BRK Ghost 50m review and test with various pellets

- The BRK Ghost is stretching its legs, going out to 50m in gusty wind to try and find a pellet that can buck the wind, shooting them over 1000fps. H&N, JSB, Cometa pellets at various weights.

Gert, considering your knowledge and background, I’m surprised you tested diablo shaped pellets at those speeds, knowing the optimum stabilization,and accuracy speeds for 15-18 gr “waisted” pellets is “roughly” between 850 and 925 FPS!! Based on this video (even with the wind) people are going to think the BRK Ghost is junk and not worth the cost! …..Your reviews and tests are always solid, educational, well worth watching, and the Ghost usually delivers damn near one hole groups with “proper setups”, but any “newbie” to your channel will eliminate the Ghost as a possible purchase after watching your video. I have many high end rifles but don’t have a Ghost myself, and are not connected in any way to the industry, and always enjoy your videos, and testing methods….. but this video only proved once again that diablo pellets are not designed to be accurate at those speeds, no matter the high quality of the regulator and gun………. Just one man’s opinion!!

Thanks for the feedback, I am 100% with you on the optimal speed, but the Ghost totally proved me wrong when I was 1 holing 16gr and 18gr pellets at 30m @ 1030fps. I just had to test it further. I do believe that the Ghost is capable of shooting them cloverleaf at that speed on a windless day, hope I get a windless day as they are very rare where I live. I am doing a follow up video where I adjust the gun to check what the ultimate velocity is for pellets out of the Ghost. I firmly believe the slow twist rate and hard choke will assist in shooting pellets at higher speed with the Ghost. Lastly, I am not here to advertise the Ghost, if that is my finding at that speed then don't shoot at that speed. The whole purpose of the series is to test the gun to its limits to see what it is capable of or not. Already establisehd it can't shoot slugs, nor pellets at 1030fps in strong wind. I still have a plethora of other senarios to test.
@@AimSmall Gert, I too am with you concerning testing to see the capabilities, and look forward to your next video. And yes, I know that you purchase your items, are not sponsored by any manufacturer, therefore are not here to promote any item, but are simply a hobbyist posting tests that peak YOUR curiosity, no matter the results. My point in this case only, is that you have the background and knowledge to “educate” during your testing, that the outcome may “suck”, not just due to wind, but because the pellet speeds and barrel (etc) are not compatible., so the results could be extremely variable. This type of information coming from a respected “tester” like yourself (with over 7000 followers) would help less “seasoned” shooters understand “why and how” air rifles perform. Anyway, I always look forward to your videos, and appreciate the time and effort it takes to make them.
Hi Gert, love your videos, you had a tough day to run your 50m test my friend, looking at the trees in the back of you bus, wind was brutal, I think these conditions and use of “lighter pellets” does not do any justice to the BRK ghost, I would love to see you run the same test but with heavier pellets and possibly better weather conditions.

What do you think of this gun compared to Fx maverick/wildcat bt versions.
It is still early days, but I prefer this gun above the FX at the moment, although it doesn't have the adjustability of the FX, it sure makes up in build quality and accuracy with pellets. Still need a slug barrel...
Did tell you they didn’t shoot slugs , but they are coming out with a new barrel which will shoot slugs and pellets really accurately

Way to high velocity for pellets in the BRK Ghost !!!!! 😱 850 - 910 FPS and you will get a lot better results for sure 👍🙂
Yup, the weird thing is that they grouped like champs at 30m at that speed, I always shoot between 840fps en 870fps. I just had to check stability and accuracy at longer distances. Point proven.

I am eagerly awaiting the conversion kit to 177... But it will cost me a pretty penny as i will have to replace the hammer spring as well.
