had normal wear and tear and the fusion 3 had its trigger broken off when I was raising my desk to standing height and the cord was caught pulling it down. 75-inch drop and broke the trigger completely off. So, I wanted something that wouldn't hurt but got the job done if it were to be unlucky. But its currently my favorite so far.

      Lol, I get wanting budget controllers for the little ones. I have a nephew that goes through them like candy and expects me to hook Him up every time.... I do, lol. But thanks for the comment. Welcome to the community. Hopefully, I'm able to help you out. Glad you like the controller.

      Personally, I'd save my money and go buy an rgb strip separately. You get more for your buck.

    So the back buttons function as a "mimic button" right? But is it also its own button if you want it (for the xbox)? So you could add 2 extra entries to the button mapping.

    • @PughsReview
      @PughsReview  9 месяцев назад +1

      They can only be set as other button on the controller for example xyba.

    • @MatthiasHeijnsbroek
      @MatthiasHeijnsbroek 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@PughsReview ah that's a bummer. I would like a button or two extra. Is there a controller that does that?

    • @PughsReview
      @PughsReview  9 месяцев назад

      @MatthiasHeijnsbroek I think I understand your question. You asking for example a keyboard has f1 though f12 but some programs allow you to bine up to f20 as extra keys. If that the case I'm not sure I don't think so to be honest I think everything I've reviewed only allows you to bind physical Controller keys to them but that would he nice to have for certain task.

    • @MatthiasHeijnsbroek
      @MatthiasHeijnsbroek 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@PughsReview well... kinda. I would like to use the two extra buttons as two extra buttons. So you have the original buttons + the two on the back to add two extra, like: open a world map for the rear left button, and rewind time for rear right button when playing Forza Horizon. While all the other buttons do their own things like: gas, e-break, look back, shift up, etc

    • @PughsReview
      @PughsReview  9 месяцев назад

      @MatthiasHeijnsbroek I mean they already have key right so for example. Playing a game I want to bring the map up on that already has a key, so I would just make the back button that key. Like if Y made you rewind in foriza, then you would just set the back buttons a Y. Or am I just missing it? lol. I only ask so I can be on the look out in future videos thanks

    Me and a Walmart employee just watched this video in the gaming aisle. I got tired of drifting sticks after 6-12 months (3 controllers in 2 yrs).
    Only options was between PDP and PowerA, both in the past have failed me. (Disclaimer: I'm on PC and bought both) But your review help assure us that this particular PowerA advantage model should be solid. I personally like the space between the buttons, as in the past, my A-Button would receive heavy "dry" friction to the point the paint rubs off and the button will random get stuck during gaming. (for PowerA ctrllr) And PDP will short circuit, while both controllers left stick will eventually drift. This review was thorough!!! Appreciate it! About to use it now...
