We tour the check-in area, immigration, departure lounges, arrival procedures, location of visa on arrival counter, and much more! We spent several hours at the airport as part of the official Airport Rehearsal event on Wednesday 11 October 2023. Watch this video and find out what to expect when you arrive!

I don't have a sense of how many there are, and it's very fluid, too. Some people stay here several months out of each year. Easily hundreds, possibly more....

What type of items did you get taken ? I like to bring art home when I travel so this is a bit of concern for me
It was only pretend. This was a rehearsal ahead of the official opening of the airport. As long as you aren't looting from the temples (which of course you wouldn't!) you will be fine. Thanks for watching.

No, they aren't allowing tuktuks to go out there. As far as we know, the options are the shuttle bus or a private car. Thank you for watching!

One hour ride and 12.5 Dollar is not too bad compared to other international airports! Thanks for participating and sharing! So we won't get lost when we come......

I agree. Melbourne Tullamarine Airport Australia built many years ago was 1 hour from the city back then.
1 hour compared to 10 minutes isn't good. $12 compared to $2 isn't good.
They're working on reducing and limiting the price scales base on distance. Every thing needs time for full completion ✌️
transportation services in the airport costs $ 35 per car and $ 40 per bus or $ 8 per person.

Yes thanks guys. I received an email from Lufthansa yesterday that the Singapore - Siem Riep section of my flight next year was canceled and now re-booked to land at the new Siem Riep International airport. I was kinda expecting that so all good. Looks nice and top drawer that they do these test runs and shows a pride in wanting to feel good and customers feel good arriving and departing. What a lovely day as well, late August here in Hamburg so grey raining dismal weather around 12°c. I wont miss this at all :o)
It's beautiful here at the moment, we highly recommend coming this time of year and staying a little longer.
Spare a thought for tuk tuk guys in Siem reap...

Hi Claire/Jeremy, Phnom Penh Post has it opening officially on 1st December 2023....??🤔🤔 Doesn't look like it twill be handling many flights from the 16th October, surely?? I'm back there on 15th Nov🙂🙂🇰🇭
It opens on the 16th October but the official opening ceremony is scheduled later in the year.
I always expect a cavity 🦷 search when I go to the airport, so I find it helpful to practice the day before.

They have cut out the $1 and $5 but apart from that no news. But honestly Riel is far easier to use .

I hope so too! It was beautiful and clear as we had a storm in the night. Everything is so green and lust at rhe moment.
With nearly an hour commute to the airport I don’t think it would be worth it to take the flight to pp rather than the bus especially with the $12.50 charge. I would imagine their most popular flights will be to Bangkok, Saigon, and Hanoi.
We would never fly from SR to PP. $16 for a luxury bus, but we don't really care about how long it takes.
@@ForRiel How are the bus drivers here? I lived in Thailand for so many years and Thai bus drivers can scare the 💩out of you!

Beautiful mountains…didn’t think SR have mountains… not so far from town… Taiwan, Soul, Korea, and other large cities around the world have similar distances as they expand..
That Kulen Mountain range. We haven't been yet but hoping to go soon.

Hey guys thanx for this! I just booked a visa run today for bkk next week and tuk tuk drivers are telling me $20-$25 to the airport. Any info on overnight parking my scooter there?
A bus transfer is $12.50. Bike or car parking will be coming as it's a good little earner for not much effort.

I don't think the distance from the city to the airport is a problem. Most international airports are some distance away from their respective cities these days.
Very true and transportation into town will become cheaper with more competitors.
Moving the airport further away drastically complicates matters for the exact people SR is trying to attract- those who have more money than time. It's almost a deal breaker given the problems with road safety etc.

Agreed. Most tourists expect to travel some way from an airport to their destination and the prices for transport are pretty reasonable.
