I wanted to play it, but my personal pc could not handle it. Fast foward to last year, I got a new pc and got the game as a gift. I love it. We have played together and now I play by myself because i love exploring the new worlds. I love the updates, it added so much depth and richness to the worlds. I love visiting the anomoly and seeing how other player have created their characters and ships. Its one of my favorite games to play and i cannot wait for what they have next!
I was there in 2016 when the game was so hyped to see it fall so hard. I had friends who wanted to explore planets, caves, fly and fight in space, to see it all end. This HAS to be THE biggest passion project so far. it came out looking like more of a tech demo, but they kept working on it and it seems like they REALLY meant what they said at the start

I was going to buy NMS for PC after launch in 2016, waiting for reviews, and of course, after reading them, waited until I was locked down, not only by the Covids, but a leg injury in mid-2020, when I had nothing but time. I am 7,000+ hours in since then and just when I think that might be enough, here comes another amazing update. I am old and do not play a lot of games; I prefer to lose myself in one or two at a time. It's pretty much just the one these last four years.
I love No Man's Sky I bought it and played it on day one. It was and still is my kind of Space game. Hello Games did a great job making up for the games bad release I hope that someday when Light No Fire comes out that it will come to Playstation and Xbox systems I hope that we won't have to wait long for those of us that can't afford PC'S.. Thanks for video it bought back memories and reminded me of how much I love this game.
I got No Man's Sky day one when it came to Xbox1. I've been playing off and on since. And recently this July after about two years of not playing I got the urge to play again. I fired it up. Saw it already looked different and logged into my account and was absolutely blown away by all the changes from when I last played. I'm in love all over again with the game.
All the game needs now is a creature overhaul. I’m so tired of seeing these lame pineapple looking creatures with no limbs hopping around. It looks so alpha/beta. Give us the dinosaur creatures and giant snakes from the first trailer and i’ll be satisfied.

The holy trinity of gaming redemptions. No Man’s Sky, Sea of Thieves, Battlefront 2. And I am HERE for it. I only recently went back to No Man’s Sky for the first time since 2022. I’m utterly hooked. Looking at what I played in 2016 on PS4, to what I’m playing in 2024 on Series X… mind blowing transition.
I’ve played all the iterations. I was one of the saps that preordered the original. I still play whenever they put out new stuff, which is constantly. The thing that’s been consistently true the whole time is that the artists working on visual design elements have always been great. It looks great. Looking forward to pt 2 and eventually Light No Fire. Very curious how far away that is.
This game has become one of my top 5 games of all time, it is the redemption game of the history books, I love and absolutely love just flying around, fighting, building, and just becoming a Space pirate lord like applause all around
Have had this since launch. Still have my original paradise planet base and have been playing since. Absolutely LOVE what they have done and cannot wait for what comes next!!! It's beautiful!
Absolutely LOVE this game from launch to now and obsessed with what it's become! So thanfkul for all the work the team at Hello Games have done. One thing I've been secretly praying for would be an overhaul of moons and planetary satellites at night. To have the moons and planets shine at night would be PHENOMENAL!! It would make nights that much more interesting and beautiful. I hope that comes one day!
There are a few things I don't agree, the game at launch did run really well on ps4 (30 fps but very stable). A lot of people including myself had a great time with NMS 1.0 Sean said many times in interviews before the release of the game that not all the feature were going to be for day one, that this was a game that they wanted to keep improving and supporting. I played over 300h even before the first major update came in late 2016.
I started playing in 2016 on my PS4, and even though it was bad i still played to death. Then when it re launched on Xbox i bought again, now in 2024 im playing it religiously on both consoles. Every update just brings more life to this game and the best thing unlike most AAA games is that its always free. This is one game id genuinely be happy for microtransactions at this point because i feel Hello Games have earned that right.
Every game has the fucking right to have microtransactions, FFS. They're a fucking BUSINESS. What don't you get about that? What's so fucking hard to understand that a BUSINESS needs MONEY to stay IN BUSINESS? You don't fucking work for free, neither do they.
Bought it on PS initially. Loved it right away. Shortly afterward, bought it again on Steam for PC. Played over 1000 hours so far and still as happy as day one.
When I bought the game at launch I had no expectations and that’s why I was probably one of the few people who actually liked the launch version. I then periodically checked back in and I can’t be more happy with my purchase and I am excited for their next game.
I bought NMS for the first time a month ago, July, 2024, on my Xbox Series S. I fell in love with the game and upgraded to a series X just so I could enjoy the visuals more. It is a stunning achievement and truly awe inspiring. 'm hooked. ❤
Picked it up at launch. Came back to it with most of the major updates. Played it for a week or two each time and moved on. Worlds 1 is the first time it's really hooked me. I always feel like I have something to do when I log in.
I haven’t played no man’s sky yet!, but I’m keeping up with the release that leads to the newest update “light no fire” coming soon. Then I would play!.
So ... ... I've been there since 2016 ... but I didn't let Gaming Magazines hype me up and since I come from the IT Industry myself and was once able to work on a Game, it was clear to me that Sean Murray's Statements were his Vision for the Game that were aimed at a long Future for this Game. We must never forget that NMS is Sean's Baby, which he was already working on during his studies. I think that we can expect great Things from Hello Games and especially from NMS and that some other Developers should follow their Example. But unfortunately that's not the Case in our fast-moving World, especially when Investors only pay Attention to quick Money and the next Stock Market Report and strive to maximize Profits at all Costs. Hello Games is refreshingly different and, in my Opinion, better.
The game still has some issues, but I've been in love with the game since I first played it during the Waypoint era. Yeah, I'm a fairly new player, but I still enjoy it none the less!
If you ask me Hello Games made up for their mistake 10 times over instead of people worrying about what happened what 8 years ago they should worry about what's going on now Sean Murray is a godsend he has made Hello Games a great game beyond all our expectations and hopes and it keeps getting better this is a free game he doesn't ask nothing for it he deserves our support not our criticism. Sean Murray you earned my respect many times over
Started with next update. Game has been my go to over game for years. Don't have much time for gaming but whenever I do I will run an expedition, explore, weekend mission etc.
You 'can' 'crash' on giant tree things. Took me and a friend forever to get his ship down again as he somehow got out mid landing but had empty launch thrusters. But this doesn't really count...
What content, exactly? NMS has no actual content. You run around doing nothing, for nothing. There are no goals outside of the artificial ones set by the player.
Started playing a few years ago and now I hopped back on playing every day! The new update is amazing. Finding an abandoned (not outlaw) station was nostalgic AF lol cuz it's layout is of the old pre updated space stations.
Such an incredible game. Started a new play through about a week ago, a few years after my last try and they have delivered what was initially promised 10 times over. I’m 40 hours in (the longest I’ve ever played) and feel like I’m just at the tip of the iceberg.
What blows me away the most is that pretty much all of these updates are also on the switch version. I bought the game at launch on PS4 and it's just crazy how it has evolved. I have a pc and Xbox series X but switch is where I spend the most time. It's crazy the game runs on switch period regardless of the fact that even the worlds update made it onto switch. The graphical detail isn't as high and there are no settlements but everything else is there. Mind-blowing.
I only heard of this game, when people complained about it flopping. This year, a friend asked me to try it out. I haven't looked back since. This is a beautiful and fun game.
Bought it launch I was never disappointed because I didn’t pay much attention to the sales pitches and the hype I just saw open space and planet exploration and I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I’m glad it’s just gotten better and better
One major thing people always glaze over with the update overviews is the Random Encounter System that they added with Living Ships. The Living Ship update made it so while pulse driving you could encounter TONS of crazy things while pulsing around from derelict freighters, children of helios, containment units, atlas messengers, etc. It changed a LOT of how the game felt while you travelled around and I don't think it gets much attention.
I recently bought no man's sky this game is incredible, the exploration feels amazing, i love discovering new worlds i feel like a real life Christopher Columbus
I absolutely adore this game, i only play it on psvr2, and will buy a ps5 pro just to make this experience better. Greatest VR game ever made and it isnt even a vr game lol. I love this studio! Thank you so much!
Bought the game during covid n got stuck at the beginning due to a glitch n nvr played again , just started a new save a few weeks ago n I’ve been hooked , glad I gave it a chance again
I first discovered no mans sky a few years back when I started playing elite dangerous I finally tried no mans sky last year and enjoyed it But I have not played it since last year I will have to turn it on and update it to see how it looks now after the latest update!
played 160 hours in two weeks. hearing all the story and realizing what the game turned out to be hello games are an amazing company, the game is a great experience and it bothered me to thing that for so long people were playing it without all the content i saw for myself, hello games did some terible choices at the start but i can honestly say the redeemed themselfs, they are already rich so plz hello game just keep investing in that game, keep up what you are doing, no micro transactions, no extra money for nothing! you are heroes !! keep it up
i'm fairly certain i started in the next update timeframe, i remember being confused for a while when they added power mechanics and i had to redo a lot of my bases since they now need power, i also remember being completely thrown off as to why every vehicle was suddenly huge
Yeah I literally heard about the game back before it released and thought "oh cool" but the Worlds Part 1 trailer is what convinced me to buy the game. I got my brother in law into it and we play almost everyday, its super fun!
And none of these overhaul updates were pushed as Purchasable DLC's... What Chads!! I would not have blamed them if they did. They indeed earned back my respect.
The fact that they kept going until they met, the promise is a respectable achievement because some studios will go out of their way to ignore their customers and avoid accountability
one very smart thing they did is building the game thinking about another game Light no Fire is basically using mechanics from NMS but in a singular world, changing the theme but making use of all they've already build, making it possible to make a even bigger game, thats why i think light no fire will work really well
Just starting playing cuz its on game pass. On pc. And so far, im blown away. Graphics are stellar and gameplay frels great so far. ❤ very excited to keep going. Been looking for a game like this for years now.
dude i see the old footage of the game and i still cant stop thinking that what happened is that someone erased the code that was already made and made the creators start from zero

Can't wait to see what they do with Light no Fire.
Been playing for two years. Just really impressed with the game and the players.
I haven’t played no man’s sky yet!, but I’m keeping up with the release that leads to the newest update “light no fire” coming soon. Then I would play!.
Im so ready for Light No Fire!
You're depriving yourself off a lot of fun. There is so much to do.
recently started playing it from the world's update & it was a good choice.
So ...
Bought the game this monday and i was blasted away by the content it has to offer, i have 45h just in the first few days of playing
The game still has some issues, but I've been in love with the game since I first played it during the Waypoint era. Yeah, I'm a fairly new player, but I still enjoy it none the less!
Oh for sure, its definitely not a perfect game, I'm loving every second of Worlds Part 1!
What makes it great with the updates is you can come back every year and discover all the new things they implemented
been fence sitting for years, I wanna try it today especially after this video
I got it in 2016 and hung on. Glad I did.
Sean Murray you earned my respect many times over
I just got a vr and just played some NMS vr. ..I feel enlightened
Thats awesome haha! I might have to boot up my valve index to try it out
Great review, ty!
Started with next update. Game has been my go to over game for years. Don't have much time for gaming but whenever I do I will run an expedition, explore, weekend mission etc.
And with all this content, I still can't crash my ship lmao
You 'can' 'crash' on giant tree things. Took me and a friend forever to get his ship down again as he somehow got out mid landing but had empty launch thrusters. But this doesn't really count...
What content, exactly? NMS has no actual content. You run around doing nothing, for nothing. There are no goals outside of the artificial ones set by the player.
@@Clockwork-Heart Yes it's not suited for everyone. It is no good for people with no imagination who need to have something to min/max and complete.
@@Clockwork-Heart Have you ever played sandbox games? If not, that might be why you feel this way.
@@Clockwork-Heart Isn't that just every video game?
Started playing a few years ago and now I hopped back on playing every day! The new update is amazing. Finding an abandoned (not outlaw) station was nostalgic AF lol cuz it's layout is of the old pre updated space stations.
I bought it after worlds part 1, absoloutely brilliant game!
Its Hello games and Larian that are the studios of the future.
This is how ypu do it! Amazing 🤘🏻
I have played the game since DAY 1 and have loved all version of the game.
Bought it launch I was never disappointed because I didn’t pay much attention to the sales pitches and the hype
I just saw open space and planet exploration and I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I’m glad it’s just gotten better and better
One major thing people always glaze over with the update overviews is the Random Encounter System that they added with Living Ships.
The Living Ship update made it so while pulse driving you could encounter TONS of crazy things while pulsing around from derelict freighters, children of helios, containment units, atlas messengers, etc.
It changed a LOT of how the game felt while you travelled around and I don't think it gets much attention.
i loved this game even when was not as pretty or fun as now but now i can't stop taking pictures worlds a stunning
I recently bought no man's sky this game is incredible, the exploration feels amazing, i love discovering new worlds i feel like a real life Christopher Columbus
Great video man
This game's redemption era ❤️
2:25 so good to see an awesome team.
Whoever was asking them to charge for the updates are the people who are destroying gaming
I can’t believe it’s been so many years
+1800 hours into this game. I'm playing it on Nintendo Switch, it's a shame they left out multiplayer, the technology is there for sure.
Wait, you cant multiplayer on switch? Lame.
I have never played it, but I have heard so many good things about it that I am going to.
When I started playing in 2016, I was a little let down, but I saw the framework for a potentially great game. I'm glad I decided to keep playing.
I first discovered no mans sky a few years back when I started playing elite dangerous
I finally tried no mans sky last year and enjoyed it
But I have not played it since last year
I will have to turn it on and update it to see how it looks now after the latest update!
played 160 hours in two weeks. hearing all the story and realizing what the game turned out to be hello games are an amazing company, the game is a great experience and it bothered me to thing that for so long people were playing it without all the content i saw for myself, hello games did some terible choices at the start but i can honestly say the redeemed themselfs, they are already rich so plz hello game just keep investing in that game, keep up what you are doing, no micro transactions, no extra money for nothing! you are heroes !! keep it up
I just want to build my boat...
Just bought it for switch and I am excited to dive in
i'm fairly certain i started in the next update timeframe, i remember being confused for a while when they added power mechanics and i had to redo a lot of my bases since they now need power, i also remember being completely thrown off as to why every vehicle was suddenly huge
Was bought the game only month or so ago. I'm so happy I was. I'd always been intrigued. But never took the plunge. Now I wish I had years ago.
Yeah I literally heard about the game back before it released and thought "oh cool" but the Worlds Part 1 trailer is what convinced me to buy the game. I got my brother in law into it and we play almost everyday, its super fun!
Had this since day 1, a little dissapointed but stuck with it.. believed in it.. I am glad I did.
And none of these overhaul updates were pushed as Purchasable DLC's... What Chads!! I would not have blamed them if they did. They indeed earned back my respect.
They had no choice. The first game they described is not what they were selling. Not at all.
I just started paying this game this week. It’s amazing!
I've been playing NMS since 2017 and I'm still playing it. I always loved it, it's fantastic. I've never played anything like it
The fact that they kept going until they met, the promise is a respectable achievement because some studios will go out of their way to ignore their customers and avoid accountability
one very smart thing they did is building the game thinking about another game
Light no Fire is basically using mechanics from NMS but in a singular world, changing the theme but making use of all they've already build, making it possible to make a even bigger game, thats why i think light no fire will work really well
Just starting playing cuz its on game pass.
