Former 360E owner here. I dont know what kind of psychopath thought it was a good idea to make a 360 ON THE XBOX ONE RELEASE but its still a very good console, had so much memories with it. For anyone wondering, I gave it to my cousin after his 360 S broke.
Got my 360E jesterday as a Gift of a Friend of mine....opened it today and it was Clean like the one in the Video.....i was astonished 😊 No cleaning was needed.....only a new harddrive case and SSD harddrive and i need to buy a Controller 😂

Thanks for the guide. Wasn't too dirty, but thermal paste was definitely old, and the fan was ramping up a lot. Much quieter now. The only part i messed up is i cross threaded a fan screw because my screwdriver was too bulky. It is tight and holds the fan in place but a problem for future me if the fan goes bad. 😂
Just relaying something that helped me with the x-clamp, there are automobile trim removal tools that has one particular tool that works perfectly for the clamp, you will recognize it if you've seen the actual x-clamp tool, basically identical.
Very good guide and crips. Nice camera angles. THank you as it helped mine to clean and re-paste the processor but I used thermal PTM from honeywell rather than normal thermal paste.
Change the rubber that opens and closes the tray. Or if it looks good, boil the rubber in some hot water for about 10 minutes and it will shrink a little. The stretching over the years is what is causing it to not open and close properly

That’s most probably an RROD issue, Red Ring of Death. This is usually repaired by reballing the CPU but cannot be done at home without professional tools

Looks like the 360 e is a little tricker to open I just got 2 Minto white 360s I took apart and replaced the thermal paste in them run like brand new I have a 360 e at some point I'm gonna dig into and do the same thing

There are some revisions regarding CPU, newer versions have smaller CPU, in terms of opening and cleaning they’re basically the same. In terms of performance the newer, the better
You missed something when you assembled it... try to reassemble it correctly by following the video. The cleaning process can not damage the console unless it's assembled incorrectly
Ive emptied and cleaned the entirety of my xbox and it still wont turn on ita cabke is just orange no flash, you you have any idea in whe i could do? Ive umplugged and replugged and tried to turn it on over and over again. I put everything vack in aswell
As far as I understand, your XBox din’t turn on. Cleaning has nothing to do with hardware failure, the cleaning is supposed to make it work better as long as the console is fully working. Did your XBox turn on before the cleaning?

Cleaning can help because without it, hardware components can be in thermal throttling, so the Xbox doesn't run at its full capacity, then you may experience stuttering

Usually achievements and such things are saved online. If so, there is no problem, you just need to log in. If you never logged in on your previous XBOX, I don't think everything will be moved to your new console

I made a lot of progress in several games and i don't want all of the progress to be erased. Also, y'know the screen you can open on TV to check if your xbox is JTAG or the other thing (forgot the name)? I remember checking that by pressing disk button under the power button on the console, but even so there appears to be no signal. Is there a chance that the problem is in the HDMI insert button?

Thermal Paste is measured in watts per meter-Kelvin, that specifies the rate of the heat transfer. W/mK The more W/mK the thermal paste has, the better conductivity and heat transfer, the better results. Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut has 12.5 W/mK while Arctic MX-5 has 6 W/mK. So at least in theory, Grizzly Kryonaut should be a lot better. There is thermal paste with only 2.5 W/mK out there. In your case I wouldn't be worried at this point, because out of service there shouldn't be any big difference between a poor thermal paste and a great thermal paste. The difference should be seen during the time. It's quite hard to tell what cause the noise, maybe there's dust in the cooler fan, maybe if it was not cleaned carefully, is not centered anymore.
I have the same xbox 360 you have and it has a issue where it turns off right away and something it says on for at least an hour or 2 and it overheats is there a way I can easily fix it
@@YesterdaysTech well I did clean the vents and when I let it cool for awhile it still turned off right away and sometimes when I turn it on it'll stay on for at least for an hour then turns off

Don't take out the heatsink screws to remove the board...wtf..anyone not thermal pasting skip that step and unscrew the fan and clean it instead.

A thin layer should be enough, there's no need for too much. They're all pretty much the same, it's not a big difference between them

It’s either a faulty Power Supply or the Console itself. If the PSU is working properly then most probably the Console needs reballing

If it doesn't show signal on TV, the cleaning won't help. Most probably it needs repair

There is no difference between them in terms of disassembly, the only difference is the motherboard on the newer model has a smaller CPU

There are two different versions of XBox 360 E but the teardown process is the same

Makes it last a lot longer, much more quiet and you won’t have overheating problems in games
