Chelsea fan here too. Been going to the Bridge since 1967 and barring a handful, I haven't missed a home game since. Had a season in the West Lower now since it opened. I knew nothing about this song until I saw this pop in my suggestions. Talk about get you right in the pump and Dover. Cried for the first time in more than 60 years since my dad got killed. I ain't ashamed to say that this is beautiful. Like you said True, “Nothing says more about what it is to love your club through all the hard times...” Bit like now. Them Hibees fans that were there that day, unashamedly singing out loud and proud, an outpouring of over 100 years of hurt, like I said, I cried bucket.

I’ve got to agree with you here, this song is the bast. The Proclaimers must be soo proud. Who wouldn’t listening to these fans. The passion& emotion of Scottish fans cannot be beaten. I’m so proud to be Scottish 🏴.
I'm a Celtic fan and this still brings a tear to my eye. Not just the circumstances and the opposition but just how it must have felt to do it after so long
Brought more than a tear to my eyes, I have no interest in football, but I do have interest in peoples passion for what they live and stand for, this is pure passion and magical Love it..
Apologies I’m an Englishman but absolutely LOVE the Proclaimers. This is my favourite song of theirs. You Hibs fans smashed it out of the park with that rendition. You made this chap well up 👏👏👏👏👏 Hibs fans.
Dont apologise for being an englishman brother. I'm Irish we don't apologise for being Irish, Scots shouldn't ... blah blah. It's about being a decent human being my friend.
From a Rangers fan, true respect to the passion and commitment of the Hibs fans. What an amazing rendition of Sunshine of Leith. Really stirring stuff. Well done on the victory.
Here I am again, end of 2019, with a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye. Beautiful, thanks Hibs fans for showing the rest of the world the passion that true football supporters have.
Derby County Fan. Has to go down as the most spine chilling moment at a football ground ever.. Watched this loads of times. To think the Proclaimers happened to have written the perfect song in the era when Hibs would win the cup after 114 year wait and 10 previous fails as losing finalists makes it all the more poignant. The perfect game taking the lead, going 2 - 1 down and rallying to get the late winner. Goosebumps stuff. The sun shone on the crowd too. Just perfect. Does make me smile though. All the rivalry with the 'Us English' and the people of your great nation end up fighting with each other. Who is the enemy anyway? Time to put all that division to bed, unite and embrace the humanity of this joyous experience. I bet the Rangers fans who have seen this since, wish they'd have stuck around and joined in the incredible wall of sound.
I'm English and proud but I love the passion in which this was performed. You people did your club and city proud and I read people have waited years to have this moment. You guys never wasted it. Superb.
I'm a Celtic fan, this is unreal, I can not stop watching this video, my uncle has just passed away, and this brings a tear to my eye, much love to the hibs 😍 hail hail Neil Lennon.
Arsenal fan here, absolutely spectacular from you hibs supporters, now that’s passion and a half!! Your team must have had shivers down their spines hearing you guys and girls belting that out, all supports should have that passion and emotion for their team so credit to you! 🙏🏻
The most emotional song ever heard at a football match. Have waited so long to win the scottish cup, you can hear 100years of relief and joy in the singing of this song. A match that hibs fans will never forget. Just wish that l was a hibs fan on that day.
I’m a proud Yorkshireman, but this has brought a tear to my eye. I only really came across the song the other week, but it’s already one of my all time favourites, and this rendition is spine tingling.
HIBS FANS - YOU JUST CLAIMED THE BEST EVER TERRACE CHANT. I am in tears 😭. As a true Celtic fan I’ve witnessed many a passionate time on the terrace. BUT this is fuckin awesome. And for all the comments were fathers and past fathers who witnessed this it will be a cherished moment. 🏆. Just digest the performance, the day, even the sunshine ☀️ and last of all true PASSION. Well done Hibees. 🇳🇬
It's moments like this that football fans that have had their hearts broken on a regular basis over the years live for. Great anthem. Respect from a Northampton Town fan.
Truely amazing love this song so much you guys obviously do I'd of been emotional wreck if I was in the stands I'm a villa fan and at times it gets specail like this in the holte end it makes football shine in it's own way tbh..ps loving john McGinn he is what we have missed for years
to the 201 people who gave this the thumbs down,i sincerely hope at some point in your life you experienced even half the joy i felt standing behind the goals, in that moment singing sunshine on Leith,as a true Leither having watched a team i and all my family members support and always have supported all the way back to my Irish great grandparents who had moved "little Ireland (the Grassmarket in Edinburgh)and followed Hibernian football club from day one. won the scottish cup,a cup that we had not won in 114 years and had almost accepted we would not ,no sorry could not win!! in the bright sunshine some 26,000 members of the hibs quire serenade 500 police Scotland cuntstubbles, the broken goalposts and dug up pitch a reminder of the 10 minute period when the Hibernian support had relieved police Scotland of their control of law and order and let them know after waiting 114 to witness an event that we never really believed we would witness and remembered our family members and friends we had watched hibs with over the years, who were no longer with us, i personally felt my grandad Francis and mates Mikey and James among others joining in the chorus from heaven... while the chief puts sunshine on Leith...thanks for the thumbs down boys, the ggtth that followed was a belter tae!
Every time I watch this, it warms my heart so much. I keep coming back to it time and again and it never fails to put a smile on my face. The most amazing fan singalong of all time. For those there, it must have been spine tingling.
I just watched this again and remembered the great day in May when I stood in my flat in London watching the TV and roaring this at the top of my voice with tears streaming down my face. You need to to be a Hibee to fully understand the passion and the excitement is there for all to see
As Roma fan here, born in Rome and always lived here... i completely fell in love with Hibs after reading Irvine Welsh’s books. So many similarities with As Roma+ hibs anthem is the best
Incredible! I'm a Villa fan and I was so moved by this rendition of the Proclaimers' song that I had tears streaming down my cheeks. Football supporters are amazing and these Hibernian fans have absolutely made this song their own. Sheer brilliance! Charlie and Craig Reid, the twin brothers who front the band and are staunch Hibs fans must be so proud that their creation has become the club's anthem and must be elated every time they hear the crowd sing it. Absolutely incredible!
As a Leicester season ticket holder for 40 years (and a left footer) this is the best ever terrace anthem I have ever heard. Tear to my eye, always love The Hibbies. Total respect brothers, B.S.
I'm a Swansea City fan and they're the only team I'll ever support but whenever I see this and hear the fans belting out this beautiful song, I became a Hibs fan for four and a half minutes. This sums up everything I love about sport, everything I love about music and everything I love about being a fan and truly loving something. Wonderful, just wonderful.
Climbed Arthur's seat this August. Got to top, saw the Hibs Ground and sang 'Sunshine on Leith'. A special moment for me- my wife and daughter thought I was mad. It's just one of those things which I wanted to do. I am an Aston Villa fan from England! I watched the Villa lift the League trophy in 1981 and the European Cup in 1982. Football is football and respect is respect. God bless the brilliant Hibs fans and The Proclaimers. I forgot to buy a Hibs scarf when I was in Edinburgh. I want to buy a Hibs 'Sunshine on Leith' one for myself for my Birthday. Respect from Villa to Hibs. (John)
Lovely message. My pal is a villa fan and i helped him become a Hibby when up here. And a nice wee link in that the great Des Bremner transferred from the Hibs and help the Villa win the European Cup. fantastic player.
I played professional football in the 70's and, now in my sixties, find it difficult to recapture the enthusiasm and sheer love of the game that I had in my innocent youth. This rendition reminds me of why I love football so much and of all the highs and lows that this magical game still brings. Moving beyond belief!
I was lucky to be there because my Scottish friends Billy, Jack and John made it possible for my friend Chris and me to be part of this awesome afternoon at Hampden. We're Germans supporting our teams from Leverkusen and Dusseldorf but we'll never forget THAT SPECIAL AFTERNOON in Glasgow in May 2016. Glory to the Hibees!!!
im a leeds fan. and quite a fanatic for leeds.but i defy any fan of any club in any league in the the world to produce such a beautiful harmonic and a magnificent moving joy to watch and listen as this.congratulations hibs.
K M Ha Ha. I thought, coming from a Celtic Bhoy, what i had written wasn’t bad. But, your right. The Hibees will be admired world wide for that beautiful day👍 Respect✌️
I'm a fanatical Rangers fan, who lived in Edinburgh for 20 years. I wasn't happy with the end result, but I'm so happy for Hibs. My best friend in Edinburgh was Mike Conner, who I used to regularly support the Hibs with.....tragically he died in 1999. This IS one of the best tracks I've ever heard, and I'd like to dedicate it to MIKE, who has a BRICK in the Hibs Stadium wall. Robin Topping 13th Sep 2018
As a Rangers fan, my heart WAS broken that day, but living in Edinburgh at the time, hearing possibly the greatest rendition of a song at any match, and seeing what it meant to Hibs fans, thank you for drying my tears a bit with that 🍻
Rangers supporter here too but born n bred Leither so have a soft spot for Hibs been to Easter Road as many times as I’ve been to Ibrox on this day I was an honorary Hibee I’ve been spoiled over the years watching the Famous lift many trophies I could have been there to but my wee Brother knocked back the tickets 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ we had both been at the league cup final just before this & Hibs lost it was my 2nd Hibs Final but my wee Bro had been to a few & never seen them win so he said he wasn’t going because he thought Rangers would pump Hibs & he couldn’t face another final loss I was fuming when he told me he knocked them back all my friends & family are Hibs apart from my Dad which is why I’m Rangers we lived just off Leith Walk at this time so we watched the bus come down with the players & the Scottish Cup it was a great day but I still fume that I could have been a part of this Any supporter worth his salt wouldn’t bail Kay Hibs & their Day of Glory still gives me goosebumps & 😢 ✌🏼💙🙏🏼👍🏼
Just watched this again today, I'm going through a bad time at the moment and this has brought me to tears, brilliant emotional passionate quality fans. Brilliant.
Roared when the winner went in like it was my own team. I stood at Hampden in tears when my team - Motherwell - won the Cup 25yrs ago, and we still talk about it. A huge WELL DONE from Lanarkshire. Enjoy and celebrate long and hard.
Overwhelming. This here and Irish fans singing "Fields of Athenry" on Euro 2012 against Spain, two greatest moments in a modern football. Greetings from Serbia from Partizan Belgrade fan!
Ive watched this clip about 5 times now and it still brings a lump to my throat. I love the passion and the sense of belonging to a town and a football club. I get this, at times, with my own club....its an amazing feeling.

Amazing! Why has it taken me nearly 3 years to witness this? All the negative news was Rangers fans invading the pitch after their loss to fight the Hibs fans who were celebrating (but the Rangers fans did it to protect their players of course). This rendition of Sunshine on Leith should have been the main news of the day! Respect to the Hibs fans. Fantastic!

Words can’t describe the feeling of being at this special once in a lifetime event. The supporters that went before us, who lived in hope of one day seeing their team lift the cup but never did. We all sung our hearts out that day for them! #GGTTH A wee special mention for my kid brother Jamie, unfortunately this was to be his final of final matches. R.I.P brother, until we meet again. #Myheartwasbroken GGTTH
114 years. That’s the history never to be repeated. You can’t buy this emotion. You either feel it or you don’t. You need to have lived it. There’s no fake’s amongst us. We never chose to hunt glory by choosing a team that wins the league every year. The team chooses you because it’s engrained in who you are and were your from. Every single person who reads this will identify with what I’ve said with their own team. I hope you can all one day feel the same emotion as we did that brilliant day in 2016. #GGTTH
As a Bluenose the result was a sore one however reading your comment puts life firmly back into perspective. Really sorry to read about your kid brother. I am sure he enjoyed the day and will be reliving it on repeat up the stairs.
I did my time in the Old Dart in the mid 70s and became a 'Spurs supporter through connections with the family of a Spurs' Great. The chanting and singing facinated me. We don't do that back home, well not in Australian Rules anyway. Back then it was only West Ham that had a song, Blowing bubbles. The rest had the same chants, just a few different words. I've paid little attention to soccer since 1977 when I returned. I stumbled across this video on youtube earlier this year. 2016 was a remarkable year for underdogs. My Aus Rules team, Bulldogs, won its second Premiership and first in 62 years, in 2016. The emotion of that day was unforgettable. Underdogs won in AFL and NRL in Aus; Leicester in the EPL; Ll...something or other in Wales; Chicago Cubs in US Basebasll, some team called Van something or other in US basketball; Portugal in Europe. Leaving aside Trump and Brexit, the greatest was Hibs. It's ripe for a book.
Took the kids away to Edinburgh for my 50th birthday and stayed in leith and what a wonderful place on the water, unforgettable memories for myself, josh, hollie and Reece xx
I love hearing this song and watching Hibs, Sheffield United fan never been to Scotland.. gained a soft spot for Hibs in 2014 after the penalty shootout loss to Hamilton. I celebrated this cup final win like it was the Blades winning the English Fa Cup. Hearing sunshine on leith before and after a game makes my spine tingle the same feeling I get when we sing ‘Greasy chip butty’ before a game. Great club, great fans. Hibeees💚
The chip butty song is one of footballs best. Hairs on the neck stuff. Similar to sunshine on Leith it's about the place the team is from. All the best 👍

The man uniteds, the chelseas, the rangers, the celtics, they can have their 20 premier league titles, their 30 FA cups, all bought and paid for with cash. This is absolutely brilliant. I'm well chuffed for all you Hibs fans. A beautiful song, a great anthem that epitomises your love for your team. I'm moved!! Love it!!!

Quality comment. Sure does bring a chill to oneself.
Like you said True, “Nothing says more about what it is to love your club through all the hard times...”
Bit like now. Them Hibees fans that were there that day, unashamedly singing out loud and proud, an outpouring of over 100 years of hurt, like I said, I cried bucket.

(John)

I played professional football in the 70's and, now in my sixties, find it difficult to recapture the enthusiasm and sheer love of the game that I had in my innocent youth. #GGTTH
