Great video, Mike and Linda. I am traveling to Siem Reap soon and your video is a great help for me prior to my trip there. Thanks and enjoy your travels.
Yes PassApp is name of the app that book a Tuk Tuk 🛺. I think you are referring to the French word remorque? But you are right that the small 3 wheeler is commonly referred to as a PassApp. . Thank you for watching our videos 🙏🏼
@@mahoneytravels oh yeah, for sure, it’s the traditional French derived name. But before a few years ago, there were none of the new ‘metal box’ ones that started with PassApp. But, yeh, you can choose a ‘tuk tuk’ of the old stye on Pass App too. No biggie. Nice video, thanks for posting!!!!
Just departed SR last week. In my opinion this new airport is a waste of space and money. On arrival our Singapore Airline flight was the only plane on the tarmac. Give me the old Airport any day. Might be worth noting that after 7 trips to SR I have always packed my laptop, camera's and mobile phone in my suitcase. Now they tell me it must go in my carry on luggage
I agree I have been about 10 times and old airport was of course far more convenient. I fly with Singapore Airlines all the time too and now they only have the 10 40am flight out not the 4pm flight so now you got to travel a hour and leave early
Yes, this new airport was planned, constructed, and financed by China about 10 years ago when chinese charter flights were expected to be the big business for a new airport. Since then, things have changed drastically for the middle-class economy in China. Having an airport with 23 gates at an "end destination " is way over the roof. The old airport would have done the job for the next 50+ years as a far more convenient arrival/departure spot for Siem Reap. Maybe the only positive thing is that no cambodian money has been spent at SAI.
Assuming you’re referring to the fact the old airport was a great location in town and needed an update and they built the new one a 1 hour drive from Siem Reap. In that regard yes it was a huge waste of money and inconvenience to locals and tourists alike. Thank you for watching our channel.

We appreciate your feedback and thank you for the compliments safe travels. I’m glad we could be of help.
Looks like you rented out the entire airport. Just like Elvis rented out movie theaters. LOL. 🛩️
Just a small note; you got a passapp, not a tuk tuk. Tuk tuks are larger and much more comfortable, the traditional tuk tuk style.

We appreciate you watching our channel.
Surprised you didn’t mention the price for the tuktuk to/from the airport. Guessing $15
Yes that is correct 👍
Don’t tourists also get tax back like when you depart Thailand.
That is the VAT tax and that is for a separate type like purchases, the Cambodian people get $7 US when they leave their country
Where are you two flying to?✈❤
We flew to Bangkok for some a nice weekend getaway it's so convenient and close 40 minute flight 🙏

We agree with you on that 100% the old airport was convenient and just needed to be refurbished 👍

No passengers line up.
Sometimes there is but the airport's very slow and very efficient at the same time so the lines move quick 🙏
A great show off but a waste of money and resources IoI
