    I bought a Neonic two months ago after seeing the specs. Have used Paddletech and Selkirk for years. Love this paddle. I have plenty of power. Wanted control and spin. This paddle delivers. One happy camper.

    Thanks for the recommendations, tried to order the AISO Centric but they’re on backorder for awhile. Wound up ordering your #1 choice the Neonic Force. Hopefully it suits my tennis-based play style as the inexpensive Versix Ascent 5C that I started pickleball with has issues with shape/reach and too small a sweet spot.

    Great reviews. I own Neonic Force and enjoy it’s quality features ! Pop daddy.
    I also own Valtic and get very high quality control out of it.
    In the case of high quality, value paddles you might also consider : Hudef Viva pro GEN 2 . Really enjoy it’s all around playability.
    Keep up the good work !

    • @PickleballMedicine
      @PickleballMedicine  7 месяцев назад

      That might be a fun one to do! I think it would also be pretty hard, since I think the shape distribution of paddle performance and quality is sort of pyramid shaped... with the top few having some good reasons to stand out, and then as you slowly creep away from the top of the list, more and more paddles becoming increasingly similar, in my opinion!

  • @Jack-yx2zh

    I have the Neonic and love it. Great power and spin. I also use a Hyperion and find the Neonic handle not as comfortable. Also, it seems like the sweet spot is a little lower on the face than I was expecting. But when I'm playing against players where I can use the extra power I go to the Neonic.

    • @PickleballMedicine
      @PickleballMedicine  7 месяцев назад

      It's a solid paddle, glad you enjoy it!! I appreciate the fact that it's such a good performing paddle that could probably sell for much more, but they've kept a consumer friendly price point

    • @PickleballMedicine
      @PickleballMedicine  7 месяцев назад

      Oh interesting.. I will definitely always love the Legacy Pro paddles, do you think the 14mm is more or less poppy than the original?

    • @douglasmurdoch7247
      @douglasmurdoch7247 7 месяцев назад

      @@PickleballMedicine I've actually never hit the original! But it's quite a light paddle for the shape, probably because it's 14mm and has the slightly longer handle. So it doesn't have that much plowthrough, the power is just average. But the pop is nice. But I feel the pop moreso when I want it, for counters, but for drops and dinking it seems pretty controlled.

    For anyone who loves a soft control paddle with high spin, give the 16mm Rev Aria a try. It's non-thermoformed - so it's a bit different than the 14mm Rev Aria Pro that took Dustin's #4 spot in this video. But I think you'll love it too 👍

    I wonder if you tried the new HUDEF Mage Pro? My wife is soon due for an upgrade, and it's at the top of her list with the vatic Prism flash. Very good review, so I'll recommend this review to players moving from entry paddles to those in the $100 range. I play the Viva Pro Gen 2, Vatic Pro V7 16mm and the Diadem 18k Power pro, all weighted to 8.3 oz, with spin and similar play-ability, but the Diadem cost $100 more. Today I'm playing with wifey and friends at a lower level, so I'll change out paddles and see if I find subtle differences. ATM, I think I over paid for my new Diadem 18k. Like you mention, dozens of paddles under $130 that will play to the 5.0 level without sacrifice. Thanks again for the review. Maybe a review of paddles between $129-169?

      Great question and good observations..
      Yes, I actually just finished up reviewing (haven't put together the content for a video yet) for the Mage Pro, and it's great! Very good paddle and maybe a slight upgrade to VPF at this point, in my opinion... and just a tad cheaper @ $85 with a discount code, too. You're welcome to use my code for the (PBMED) or reach out to me for specific differences there, but I am getting ready to do a part 2 to this list, and I am certain the Mage Pro will be on it.

    Is the handle length on the Aiso Centric the same as the Neonic? I really mean to ask is a two hand backhand any easier on the Aiso than the Neonic?

    • @PickleballMedicine
      @PickleballMedicine  7 месяцев назад

      I think they technically measure the same, but I felt like the way the face tapers on the Aiso makes a two-handed backhand a little easier on the Aiso Centric.

    i watched your other video, top 5 paddles for beginners. which do you prefer: vatic pro prism flash or friday paddle?

    • @PickleballMedicine
      @PickleballMedicine  5 месяцев назад +1

      I think that depends on the person and the particular things they are looking for from their paddle, but if you're asking about me, specifically... I would prefer the Friday paddles. They have better power and have a bit more tools to work with than the vatic, in my opinion, but that's just me!

    • @wilierlizard5249
      @wilierlizard5249 5 месяцев назад

      Oh ok. Im very new to pickleball, and i seem to have trouble controlling where i hit the ball. Would you say those paddles would both help me control the ball better? If they help me control about the same amount i would rather save money and go with the friday paddle. If the vatic is much better at control then id rather spring for the extra 30 bucks to get that. Sorry for the barrage, i have played 3 times and currently have a $5 wooden paddle. Im curious to see how much of a difference it makes. Thank you for your advice.

    • @PickleballMedicine
      @PickleballMedicine  5 месяцев назад

      I think either the Vatic or the Aiso Ventric would be the way to go for you, then.. both of those are great for control! Should be much better than a wooden paddle, haha. Or if you like the look of a newer paddle called the Hudef Mage Pro, it's come out since I made this video and it actually a little cheaper ($85), has a lifetime warranty, and comes with a leather/polyester paddle case. Between the Mage Pro, Aiso Centric, and Vatic, they are all great choices and I would just choose whichever one you feel like, bwcuase you want really go too wrong!

    How about Sword and shield J2 from Honolulu Pickleball co.?

    • @PickleballMedicine
      @PickleballMedicine  7 месяцев назад +1

      I actually saw another reviewer put that paddle high on their list, but I had not previously known much about it. It looks like a cool paddle, but I haven't personally played with it so I cannot speak to it's playability. It seems to check a lot of boxes, on paper, for what a person would look for in a good paddle, but I wouldn't be able to say without trying it!
      Another thing that may make me hesitate to put it on this list in particular, though, is the final price point being under $100 during a sale. I've heard that that price may be low for a little bit, but that fact that it is a sale price from it's usual $140+ range would give me a little hesitancy to include it in a non- seasonal list, if that makes sense. If I end up trying it, I'll let you know my thoughts!
