This is the best Xbox 360 slim take apart guide on RUclips. Every other guy makes you break the plastic rivets on the side panels and no other guide shows you the secret pinhole on the back to easily separate the top and bottom. Thank you this helped me restore my $5 find of an Xbox 360 slim man that paste was super dry almost powder.

I been repairing electronics for over 18years now and i feel its good to help people out during this hard times and i always try to listen to feedback's that people leave and try to improve, i do speak 5 lang, i can reach out to those that don't speak ENG too.
i seen many videos as you say they don't give you full detail or how to put it back together the parts that are removed. i apologize for the back audio quality or old video quality i'm working on improve the quality everything that i ear from youtube goes back into getting better quality for my viewers.
the sad part is that i'm trying to do some positive action in the youtube community and i get very little view or subs , but if i make a video on for example "how to destroy your laptop or consoles " i would get millions of hit :/
but i ratter keep it educational and positive actions.
i appreciate your awesome and motivational feedback.

Around 8 years ago, i repaired my console at a local shop and they never used the secret pinhole in the back lol, they forced the casing and it has some scratches in the plastic panels, with thhis video i opened the console very smoothly and without having to force anything. thank you again for sharing the knowledge and making a great video straight to the point.

i always ask my self the same question, having a laptop or console its like having a car, a car needs a oil change and maintenance to run optimal, it would still run without oil change but it will have more risk of breaking down.
same on consoles and laptops , thermal paste and fan oil and cleaning its a service that must be done every year.
for example take a look at this ps4s and if your jaw still not dropped then i would change the channel name :P

      @@uFixTekYour welcome! :D
I took it apart to the point where i could see the components, and dusted them all off, i sadly cant and didn’t repaste it, because sadly i dont have thermal paste currently.
i got so anxious when i took the front panel off, because i was afraid to rip it, which..sadly happened to my xbox one, and then it broke a half of a year later.
So, im on my 360 for now.
But thanks to you, i got confident again to clean it internally. I thank you so much, due to my xbox one trauma :P

Thank you for this video! Just repasted a new-to-me (but previously... "Well-loved") 360 Slim. It would seemingly at random freeze, getting stuck on a glitched out screen. I went back and forth a couple of times, but ultimately decided to repaste. This video was amazing to follow, and so far everything seems okay. I'll have to edit this comment after I've gotten some hours in my games!

@@uFixTek The noises at the start up come from inside the disc drive, they dont sound bad and are pretty similar to the sort of mechanical noise you hear when you start or place a disc in other consoles such as PS2, they only concerned me because they werent there before, Im not going to risk opening the disc drive just to see if theres anything to be done about the noise.
The fan also seems to be somehow loose? Like it moves down a bit but springs back up, making this rattling sound if the console is shaken or the surface its placed on is knocked.
Also while opening it for the second time was easier one of the clips broke. Fun way to find out that superglue actually somewhat corrodes the surface of the outer plastic of the console.
Overall I came much worse off trying to get rid of any potential dust when there were no other reason to open the console.

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  Год назад

The fan casing may be a bit loose, and the fan blades may move up and down, but those are normal. As for the sound coming from the DVD drive, it's due to the loose magnet plate that covers the DVD. There's nothing to worry about.
It's important not to use super glue on plastic as the acid in the glue can damage the plastic finish. Instead, you can use nail glue designed for women. It has the same adhesive properties without the acids that can harm the plastic. It provides the same strength of adhesion.

i'm thinking of a fan clean up, i've never taken apart any console or have any general knowledge on it, or even the tools to do so. I've taken a 360 controller apart but for some unknown reason it went kind of bad since the controller's interior parts shake around when the controller moves, although still functions technically, hence i'm scared about taking the console apart. Owned it since 2012, never opened ever.
Is there a guide to cleaning the fan without taking it apart?

regarding your question: YES , you can repair this at home, remove the motherboard and place it on a wood surface, and make sure there is no air-condition or fan blowing to the board. then you want to grab a hair dryer and set it to the max heat and medium fan and hold it straight over GPU for 10mi and then same 10 min over CPU.
after let it cool down at room temp don't move or touch the board for 15min. repaste and enjoy.
