- People who smoke inside tend to leave their electronics pretty filthy. I'll be cleaning out a Xbox 360 E that came to me from one of those homes. Just wait until you see what's inside!
Tools needed for this project will be:
Small flat head screwdriver
TR7, TR9, and TR10 sized torx security bits
A spudger or spludger are recommended but not required.

It's sad how technology advances and older tech get left in the dust. Thank you for helping us out I would have up.
If a system has that much tar build up after a couple years, imagine what their lumgs looks like.
I don't even know how long this smoker had the system. The 360E was the last model released, and this one had a used price sticker on it.
I'd assume they chain smoked while playing.
I had a friend years back that would burn out new consoles under a year from doing just that.
Thanks for this video! My gf has this exact model and it keeps overheating and shutting down, even though the interior of the console is relatively clean and dust free, so I figured the paste needed replacing, but I've never used thermal paste before so had no idea how to do it!
Thanks for the vid man u made my life alot easier
what did you wipe the plastic frames with? I’ve been dying to know
Recently found my old 360, its dirty as hell but still works, now i just have to clean it
Really enjoyed what I could watch. RUclips seems to not want to buffer smaller channels and I could barely get halfway through. Great video though!
Thanks for your support. It really means a lot. Us smaller channels really seem to get put on the wayside.
if you pop the draw open then pop of the draw outter chrome edge dont lose the clip' the front then is easy to get to the clips i leave the ribbon intact just carefully remove the ribbon stuck to the chassie ..........
How we buyed 2015 we opened low dirt and i played very much
What type of screw holds the wifi card?
If memory serves me right, it's a T8 bit I used
There is no screw for the wifi card in mine. Even worse accessibility
As long as it's seated properly and isn't banged around a lot, the screw shouldn't make a huge difference
My console looking red light in on xbox 360 but my xbox 360 fan is dirty dust he work slow 🐌 and console show red light right or not plese help mee
How many Red lights are on? Or is there an error code that your TV is displaying?
@@RetroKevin E 82 ERROR CODE iam from Pakistan
@@shahsahanasjaavama8471 I don't think error codes change by region. But I would recommend following the teardown I did in this video.
When everything is off the motherboard and it's cleaned try reflowing the solder by running a heat gun over the top of it. Keep the heat gun moving over the whole board about 15-20 cm above the board.
If you don't have a heat gun a hair dyer on high setting may do the trick. It will need to be held closer to the board as well.
Make sure and have some thermal compound/paste before doing this. As that will need to be replaced as well.
Best of luck!
Hello. I was looking to see if you are interested in repairing some n64 consoles. I have a few that are beyond my experience
Sorry I didn't reply to you sooner. Message me on discord and we can set something up.

@@RetroKevin Hey, seeing you talked to them, happen to know how to reflow the Southbridge chip on the 360 E, could possibly make a video on it too, would be neat to watch.
Man, that was gross...🤢Good video, but... now i have the urge to get up and wash my hands.😅
I did a restoration of a 20xx PS3 Slim 2 or 3 months ago which i bought from a smoker and it was in similar state (greasy brownish dust balls all over the place and even inside the PSU). Iirc, there had to be even some liquid spilled all over the place (the metal housing and drive were partially corroded).
BTW, i'm a smoker myself, but don't smoke indoors or in vicinity of other people. I really despise those selfish f*cks who do.
It's really hard to get the smoke smell out of this stuff.
If this was for a resale I would have done a lot more for cleaning. But it was going back to the original owner.
Still doesnt seems very clean but fine
Fair enough...
This went back to the original owner who is a smoker.
If this was for resale the cleaning would have been a lot better, but that's fine.
