I have just arrived here and I used a taxi but it was no faster than the bus, and when I factor in the tip I gave it would have been much much cheaper catching the bus.

FYI, the airport is BOT(Build Own Tranfer) project. logically, it's the Chinese's for now.

I can’t believe they built the new airport so far out of town an hour away! What were they thinking? The old airport was perfect.

High building is not allow near the temple site, and the plane also not allow to hover above the temple too. so that might be the reason.

Just seems extortionate. My flight from Hanoi would only be about $90usd. The taxi is 1/3 of the cost of the flight there? Crazy.

Yeah, That's why I think the bus option is the best one. Once you're out of the airport everything becomes cheap.

Hi, bought my ticket at the ticketing booth onsite. Not sure how or if they have online booking.

The airport is a major flop. Hardly any flights coming or going and compared to other international airports it already looks very dated. I live in Siem Reap and I go to the airport in Phnom Penh. Unfortunately that airport is going to be replaced soon most likely with another failure.
