- Hi everyone, thank you for 21:10 of your time. In this video we restored abandoned XBOX 360 Slim. It's an old console that previous owner lose interest about using it, clean it or do anything with, but this console isn't yet to finish in trash, for parts or be abandoned. The XBOX 360 have very wide support about games, the games can be found cheaper compared to the other consoles and this thing can still provide very great and fun experience.

The attention to detail on your refurbishment is amazing, I would have recommended buying an HDD caddy to support the HDD on the HDD to keep it a little more stable, they simply slot in :)

I love the mod!!! The only concern I have about copying this for my XBOX is I am afraid the dust would get on the DVD laser lens and require cleaning more often now that it is cut open. Either way, this is awesome!!

Although I won't ever try to do your paint style - I really enjoy the outcome. Adding the open acrylic area was a great addition!
I have one of these that is Parental Locked. I have heard I can either contact MS, get a mod chip, or possibly do some part transplants to unlock it. Havent decided, I have many Xboxes to mod and restore lol. This is great inspiration!!

I have as a personal project to restore and improve my Xbox 360, this video helps me a lot to know what to do, thanks Andrew.
I still have my console in mint conditions, never opend or chiped with like 42 games. Is a great console
Nowadays is rare to see something like that, mostly when people get new stuff the old one is forgotten
I got one two from a friend. With two pads never chipped. Tho I don’t have games I don’t know if chipping is a good idea?
Probably a wise idea to open it and replace the thermal grease on the cpu/gpu though. The stock thermal paste microsoft used was pretty mediocre and replacing it with Arctic MX-4 will keep the system running really cool. Personally if I was gonna get another 360 I'd get a phat Jasper model because the CPU/GPU on those don't have a lid and it's easier to add thermal paste to the die which keeps the chips overall cooler.

2:30 Honestly that clip is such a pain in the ass for me I deliberately snapped it off after I got the console open
This took me a long back when for the first time I open Xbox S, I brake that clip 😀
There is a hole behind the sticker, you just need to press it with the clip and its going to open very easy

One of my friends often had troubles with the overheating power adapter. He solved this with a Dremel, by cutting some holes in the plastic cover to get a better air flow ^^

Man the 4GB slim is the prettiest console ever, it is so well designed and durable. The only issue is the way it goes together is a pain for repairing them and the vents are kind of fragile and break frequnetly

This looks amazing just wondering why didn't you rgh3 the console while you were at it?
You don't need to break out the inner plastic on the end panels. All you need is a long tool to reach into the holes over each clip, and release the clip. Then the end caps pull off in one piece. It doesn't "sound" like you're going to break the plastic, you "are" breaking the plastic doing it the way shown in this video.

I have a question. On the disk drive mod. Did you use any type of acrylic/ plexiglass on it or is it just open?

Very very cool restoration and mod!! Just a suggestion, especially because you put a HDD into the XBOX, I'd recommend getting a cheap, aftermarket XBOX 360 slim HDD enclosure to prevent damage to the HDD while it's just hanging in its hole there :D Really enjoyed the video, amazing job!
