    Good review. I would've never purchased an elite 2 but it came with my day 1 bundle for my series X. It's been great and now, with over 2 years of use it's starting to get stick drift. That's after hundreds of hours in COD, warzone, Halo, splitgate and other 1st person shooters. Definitely getting another one but keeping my fingers crossed that I'm lucky again.

    So I’ve owned the Power A fusion, Razor Wolverine Ultimate and Elite Series 2.
    Power A - Used for around 4 month then broke - For the price it’s ok, but for a semi serious gamer they are cheap and feel cheap. The button inputs feel squishy, analogues are awful and they have so many issues with game audio and chat audio. For a starter controller they are ok but I wouldn’t buy another.
    Razor Wolverine Ultimate - Used for 13 months - Amazing controller with great features, the 6 extra buttons are great for games like PUBG and Warzone. The analogues do feel a bit loose but not that bad. If you’ve got small hands you’ll probably struggle to use all 6 buttons. KontrolFreeks don’t fit on this controller. Biggest issue is the back buttons are only secured by 2 plastic clips and mine snapped. Overall decent but probably not for everyone.
    Elite Series 2 - Used for 12 months, still using - I haven’t had any reliability issues with mine. The best overall controller for features, comfort, feel. The App is great if you play multiple games like me. The Personally I’d recommend this controller but it’s true that loads of people have had issues. If you buy the warranty, they’ll replace the controller if it breaks for 2 years.

      @obiiieeee 2 года назад +3

      @@BLiTz5 you may already know but i just discovered you can recalibrate the analog sticks/whole controller without plugging into anything or using any program:
      unplug controller. hold down start select and middle xbox button while plugging back in. controller light will blink. rotate left stick clockwise 3 times. Then the right stick. Then press both triggers 3 times. Then press y and down dpad together to have light stop blinking which means calibration is done

    • @JohnDoe-ip3oq
      @JohnDoe-ip3oq 2 года назад +5

      @@BLiTz5 Hall Effect isn't a brand, it's a technology. Some controllers ship with hall effect parts, while others you can buy replacement parts. Don't throw out your old controllers, just mod them with hall effect sensors. The big companies deliberately don't use hall effect so the joysticks wear out and you have to replace the controller. Well, screw them and mod the joystick instead, so you never have to buy a new controller. The technology is getting popular enough that big companies will have to start selling at least premium products with hall effect, or people will question it. I started hearing about the tech with steam deck modding, mostly because it's simple and allowed by valve, then I saw people mod other controllers with it, and finally you can just buy controllers with hall effect already installed. It makes no sense to keep buying elite controllers just because of drift. Break the cycle, switch to hall effect.
      PS. If this subject interests you, do a video on it. It needs to get more publicity so it becomes mainstream, and controller issues go away. The subject is riding the edge of becoming exponentially popular, and I guarantee videos on it will get views. It's basically super powered clickbait that's legit. Probably get bonus numbers depending on how in depth it is too.

    PowerA Fusion 2 owner here. For starters, it is a very good controller and worth the price, however there are some drawbacks. I've had mine since about January 3rd 2022, we're now in 11th September 2023, during that time period I've had some issues. Firstly one of the triggers for some reason dislocated itself, it so instead of pressing down it was veering to the side a bit. So Ihad to find a shop that could fix the controller cus as far as I'm aware there are no PowerA places here in Brazil that you can send your controller to get fixed. So bare that in mind, if you're outside of US or Europe, I don't think you'll be able to get your controller fixed quickly.
    Secondly, the audio in the controller has basically disappeared now, the audio input port is bent to the left so the audio is very low and just not right. Granted I have dropped the controller a few times, from standard sitting position height so nothing that couldn't happen with any of us, but I'd say like 10 times max, didn't drop it that much.
    One more thing, if you're someone who plays racing games or maybe sims like asseto corsa you might not like this controller, I personally hated that, the triggers are way too loose, they're very soft to press conpared to the stantard Xbox controller, that means it's very difficult to have a fine control over the throttle and brake of the car or motorcycle. So bare that im mind, if that doesn't bother you, go for it

    8bitdo makes a lot of controllers aimed at retro gaming, they work with Retroarch, Switch, PC and Xbox, they're decent controllers and if you play Retrogames like the NES/SNES on the Switch their controllers are a good option for that. You have some really good options at all price points in your list. I however don't think I could bring myself to spend $220+ on a Scuf controller no matter how good they are, that's just a bit too much money for me to spend, now if the price dropped to say that of the MS Elite 2 controller, then I might be interested.

    As a Turtle Beach Recon controller user for about 6-7 months, I can say that the controller itself is a pretty good controller for its price range.
    It’s won’t give you a competitive edge like the others will, not by a mile, however it certainly gives a lot of bonus features that other controllers may not have, especially over the standard Series X controller.
    The controller itself feels light to pick up which is a little telling from the price range, but given that it doesn’t have a battery pack in and it’s purely a wired controller that makes sense. For me personally, I prefer a little weight to my controllers but if you like having a lightweight controller then this one will feel perfect for you.
    The back buttons for me less responsive than I’d like them to be, you almost have to press them in to get the button press, but the positioning of them is very good and I’ve rarely ever misclicked them. However you do get 4 button profiles with this controller which is a great benefit if you play multiple games but also like using the back buttons
    The audio settings on the controller is selling point of this controller. As a mainstream headset company it comes as no surprise that they will give the most options for audio than any other controller. The audio settings are great, you can isolate audio between gameplay and party so you can either have louder gameplay audio and quieter party audio or vice versa or just have all of one. There’s even a button that helps to boost overall audio that much more.
    I will say that the feel of the controller is good, not the best however it gets the job done. The grip is meant to be some sort of cooling grip that keeps your hands cool however my hands still feel hot after playing for a little while, if not hotter than they were on my previous controller.
    The Omni D-Pad for me personally, I’m not a fan of because whenever I press fully left, right, up or down, it can sometimes naturally go to the corners which can offput gameplay. However this could be something I’m doing, but I personally like the standard D-Pad with 4 directions, or maybe a Omni D-Pad that’s better made.
    Overall, I would give the Turtle Beach Recon controller a 7/10, the audio settings really do sell this controller and they all work great, they’ve helped me a lot, however the back buttons could be a little more responsive and the D-Pad could be changed, but for the price of the controller it is a great controller and so much better than getting a standard one.

Then i noticed the paddles on the back noticeably the lower right, which was my reload or shift up, started to have play in the hinge or the little knob that pushes the tiny green button started to wear to the point i was pressing it multiple times for it to recognise. The powerA LED controller fuckin blows when it comes to Mic's cause half the time the controller will short circuit and loss all audio

  • @joshuaroman6479
    @joshuaroman6479 Год назад

    I've had 3 different PowerA spectra wired controllers have audio issues. Something weird will happen- the controller will stutter, the RGB gets reset to the default, and then all of the sudden the audio is hyper bass-boosted and distorted, so I cannot use it for game audio or chat. I've swapped cables, used it on different xboxes, and every time it's the internal mechanism in the controller itself that seems to just die. Anyone else had this issue, or know ways to fix it? It's happened three times. I use a SteelSeries Arctis headset. Headset is working fine and has been tested on my phone and laptop and isn't the issue.

    • @xmazzix
      @xmazzix Год назад

      I had this happen to me. I found that after the controller flickered and the lights reset and audio got all messed up, that it had actually reset all of the sliders in the Xbox party audio settings.
      Try starting an Xbox party, scrolling down to options, click audio settings and then pull the sliders back to sensible positions.

    Ur spot on about the Elite Series 2… it’s hands down the most gucci, feature packed controller on the market, but the quality control is abysmal!!! I’m on my 3rd or 4th Series 2 (I lost count) and I think I went through 2 of the OGs. The price of one of these is actually around $230, because a protection plan is a must!!! Ive had shoulder buttons break, buttons stick, and out of the box stick drift. For this price, I can’t accept any of those issues, so I took the first three back to Best Buy. No wonder they may have stopped offering protection!

    I have the 8BitDo, which I like to use for FPS. Only problem is the paddles cancel each other out when pressed simultaneously. For example I have crouch on left paddle and throwing grenades on right paddle, which do not work at the same time. Idk if this was a problem when I first used it at the time of unboxing.

    I can speak for the Razer Wolverine Ultimate, it definitely is a different shape/feel vs the Xbox og controller, but something you can get used to. The overall and long term quality is very good especially vs the Xbox Elite controller(my elite didn't last a year), the Razer didn't and still doesn't have any stick drift(at least mine) after a couple of years of moderate to heavy usage, the kind of quality you expect for something in this price range. I haven't tried many aftermarket controllers, but this one is definitely my favorite so far. Two thumbs up🎮👍👍.
