    Just switched from my Legacy pro to the Vatic Prism flash. What an awesome paddle! Giving up some put away power for better control, defense, and swing weight was well worth it.

      I also switched. I tried to go back to my Legacy, but it was way too poppy . I find I need control over power.

    Solid. Dope to see the Sapphire and Prism up there. Was not expecting the Adidas at all. Best part about these videos is sometimes you just don't know what's out there and Chris finds it for us. That R2.16 shape... wild.

    I've been a Vatic user for a while now and was shocked that how I liked the Prism even more than the more expensive thermoform paddles. The Prism is just crazy good and beats even the $300 paddles I've used

    Great info. I have been playing with the Sapphire for a couple of weeks and really like that paddle. I feel the sweet spot might be kind of small. Its my gateway paddle to test the pickleball waters to make sure I like the sport before dropping more money on a better paddle. I have really enjoyed playing so I just ordered a Volair Mach 1 Forza yesterday since they are "in stock." Based on tracking I should have it tomorrow.

    Don't sleep on the a11n Zenith C7 though... surprisingly powerful for a paddle under $100. I actually like it better than the Vatic Prism Flash and about the same as Ronbus R1.16 or R3.16. Maybe I had a junker Prism Flash, but either way, a11n is better than I expected.

    Hey Chris, you mentioned a couple videos ago about how toray T700 had become a bit of a buzzword and how the texture was actually soft underneath, and that it was actually the resin that was creating grit feel and spin.
    My question is: how does raw carbon fiber work with this resin material (to provide better performance) vs. cheap fiber and/or old school spray on grit?

    I'd say the Hudef Apex Pro deserves more than an honorable mention due to its $75 price for an excellent Gen1 control paddle with Toray T700. It does have the dreaded exposed polymer in the handle. I added some side covers and wrapped it with an overgrip, problem solved.

      Yup I agree with you on this, that paddle is definitely slept on. It's easily a CRBN 2 for almost $100 cheaper. The closest in price to it is the Bison Rampage which costs $25 more

    The BALLR Pro should be in the top 5. Just picked one of these up and it is an absolute steal at $89 bucks with a 10% off coupon. Not thermoformed but plays better than some of my thermoformed paddles. The control and touch are excellent and I can actually drive the ball with a ton of power thanks to the super long handle.

    I got the Ronbus R1.16 a month or so ago and living it so far. The R2.16 looks so goofy to me.
    Is the prism thermoformed, or is the foam injection something different?

    • @zachcarmichael699
      @zachcarmichael699 Год назад

      R2 was supposed to be for those who prefer the 16x8 standard shape with shorter handle that some players like (and ping pong). But I've heard Ronbus may go with a traditional shape for the R2 next time instead of the rounded. Personally I think they should mimic the Joola Scorpeus shape.

    I got the prism v7. Love the price but there is absolutely no power. This is definitely a control paddle. Also, the swing weight on the v7 is too high. Maybe the prism flash is better. Chris, what would be a good value paddle w low swing weight, carbon fiber surface, 13-14 mm, 5-5.5 grip. I just playedd w someone’s Volair Mach 1 14 mm and liked it. More I play the more I think swing weight is important. I think sacrificing on grip length is ok for faster hands.
