Fair enough, after hearing some discussions, I've since decided that it's better to start at 20. If the age gap is significant, it seems way worse if they're still a teenager and the maturity level of the average filipina at 18 is something to avoid in general.
Sure, some people always have an opinion (usually negative) about how someone else is living, but the closer I get to retirement age the less I care. We’re all headed to the same place and once we are dust none of this will matter.
The aspect of "is there much to talk about" that I constantly think about... is that as I'm aging above 50, I don't care about someone knowing what I know. I want to expand... I'm tired of what I know, I want to learn Bisaya, I want to learn about how Philippinos live... I don't want to talk about anything I did while I'm in my home country. I want to buy a scooter, I don't care about film references. So the issue of what to talk about, as a generality, I think, applies less as you get older because many who migrate to another country, have already lost a certain amount of interest in what they've spent their life doing so far. This is the case for me at least - I am engrossed in a new life and want to mold into it.
I have an IQ of 137, so I very much doubt I'd find a Filipino on my intellectual level, unless dating a high professional, so it'd fun fun fun for me 😊
It's so refreshing dating a younger woman who hasn't been beaten up by life yet. It makes me feel like I'm getting a reset in my life with opportunities that weren't available when I was younger. Mid 30's seemed like the sweet spot for me, old enough to know what they want but still young enough to have fun and energy.
After two awful divorces with woman around my age (had a child with the first one) and then trying the American dating scene which basically is (you will have value only until and as long as I decide so) , I did some research (we finally had social media by then) , I discovered a universal theme that the happiest married men in long term marriages from around the world were those married to a filipina. I did go over there first because you should do that first and it is a requirement for the visa of bringing her here to marry. We've been married 14 years and it was the best decision I could have made. There is a 25 year difference and many people here don't like it but that's the price of contentment.

Finding your soulmate is always a challenge. For some reason, I can date anywhere, any age group. I used to be very shy and introvert, but after I divorced my first wife, at 37 years old, I had numerous girlfriends from all over the world, from 15 years younger to 10 years older. For some reason, it falls natural to me to date in Europe, US or Asia. With that said, I had a Chinese girlfriend who was a nuclear engineer, extremely smart and very beautiful. I would say we had about 50% of things in common, but she had an issue with her ex and their son, which always came between us. The next was a 15 year younger woman from Germany. We had at least 70% of things in common and we were together for 3-4 years. After that, I had a Thai girlfriend. She was the most beautiful....ever. What I want to say is, it does not matter how old you or she is, if you have 100% or 20% in common, if she is Filipina, Thai or European, the chemistry is the key to a healthy relationship. Once you have that, everything else is not important. Never care what others think. Always see the positive part of things. When I was together with the Thai girlfriend and we traveled the world, she always looked amazing. So, when we were out and people looked at us, I knew they were looking at her. I was thinking, "Yep, she is with me....suckers;-)". That is what you should think, "Yep, she is with me..." and be happy, don't care what others think.
my wife, five years my junior, passed when she was 45 in 2012 and i was 50. in 2013 i met my last american gf, a 21 year old, in the gym here in the US. for some reason she was drawn to me, and what i initially thought was just going to be a fortuitous roll in the hay, turned into a 4 1/2 year relationship. to this day, she was the most unique individual i've ever met, and we never once had an issue finding things to talk about, as we were both from the same upper middle socioeconomic class. we worked out together, traveled the world together, had a robust time in the bedroom, and did all the other usual couple activities. sure, occasionally someone would make an off handed comment, but really, i couldn't care less. i've been in quite a few more age gap relationships with mixed results, but seeing how this is just a comment section, that's all for now. 😅

I'm 53, but look late 30s, recently had a run on the Filipina dating site scene. I can tell you that having any kind of meaningful conversation with someone under the age of 22 is near impossible. If all you are looking for is arm candy or someone to take care of you but doesn't really care about you then go for it, plenty out there. I did find the one I connect with, she is 35.
I meet a girl who was funny loving and great to be with. When I first meet her I had a few beers in a loud bar and I thought she said she was 33 years old. A few days later I booked us a flight and shocked to learn from her ID she was only 23 ( 22 years younger ! ) . I agree that most men 50 and above probably would not share similar interests with 18 or above. But with size differences should not matter with most. I am 53 but 6’7” and Christine is 41 and 4’11”. I'm 21 dated my Filipina since we're both 17 after visiting the Philippines. Every old guy with a Filipina sticks out like a sore thumb. I dislike that it's the norm to the point I was told I was a "Breath of fresh air" because they're not used to having a young foreigner visiting the Philippines.
I have always found that generally Filipinas are very flirty, but that doesn't mean want anything from you. They are just more open to talk to foreigners but often as I am sure you must have experienced often tell you what they think you want to hear.

I personally think 20 years is a maximum age gap, but that is just me . Back in the 18 hundreds in Britain and in the United States, it wasn't unusual for a man who was mature and established to marry a teenage girl younger than 18 through an arranged marriage setting. This was all done between the man and her father under contract, and it worked out beneficial for both parties. He was able to provide for a family, and she was able to have many children building a legacy for the man. In the philippines its kind of the same as many of the Filipinas have been disenfranchised by the local boys and have come to realize that a foreign husband can not only make beautiful babies but will stay and take care of them.

In the west, I would usually date someone that was within 5 years of my age, so I am definitely dating younger by 16 years. Where I do disagree with you is that Filipinas don't age well after 35. My gf is absolutely beautiful and I see lots of attractive older women in the philippines.

I am 60 and have a Fiancé that is 40. If I was dating, I would prefer a Filipina over 35. But, I realize there are some younger psychologically mature women that can also be good wives, if you live in the Philippines with them. But, they probably want to have children which is unlikely with me since I had a TURP surgery 6 years ago.

Late comment. Age gap relationships have been going on for decades if not centuries, and not just between young Filipinas and foreign men. It's not a new thing. Stop making such a big deal over nothing. If people have a problem with it, they are the ones with the problem. In the 70's my godfather who had just retired in his 60's went back to the Phillippines to get married. He found himself a 28 year old school teacher. Married and brought her back to Hawaii. She took care of him till he passed in his 80's. Gave him 3 children. He was happy and satisfied even though he knew he would not live to see his children graduate high school. And she did not remarry once he had gone. She loved him.

Another stat the Phil's Special Ops carry more weight per their own KG weight than any other force in the world in their backpack supplies etc.. They also have the highest death rate for those making the elite force with training measures that even Israel, USA, UK and others fail at being able to do.

As regards to age, my experience (in general) with Filipinas is that if they are 40+ years old, they have a variety of difficulties that you may wish to avoid. 1) They age poorly perhaps due to bad dental work or too much time in the sun; 2) Have been married before and thus only separated, not divorced so beware the law! 3) Have a child or four. A younger Filipina would have a smaller chance of having the same difficulties listed above, though they could have their own immature weaknesses.

For some reason, it falls natural to me to date in Europe, US or Asia. With that said, I had a Chinese girlfriend who was a nuclear engineer, extremely smart and very beautiful. I would say we had about 50% of things in common, but she had an issue with her ex and their son, which always came between us. The next was a 15 year younger woman from Germany. We had at least 70% of things in common and we were together for 3-4 years. After that, I had a Thai girlfriend. She was the most beautiful....ever. Even though she was already 40 years old, she looked like 20. I always said, "You can wear a trash bag as a dress and still look better than any woman in this city". We had about 20% of things in common. There were at least 20 more in between from all over the world, with 20+ years younger to older, however, none made the cut. With my current wife from the US, married now for 8 years, 10 years older and black, we have maybe 20% in common, yet, we have a very happy relationship. Not once in the 10 years we have been together we yelled at each other. We kind of know what the other person thinks or feels and what state each other is in. It kind of flows naturally.
What I want to say is, it does not matter how old you or she is, if you have 100% or 20% in common, if she is Filipina, Thai or European, the chemistry is the key to a healthy relationship. Once you have that, everything else is not important. Never care what others think. Always see the positive part of things. When I was together with the Thai girlfriend and we traveled the world, she always looked amazing. So, when we were out and people looked at us, I knew they were looking at her. I was thinking, "Yep, she is with me....suckers;-)". That is what you should think, "Yep, she is with me..." and be happy, don't care what others think.

my wife, five years my junior, passed when she was 45 in 2012 and i was 50. in 2013 i met my last american gf, a 21 year old, in the gym here in the US. for some reason she was drawn to me, and what i initially thought was just going to be a fortuitous roll in the hay, turned into a 4 1/2 year relationship. to this day, she was the most unique individual i've ever met, and we never once had an issue finding things to talk about, as we were both from the same upper middle socioeconomic class. we worked out together, traveled the world together, had a robust time in the bedroom, and did all the other usual couple activities. sure, occasionally someone would make an off handed comment, but really, i couldn't care less. i've been in quite a few more age gap relationships with mixed results, but seeing how this is just a comment section, that's all for now. 😅

If all you are looking for is arm candy or someone to take care of you but doesn't really care about you then go for it, plenty out there. I did find the one I connect with, she is 35.

I meet a girl who was funny loving and great to be with. When I first meet her I had a few beers in a loud bar and I thought she said she was 33 years old. A few days later I booked us a flight and shocked to learn from her ID she was only 23 ( 22 years younger ! ) .

I have always found that generally Filipinas are very flirty, but that doesn't mean want anything from you. They are just more open to talk to foreigners but often as I am sure you must have experienced often tell you what they think you want to hear.

As I got older, I found it more desirable to have younger partners, because with most older ones I couldn't get excited enough.
I personally think 20 years is a maximum age gap, but that is just me . Back in the 18 hundreds in Britain and in the United States, it wasn't unusual for a man who was mature and established to marry a teenage girl younger than 18 through an arranged marriage setting. This was all done between the man and her father under contract, and it worked out beneficial for both parties. He was able to provide for a family, and she was able to have many children building a legacy for the man. In the philippines its kind of the same as many of the Filipinas have been disenfranchised by the local boys and have come to realize that a foreign husband can not only make beautiful babies but will stay and take care of them.

Yes, I agree with you completely. I find it really creepy seeing really old guys with these young women. I'm 61, but most people think I'm in my early to mid fifties, and my girlfriend is 45 and 5'3. In the west, I would usually date someone that was within 5 years of my age, so I am definitely dating younger by 16 years. Where I do disagree with you is that Filipinas don't age well after 35. My gf is absolutely beautiful and I see lots of attractive older women in the philippines.

Height is not a good guide to age, there are plenty of 30 years old women who are only about 4ft 6in tall, and even a few men.
I am 60 and have a Fiancé that is 40. If I was dating, I would prefer a Filipina over 35. But, I realize there are some younger psychologically mature women that can also be good wives, if you live in the Philippines with them. But, they probably want to have children which is unlikely with me since I had a TURP surgery 6 years ago.
If the woman is as young as or younger than your child, that should automatically be a no-no.

It always amazes me of the hypocrisy some people display regarding interpersonal relationships between two consenting adults no matter the age differences. Late comment. Age gap relationships have been going on for decades if not centuries, and not just between young Filipinas and foreign men. It's not a new thing. Stop making such a big deal over nothing. If people have a problem with it, they are the ones with the problem. In the 70's my godfather who had just retired in his 60's went back to the Phillippines to get married. He found himself a 28 year old school teacher. Married and brought her back to Hawaii. She took care of him till he passed in his 80's. Gave him 3 children. He was happy and satisfied even though he knew he would not live to see his children graduate high school. And she did not remarry once he had gone. She loved him.

As regards to age, my experience (in general) with Filipinas is that if they are 40+ years old, they have a variety of difficulties that you may wish to avoid. 1) They age poorly perhaps due to bad dental work or too much time in the sun; 2) Have been married before and thus only separated, not divorced so beware the law! 3) Have a child or four. A younger Filipina would have a smaller chance of having the same difficulties listed above, though they could have their own immature weaknesses.
