I hope it goes well with you. I am getting rid of this lemon I have, 2020 2500hd LTZ L5P. There are so many problems with this truck, just waiting for my F350 7.3L to come in. More and more people are going away from diesels due to the cost and frankly all the problems. I am up to 52 codes since new and just hit over 60k miles. I love the power when it works and doesn't leave me stranded. To bad I have had to cancel 4 camping trips and been stuck in 7 states. Unless you can, lighten it up and/or make it "breath" better, diesels are just not a stable platform anymore. it's a sharp truck for sure you have.

Gotta put that thing on a diet bro kick all that junk out and it’ll,run like a top company in Canada sells everything you need stupid EPA is ruining diesel engines but that chevron decision might change all that very soon

No diss - but pretty sure you got a lemon. Emissions on new trucks can give problems, but most have few problems if any in the first 100,000 miles.

Awesome Video! I got one on order and being delivered in a month! what is your truck's recommended camper weight? (it is on the sticker in your dash) Im thinking of getting a truck cabover camper.

In my opinion the only place you will actually notice a difference between diesel and gas is going up and down mountains. That is where the diesel would be very nice to have. Good luck with your new purchase.

Back of the steering wheel should have buttons on both sides for radio controls. My 2024 1500 elevation has it, so you must too. Right side should be volume, and left is station change

The truck is almost perfect IMHO. The screen that holds the navigation should be up higher where they have the vents. It needs way more than the two small vents in the rear should be at least 6 vents back there. The leather should be more supple. Gas mileage is killer for its size I got 17.5 MPG from Florida to Missouri. Sound system is very nice. I would love to hear others thoughts on this platform. OH and give us super cruise.

I’m real happy with the performance of this truck. I have the 2024 Chevy 2500 Custom. Not as fancy as yours but gets the job done. I love the 10 speed in these trucks especially for pulling.

All of the people at GM who didn't relaize that the unnecessarily long shifter would block a portion of the screen in drive need a stern talking to 😂
The Chevy setup is fine, the GMCs moved the air vents from either side of the screen to above the screen. Bad move lol

I use Android Auto through my vehicle screens every time I am in them, that shifter block was almost a dealbreaker form me.
Still didn't end up with a GM though, seats are too uncomfortable.

I knew in 2020 when the 10 speeds autos came out,it wouldnt be the same as the 5 or 6 speed autos. First of all it is not a true Allison, and Second why in the world would you need to have an auto shifting/downshifting 10 times? Lots more sensors, lots more over priced vehicles. 1 of many of my trucks is 05 LLY Duramax 385,512 miles original transmission. Every year i change EVERY single fluid, front to back!

Do you happen to recall what the tire pressures were when you left the dealership as I was surprised by your comment that you were impressed by the ride due to the fact it has the heavier front torsion bars. Reading on forums of the same series of GM truck 2020 and up, it was more of a theme to not like the plow package springs that their truck happened to have on the lot if they were not making use of that spring capacity and replacing them with standard ones or cognito units which are even softer yet. Also the torsion bars will sag some as they break in and cause the bump stops to be closer or riding on the lower arm and the ride isn't as good at that point. I have to wonder if your older truck suffered a bit from that issue, that is unless you had cranked your keys up and that is a whole other topic which again causes a rougher ride for a different reason.

I do actually bc one was low when I got in to leave. They filled all 4 up to door tags, I think 70 in front and 80 in back

Referring to the view of the screen. I have a GMC 2024 2500 HD duramax. In mine the air vents are to the side of the screen so it is 2 or 3 inches higher than your interior. And my brake control is on the dash like the Chevy not in the center console which I don’t care for.

They made the New interior for the 1500 series first and they have shifters in the middle like Ford . Maybe they never thougt of the column shifter would be in the way when they released the refreshed HD version a year later

I want to love this vehicle, what's not to love! It's gorgeous, great drive train but the seats, the seats, "THE SEATS" They make me feel like I'm at a division ll college football game and I brought stadium seats with me to help ease the pain. GMC dropped the ball on this so badly, I have moved on from these models until they remedy this. I test drove one for 30 minutes and it was about 15 minutes too long. If this truck had the Ford limited seats it would be the best truck ever made!

    • @Midwestcamperguy
      @Midwestcamperguy  Месяц назад +1

@@chrisross1657 yes they are hard. However having owned ford f150 and f250 that are softer…that softness translates into less supportive. Wife and I both agree after longer drives our bodies were more tired in the ford seats. Admittingly I have not been in a massaging limit seat though!

We have a 2020 1500 AT4 and had the same reaction to the seats. A 150 mile drive and my tail bone was singing the blues. However, after about 50 or 60K miles, your butt either breaks in to them or they break into your butt. I did test drive a ZR2 recently and I don't know if they changed the seat material, other than the obvious colors, but those seats were fantastic.

There is one other thing you should be aware those GM gassers have a huge issue with the cylinder deactivation and roller rockers. From what I have seen on RUclips the only way to fix the issue is have the ECM deactivated so no cylinders stop firing and replace those rockers as soon as possible. Once completed those engines will last to 300k miles.
