    The airport looks nice as you approach. Like the green and red lights on the escalator, just in case. Mini van was a good deal. I like the electric car option, quite cheap for 4 people. P.S. I don't think Jeremy can skulk. Cheers

    I'm envious! If I was there I would of done the same thing and just show up to be part of the "history" of the first flights coming into the new airport. I love how Jeremy just found a way to bypass "security" and make his way in. I really appreciate you going through the options for transportation as I will be there the first week in December. I usually have a friend pick me up but because of the distance and cost I will probably just go to the hotel by myself. With the old airport, many hotels offered free airport pickup, but now I wonder if a lot of the more budget friendly hotels won't offer that anymore. I suppose as time goes on, the kinks will be worked out and the transportation options will expand. Great video as always!

    Wonderful coverage as always. It's good to know so many transport options are opening up! Would you suggest making use of the currency exchange booth at the airport, or go to ABA in town? Thanks!

    • @ForRiel
      @ForRiel  10 месяцев назад +11

      Will you be bringing USD? If so, you can open an ABA account as soon as you have a rental agreement and deposit it as USD into there. Then you can withdraw in Riel as you go, or transfer USD via ABA for the bigger stuff.

      @@ForRiel I was thinking of bringing about $600 USD to take care of the rent, deposit, and other initial expenses but want to do as much in Riel as possible. I'm certainly planning on getting an ABA account as soon as possible, but was hoping to pay those initial expenses in Riel if I can.

Some expats in the Philippines have a club and they travel the islands some. Overnight trips sometimes on ferries between islands.....Very curious if any are private owned in Siem Reap just for personal transportation ? That's what I'd like for hauling things & groceries instead of a scooter. Also for when it rains ?

    Nice reporting, guys. Based on the early reports of 60 km trips, I was already to forgo any future SR trips. But the generous transit options into town have changed my mind. What was the run time from SR to the airport, or vice-versa? It was pretty hard to beat 20 min runs from the old airport.

      Other countries have proximity airport issues too. Mexico has a few with up to 2 hours travel and few options. -- My hope is it discourages some travelers as it does in some Mexican cities - keeping the rent prices low in the future.
