yea, literally is the image of a company that love his project and his community but was under pression of a big company to rush the development and create hype. Literal this update is an introduction of all the engine upgrades they are doing for the new game on the olg game, like Sean said on the new video, it's giving the future into the present.
No Man Sky is a LEGEND, how A developer cares for their community, clients and didn't fall into a greedy mindset. And I'm those lucky few who stay with the game since release until now and experience all the changes and hard work they did for the game. in the future if theres a developer who want to be remembered as a great one, give them the "No Man Sky Redemption Saga" from Fail to LEGEND.
I hope part two adds rivers that flow down hill and planets with multiple biomes! Can’t wait to play this one in the mean time! These look like great additions to the game!

@@DannyMartin56 well there could be multiple regions for a single planet instead of biomes - if there was a desert/scorched planet, there could be a dry wasteland, small oasis’ with palm trees, etc. or a frozen world with tundras and frozen plains, paired with high mountain up north and frozen forests. I’m also hoping for denser and larger forests. The current ones are more like patches of trees.

I been a NMS player since day 1 and wow the game looks so beautiful and has come a long way since I launched 2016, loved it back then and love it even more now, sean murrey is a genius and should be so proud of what he has achieved with this masterpiece of a game, I didn't expect any more updates after NEXT GEN update, 👏 ❤️

No Man’s Sky - the launch was a buggy, unoptimized mess with barely any promises met, but now its a beautiful universe, brilliantly optimized, and doesn’t just meet promises, but *_FAR_* exceeds them. As someone that has played the game since around its launch, to say it has come a _long_ way is an understatement, and I absolutely love it.
I don't own this game but I've followed its story since launch. And I think there needs to be a specific, and rarely given award to the devs of this game for how they turned it around. In an age where almost ever company has an antagonist attitude towards their customers, this group is showing theirs love.
This has been said all the time, and I'm a player since NMS NEXT so I know this better than most people, but holy shit, every major update turns it essentially into an entirely different game. I love Hello Games.
Well if you were here from the beginning you’d probably feel how i feel which is this update is like NEXT all over again, new recipes and technology, a complete rework of planets and new creatures! This is gonna be the first time I’ve had a reason to start a new game since NEXT! Stoked is an understatement.
1:16 got to stop you right there. The new update was in NO Way influenced by Helldivers 2, Sean Specifically said it was influenced by Starship Troopers. It even uses some of the same lingo. Now, helldivers 2 may draw inspiration from Starship Troopers as well but they are not the same.
Starfield was a disappointment to me for Space Adventures, but I'm glad NoManSky has me covered. I can't wait for the update. All this is Part1 too? Damn.

WOW the water updates are wild. it should dramatically change the comfort level of some bases. im picturing my lone island base on an ocean planet, and im sure its flooded right now.
Hello Games is genius for making a game that can be updated indefinitely. I can't imagine how crazy this game would get if they took into next gen consoles.

First off this update was a reskin, it didn't actually change the terrain generation, which in its simplest terms is just random elevation with a sea level line and POIs dotting line around the globe. It works because at its core, it's actually a simple concept. Adding rivers and waterfalls means adding multiple layers of complexity. POIs work because they're inserting a small area on top of the random landscape. Rivers would require that random landscape to be rewritten over a significantly larger area. Most systems wouldn't be able to handle it. Let alone waterfalls, not only having to adjust for distance(width in this case) but elevation and flow. It sounds easy, and in other games it might be, but due to the nature of NMS it's very complicated. Secondly, this kind of change would mean resetting every planet and potentially ruining every base ever made. That would be a media disaster. That isn't to say they won't figure something out eventually, but the odds of it being in part 2 are basically non-existent.

I’ve never been a base builder, so would be quite happy for them to completely reset everything in the name of progressing the game and enhancing it. Sadly, you’re also right about people losing their minds if their bases disappeared.
Hello Games went from being basically the laughingstock of the games industry to being one of the best development studios of all time. They really are a shining example of game devs prioritizing making solid games over making money. Of course the latter is important but the fact every single major update to No Man's Sky has been FREE is simply astounding. The ONLY money I've spent on NMS was the 60 bucks I spent on the original PS4 version in 2016. I can't say that about any other game I've ever owned. We live in a golden age of gaming and Hello Games are leading the pack by being an example that every game developer in the world should emulate, but too few do.

Well, NMS came out first and was the inspiration for LNF. So, you know, there's that... LNF is more like a fantasy/ sword and shield version of NMS, not the other way around. Them taking NMS and reskinning it with a medieval theme is the most likely case. Chronological order of projects is a thing.

This is amazing and I'm glad they keep working on this game. Unfortunately, I just can't find a way to play this game that is enjoyable for me. I really think the devs have done an amazing job of redeeming this and it is great, but I just don't enjoy the grinding gameplay or the UI on PC. Maybe I will look into UI mods on PC to see if any of those can help.
Just my opinion, if they added civilizations/cities and factions throughout this game. Added a large multiplayer experience where alot of players can be in one city. Having faction battles and goverment stuff that the players can take part in. Then the game would be even better.
The ONE dev company That actually loves it's players. EVERYTHING HAS ALWAYS BEEN FREE they never charged us for having more fun. They will always have me asa loyal fan
I believe that Hello Games has some corporate or government backing allowing them to work on their technology which is why they are so free to create and not charge.
We need alot more stuff that can kill us in this game,from enemies,to gigantic creatures like leviathans worms giant underwater creatures and I mean giant,like in shadow of colossus,

I keep seeing the gaming world going down in flames with all egregious prices and mtx (extreme greed). Then I play some No Man's Sky and Baldurs Gate 3 and I consider myself fortunate enough I'm still able to have some fun, before corporation's start charging us for the air we breath. Another incredible update. I love this game! The only item left on my wishlist is Cities. From native looking communities to thriving metropolis, it'd be amazing to see that implemented in the game.

I can remember playing this game for the first time and it was one of the games the just got me. I thought about it every day all day! Lol, probably not healthy, but it definitely increased my love of gaming. After seeing this update, it really makes me want to start a brand new character, which I haven't done in a very, very long time! I can completely see the part of Light No Fire in this update. I just wish they would hurry up and make an announcement of a release date or at least something! Also, keep up the great content! I always love your videos about games and also your tutorial type videos. I can tell you really put your all into it!
i wish they would just remove the half circle glow around planets. would make it look so much more realistic. the half circle atmospheric glow makes it look kinda goofy
Played ps4 at launch. Took a break and restarted in 2018. Had nearly 600 hours into with a great base on a paradise planet. Never uploaded save to cloud. Recently got a ps5 and re-downloaded game for this update. Kinda hard starting over again. Think I might switch to creative mode and just chill.
I wonder how my planet will look like now with this update I haven’t checked yet but I remember the first time my home planet changed the palm trees changed to glowing mushrooms that matched the glowing blue grass which was really beautiful even though I miss the palm trees lol I wish I had both but I’m happy how it looks no & im super excited to come back again for this. I hope in the future they add cross save/progression for consoles.
i came back because of this last time I played, it was on the PlayStation 4. I currently have a PlayStation five so I downloaded both games in the hopes of transferring my files and the button to transfer doesn't exist for me. I've looked it up and I think there is an issue for many people with the same problem, I tried to just continue playing on the PlayStation 4 version on my PlayStation five but the game just keeps crashing and I've lost about 2/3 hours of progress on mission so I hope they managed to fix it because I always appreciate the deaths for this game, but it would be impossible to come back from zero consistent crashing
All they did was add a few insects and walking robot things, I wanted more randomized pieces for the already existing animal types, I didn't see shit in the update notes and in game. I wanted environment variety : ( hopefully the next part will be more variation.
My main complaint with this update is how rare the new content is. I’ve played the new update for 6 hours and haven’t seen any of the new desserts, floating islands, new creatures, or living buildings. Just the new water which does look amazing, but I’m losing my patience now😤
@@zackdavis7562 I have not, but I did finally find a planet with living building which I immediately made as my new pets. And then immediately after in the next star system I found a green paradise planet with floating islands, blue sky and orange/tan water and it’s probably the most beautiful planet I’ve seen! Definitely worth the wait lol.

Man, i love NMS and it's team 😭They are like the only ones who actually care about their game. I don't even play expeditions, but the base game is still top tier 😊
The floating islands are neat until you land on one and pass through it because 90% of them aren't solid. Then when you find one you can actually build on, terrain manipulation isn't a thing on them and your buildings will not sit level, the ground will push through the bottoms of buildings, and you can't build foundations first because they must be on solid ground... Yeah, visually, they look kind of cool, until you get up close and see the water detail from the waterfall. Meh.
8 years all this content no charge.... I friggin love this game.

"Whole trees rock and sway during storms" is about the trees movement in storms, not the rocks moving :)

think lore wise large civilizations wont happen due to sentinals anything bigger then an outpost sentals sees as a imbalance and then decimates them.

I remember when this came out, damn it sure has changed! I actually want to play this again.
The ONE dev company That actually loves it's players. EVERYTHING HAS ALWAYS BEEN FREE they never charged us for having more fun. They will always have me asa loyal fan
I believe that Hello Games has some corporate or government backing allowing them to work on their technology which is why they are so free to create and not charge.

We need alot more stuff that can kill us in this game,from enemies,to gigantic creatures like leviathans worms giant underwater creatures and I mean giant,like in shadow of colossus,

I wouldnt be mad at sean and hello games if this is the only game they ever work on. Keep at it. I want to see this game and star citizen keep expanding and getting better.

I keep seeing the gaming world going down in flames with all egregious prices and mtx (extreme greed). Then I play some No Man's Sky and Baldurs Gate 3 and I consider myself fortunate enough I'm still able to have some fun, before corporation's start charging us for the air we breath. Another incredible update. I love this game! The only item left on my wishlist is Cities. From native looking communities to thriving metropolis, it'd be amazing to see that implemented in the game.

I can remember playing this game for the first time and it was one of the games the just got me. I thought about it every day all day! Lol, probably not healthy, but it definitely increased my love of gaming. After seeing this update, it really makes me want to start a brand new character, which I haven't done in a very, very long time! I can completely see the part of Light No Fire in this update. I just wish they would hurry up and make an announcement of a release date or at least something! Also, keep up the great content! I always love your videos about games and also your tutorial type videos. I can tell you really put your all into it!

i wish they would just remove the half circle glow around planets. would make it look so much more realistic. the half circle atmospheric glow makes it look kinda goofy

Played ps4 at launch. Took a break and restarted in 2018. Had nearly 600 hours into with a great base on a paradise planet. Never uploaded save to cloud. Recently got a ps5 and re-downloaded game for this update. Kinda hard starting over again. Think I might switch to creative mode and just chill.
They've done the impossible years ago, mate. Now it is just the icing on the cake, and then the cherry on top.

I found a really cool moon with one of the new biomes added in this update, floating plants and flowers everywhere
if they were to add tornadoes, volcanoes, whirl pools, water spouts, fire nadoes, and other weather effects in part two that would be so dope.
Wind direction and shading is amazing.including ambience and waves.The oceans feel Alive. Thanks to Hello games.😊
I wonder how my planet will look like now with this update I haven’t checked yet but I remember the first time my home planet changed the palm trees changed to glowing mushrooms that matched the glowing blue grass which was really beautiful even though I miss the palm trees lol I wish I had both but I’m happy how it looks no & im super excited to come back again for this.
I hope in the future they add cross save/progression for consoles.

i came back because of this last time I played, it was on the PlayStation 4. I currently have a PlayStation five so I downloaded both games in the hopes of transferring my files and the button to transfer doesn't exist for me. I've looked it up and I think there is an issue for many people with the same problem, I tried to just continue playing on the PlayStation 4 version on my PlayStation five but the game just keeps crashing and I've lost about 2/3 hours of progress on mission so I hope they managed to fix it because I always appreciate the deaths for this game, but it would be impossible to come back from zero consistent crashing
I haven played lately because i had other games to play and ive sunk over 3000 hours into it and now im going to have to palt again.
All they did was add a few insects and walking robot things, I wanted more randomized pieces for the already existing animal types, I didn't see shit in the update notes and in game. I wanted environment variety : ( hopefully the next part will be more variation.

My main complaint with this update is how rare the new content is. I’ve played the new update for 6 hours and haven’t seen any of the new desserts, floating islands, new creatures, or living buildings. Just the new water which does look amazing, but I’m losing my patience now😤
Have you done the expedition? I haven’t yet but they most likely will make it take place in systems that showcase the update.
@@zackdavis7562 I have not, but I did finally find a planet with living building which I immediately made as my new pets. And then immediately after in the next star system I found a green paradise planet with floating islands, blue sky and orange/tan water and it’s probably the most beautiful planet I’ve seen! Definitely worth the wait lol.

The exomech, aswell as all exocraft, REALLY need a rework. They feel so wonky to pilot in first person.
I would GLADLY pay for DLC at this point. What do they have in store for the future???

You can still make everything free to unlock/build under difficulty settings if you wish so it's no big loss.

Man, i love NMS and it's team 😭They are like the only ones who actually care about their game. I don't even play expeditions, but the base game is still top tier 😊

Nice water, but i always lower water and shadows settings to save my pc lol
The floating islands are neat until you land on one and pass through it because 90% of them aren't solid. Then when you find one you can actually build on, terrain manipulation isn't a thing on them and your buildings will not sit level, the ground will push through the bottoms of buildings, and you can't build foundations first because they must be on solid ground... Yeah, visually, they look kind of cool, until you get up close and see the water detail from the waterfall. Meh.
This is awesome and makes me more excited for Light No Fire.
And they still haven’t fixed the memory leaks - I have a 4080 super and 5800x3d, the game starts stuttering after 30+ minutes of gameplay.
So I've been considering trying this game out. I generally love rpgs and mostly fantasy like WOW and skyrim. Will I enjoy this game?
