I remember the first time I went there Pol Pot was alive . He was camping to the west . The streets were dirt. There was only one wester style hotel and only one foreign guest , who we all talked about.. Except for the rag tag army , nobody was about . It was delightful

“Back in the day” I used to take the miserable 6 AM train from Hualamphong Station, third class to Aranyaprathet at the Thai/Cambodian border. Hopefully it didn’t arrive too late, which meant you’d be stuck in godawful Poipet, Cambodia overnight. Then you’d squeeze into the back of a pickup truck with about 20 Khmer people. The roads were unbelievably bad back then. You’d have to drive through rice paddies with orange paddy water spilling into the truck because the bridges were still blown up from the Khmer Rouge days. If you got to Siem Reap before 6 PM, you were lucky! But man….what an adventure. I still can’t believe Siem Reap has an international airport now.

Cambodia should have not been suffered so much if Thailand took over the whole country way back then because of their leadership. What a shame how Pol Pot turned the country upside down. I lost most of my family members from 1975 to 1979 during the genocide. Look at Thailand today comparing to Cambodia. I'm speechless!
I love your country Khmer Minsota. Your people are so hospitable, and one of the most welcoming I’ve ever met. The brutal Khmer Rouge regime was absolutely devastating. I saw ‘The Killing Fields’ when I was 8 years old, and have been to Tuol Sleng twice. My heart goes out to all those such as yourself who have lost loved ones. Yet it is the resilience, tenacity and strength of your people who have brought Cambodia to what it is today. Respect.
BIG Mistake in your information !!!! Cambodia does NOT require Vaccine or PCR test for entry !!!! And quarantine Not required if Rat test is negative. Cambodia airport only does $5 Covid RAT test. Nothing more.

Just did it no problems … visa on arrival too easy . Just make sure you have a pen on the plane for the 3 forms

You can get your re-entry permit at DMK ?
Yes, once you clear customs you can ask for the reentry. It was really easy, took only 5 minutes and cost 1200 thb for a single reentry.
