Techo Takhmao International airport will replace the existing Phnom Penh International Airport as the city's main airport and is expected to cost around $1.5 billion.

So you mean that now some japanese investors are helping with the costs about this airport?
The things according to the families, who is living in the villages and lost their Land feels very sad to me, even if it is necessary to have finally a bigger airport.
From my understanding, some Japanese firms are considering investing but no deals have been signed yet.
It is sad about the locals who have lost land but I guess with no title deeds it may have opened the floodgates to a lot of claims.
Ok I see. For me it is just good to know that there will be a bigger airport, so I can fly next time directly without stop to cambodia 😄
But nevertheless, there should be a better solution for the people as well. New homes, good infrastrukture, access to electricity and basics need such as schools, supermarket and medicine...

What is the point of this huge airport in the middle of nowhere when its not even close to Angkor or the capital?
Even the new large Angkor airport is not getting enough users then expected due to it being a bit far from Angkor.
This is city airport 😂. Siem Reap already has new airport. The location not even far from city. The project for expanding city and airport.

In the thumbnail image of the video the map marked the location of the airport in Stung Saen. So the video creator made a false clickbait map. For me I thought the thumbnail was true so I thought why build an airport there.
Having said that new Angkor airport is still too far from Siem Reap.
It's 30km away. The airports of Paris, Rome and many other major airports are built in the metro peripheries so there is less noise impact and less risk to buildings and other infrastructure.
Among countries stuck in China's debt trap, Cabodia takes advantage of it most effectively

Cos you are thai ? I am Indonesian american. During my 1st trip in thailand, Most thai people there always told me all negative points and scared thkngs about Cambodia and Cambodian . I decided to experienced there, the fact I had seen were oppositely as most yutubers and tourists found that all fake. Cambodian are so lovely, polite, friendly, kind and always smile. Cambodia are safer and more hornest than some asean deveopted counntries like Vietnam and thailand. As one of tourists experienced there , Now I got the real reason and answer who are bad and good, who are fake and original one, who are civilized and uncivilised people , who are dignified and undignified. I think that your country is just richer than Cambodian in term of Econimomic as your country have been in peaceful and development for many hundred years ...but Cambodian are higher and richer than thai people in good attitute , personality, hornest, morality, dignity and humanity.
