      @@generalshroomsThats called a short circuit, so the best conductor would get the most power through it. For example if you have a 1 ohm resistor and a 2 ohm resistor wired in parallel, the 1 ohm one is going to blow out first because it resists current the least. Same with the pencil lead, more graphite = better conductivity = lower resistance. And we know that electricity flows through the path of least resistance so go figure. And also it appears thar the apsara pencil lead had a fracture beforehand, as Graphite doesnt really melt at that spot or that easily

    • @user-fu69times

      @@generalshrooms it has lesser resistance than other paths thats y more current passed through it making it burn
      As for why it has lower resistance
      Its cuz its cross sectional area is higher
      Ans resistance is inversely proportional to that

  • @АлексейПермяков-б2щ

    It's all about the composition of the pencil lead. Hard 4H, more clay and less graphite (less graphite in the composition, therefore less electrical conductivity and more resistance, which means less current flows through the lead). The opposite situation is with soft 5B, more graphite and less clay (more graphite in the composition, therefore greater electrical conductivity and less resistance, which means more current flows through the lead). And since the cross-sectional area of the lead of a 5B pencil is too small to withstand the current passing through it for a long time, it heats up and breaks down, I think electricians will understand.

    • @petsan97
      @petsan97 13 дней назад

      Yup, and since they're connected in parallel, the current delivered is limited by the total resistance, not each individual pencil.
      Meaning that when the 5B pencil drops out, the drop in total resistance produces a sharp increase in current which is why the middle one lights on fire almost immediately.

    The resistance is the same in all pencils.
    The resistance increases with each tier.
    The bottom pencil has a resistance of R. The middle pencil has a resistance of R plus the resistance of the wire. So that's R + WR.
    The top pencil has a resistance of (R + WR) and (R2 + WR2).
    This proves nothing.
