Good overview of the new content in your video. Personally I think "how to unlock X fast" is a problematic approach because people will complain there is no content after rushing through every new piece of the update. For me its about the journey - if I get some nice stuff on the way organically thats even better.
Well, I dunno if it's a glitch, or something specific I need to do... But I have completed the expedition, all but for finalization, so I can get the Community Milestone rewards at the end. I have killed over 50 Brood Mothers on that expedition save...gotten nothing. Switched over to primary save, found Vile Brood planets, repeated killing Brood Mothers 12-15 times....still nothing. Getting pretty frustrated since the only thing I care about is the cosmetic rewards, and can't seem to get those.
@@andrewsoulsby8507 I'm in same boat and the ONLY one I have is the Chitin Mandibles, which we get as a reward in the expedition. The other 4 "drops" i don't have a single one in appearance modifier. I'm now thinking to get these to drop you HAVE to be in normal mode, not expedition.

@MatthaeusLarsRuminski Not the milestones. I was just able to do all that was necessary without getting the liquidator parts for the Minotaur. Still extermination the brood tho. ✊️

@@mikkdc Yeah that's true, and you can get a fair amount regularly. I think you can pause the expedition, once you completely every phase. Which will allow you to return to your primary save, without ending the expedition. Then you can switch back to the expedition "save slot" at the player Hub, right before the event ends to hopefully claim any community goal/milestone rewards aswell!!
Does this have to be done on a NORMAL save? I'm currently playing my normal save but in expedition mode and am not getting ANY of these drops at all. No idea how many of the damn things I've killed now. EDIT: Went back to my normal save, crushed some grubs and on my 4th Brood Mother kill, the Broodling Skull dropped. It may be that expedition mode is bugged and the skulls don't drop or maybe it's intended, to entice people to continue killing the Brood Mothers when not in expedition mode?
My thoughts too - used my main in the expedition, completed everything (apart from the community effort bit, ofc) and only one helm was unlocked, part of the set. Will now try farming back in normal mode with my main to see if I get them

Unrelated but I have to vent. I traded for a s class solar ship at very low price at the start of the game in an outlaw system, but they stole all stuff I had on my ship. wtf lol
Yeah that's annoying but no one stole it, you have to disassemble all upgrades from weapons and ships and also remove all cargo before you scrap or exchange one, nothing transfers automatically in this game. Except for the option to transfer the whole base when you change freighters but you still have to remove the cargo manually, from the freighter itself I mean, not from the cargo containers you can build, those are always safe and accessible from anywhere.
And here's an idea free of charge ('cause I'm sure many in this awesome imaginative community have already thought of it)... because you can summon a Brood Mother wherever you want on a planet, let's build an ARENA BASE and have the BROOD GAMES with BROOD GLADIATORS. Spawn as many of those 'muthas as you dare... and be one of "THOSE WHO ARE ABOUT TO DIE".
so i killed almost 200 broodmothers already in the expedition and i still only have the normal expedition helmet u unlock from completing it am i doing something wrong?

@@metarugia3981 Expedition rewards are unavailable afterwards but they did some redux expeditions around last christmas, where you could acquire old rewards, that could happen again but it'll probably be a while.

its an atlas headgear with autophage construct limbs the limbs can be acquired after you complete the purge and visit a harmonic camp, then you should go to an another system. you will get a mission and then just look in the wiki how to get the limbs the headgear was a part of the omega expedition, if you didnt complete it you cant get it.
I wish i could play, i saw the update and was excited but upon finishing the update i tried to launch the game but it just crashes immediately, i have 0 mods and a more than powerful enough PC to run it, 10/10 game, deleted and gonna wait another year or so till they fix it
@DerEchteBold I've tried to launch it 10 times so far, updated gpu drivers, reboot, reinstalled 4 times, no dice, guess I'll have to wait a month for a hot fix or something, I dont even get an error code Worked just fine before thr 5.0 update

May I ask what your graphic settings are? From day one this game has been sluggish or skippy like slowdown, and this says the same no matter if I put on potato or ultra, the difference is maybe 1% if any. Also with the new graphic update there is no change. I have an i7 11800H and RTX 3070 8gb and 16gb ram, was on win 10 now 11.
@@scottmcclellan5322 make any and all shadow based settings low, get rid of motion blur, make sure you’re on the correct display type based on the monitor you’re using, and see if you can enhance your games frames with the DLSS enhancing option that just got added in this update for the game.
@@MeatyG Shouldn't it be easily possible to have everything on ultra with that setup? The GeForce auto-setup put everything on max even when I had a 2060 and it did run quite fine, a little stuttery now and then but nothing drastic.
@@mikeym6889 I have a little solution, use the blaze javelin to constantly stun her. It isn’t that good, as usually she starts moving again when you reload, but it helped me get all 4 helmets
they really really need to update the jetpacks seriously we should be able to fly around with the jet pack I might contact the devs to see if there is something they can do especially with upgrades

That's the sentinel backpack, called 'Aeron Turbojet', it came with the Autophage race questline, I think it unlocks the first time you solve the puzzle at a harmonic camp, you locate these with an 'Echo Locator' (iIrc) which you get by shooting corrupted sentinels.
The game could add a series of big bosses on each type of planet with more challenges and unlockable items.
Or big cosmos horrors and random space bosses not just ships

Remember: setting must be NORMAL or above to make this bug appear and for me, the helmet reward came after the 5th kill of the massive bug!
doesnt have to be on normal, just any planet will do when you use the grub, difficulty doesnt affect it appearing.

It sucks that I bought nms for ps5 just after the expedition that gives the ship your piloting ended, I really like that ship
they should rerun that expedition and a few others near the end of the year, they've reran others like this for the past few years

IF combat can be improved slightly and have sweet planets you can drop in to like.. raid space pirate strongholds

Yes you're not guaranteed a drop. I had to kill about 20 to get them all.

I fought more than 5 bugs but i didnt get any reward. Do I have to kill one bug per planet?
For some reason grubs won't spawn on any of the vile brood planets, for me anyways...
Nothing drops for me killed 30 so far
Is it currently bugged? 15+ missions and more squashed bugs then I can count, and not a single helm drop for me or my husband.

From my experience I couldn’t get the head rewards while inside the Expedition, what I did was kill some Brood Mothers outside the Expedition

It crashed the very first time after the upload as well for me but no problems since, how often did you try it?

I'm running it just fine on a 1070 laptop. It's hot. Maybe check your thermal throttling?

Every time the brood mother does the attack were she jumps up and lands on her abdomen it crashes my game. I’m on ps5. Any fixes?
