    You keep saying (and writing) "Vatic Pro Prism" but the paddle you're using is actually the Vatic Pro Prism Flash - there's a difference between the Prism, and the Prism Flash. Please don't confuse potential purchasers by citing the wrong model. It's the Prism Flash that is an excellent paddle, and value for the money, as you've confirmed. It's my preferred paddle.

    Love your format; ranking the paddles in different categories such as spin, pop, control, and then talk about the racket separation in those categories is SUPER helpful. Many people have a characteristic preference, i.e. control, power, and this helps the video viewer more knowledgeable. And, hey, that’s why we’re here!
    I don’t do Instagram, so no giveaway prize for me, I guess…😉

    i've watched a ton of review videos and find yours very well organized and broken down nicely. when doing comparisons, i think it's nice to have an overlay or slide that lists the specs side by side to see the differences, rather than trying to remember each spec for each specific paddle. in general, more copy to keep information top of mind

    I always like how you put together your videos. Very professional looking and smooth. I like the segmentation of the different comparison and features category. I also like the giant looking paddle shot. Very good. It would have been nice if when you were talking about the features to have them also written so it shows on the screen and have a sort of spread sheet side by side comparison of the 3 paddles. not just laying them down on the table.

  • @quy-le
    @quy-le 7 месяцев назад +1

    Nice video for the new year! This is a timely video as a lot of newbies are looking to upgrade their paddles but don't want to spend more than $100. As others have noted, having screen text/overlay on Specs would be valuable. Also, showing text for #1, #2, #3 and what dimensions (Pop, Power, Control, Spin) you are ranking for in Comparisons segment will help for those looking for a quick comparison w/o audio. Having a comparison table at the end of the Specs & Comparisons segment would help summarize all the numbers/rankings since folks may prioritize power vs spin vs control.
    I really like the Terminology section with rallies related to them, ie Pop vs Power - I would do more of that.
    It would be good to discuss impact of twist weight and swing weight in relation to tennis/pickleball elbow as that is a big concern for converted tennis players as well as older players.
    Also, you can have some honorable mentions for paddles you didn't get a chance to review or talk about upcoming paddles you plan to review.

    All the intros are straight fire! Keep up with the dope intros and sweet sounds in the background. Not sure if the world likes more quick clicks that get straight to the point or enjoy these in depth/short to mid timed videos. I enjoy them and hopefully others agree ❤

    Really nicely done on the video. You did a great job explaining why you chose the paddles you did along with some more technical information like twist weight and swing weight. I liked how you presented the paddle specs with the different angled shot. I think the only thing I would add is some on screen text for that portion. Everything else regarding the video and sound were super solid. Keep up the great content!

    I appreciate your interest in being cinematic and using perspective. The intro was a little long so I skipped ahead. I’m pretty familiar with terminology, so I skipped ahead after twist weight. Your voice is calm and easy to listen to. You provided good details. To step up talking about specs-add text on screen if you can.
    Did you mention 16 mm vs 14 mm?

    I liked that you gave a realistic intro and tried to setup the video for a beginner. One thing is that you discussed a lot of the specs and important features like power/pop etc and what they mean but they totally flew over my head. So numbers / short bullet points on the screen would be helpful. I can't keep it all in my head

    I believe it’s X S Pak…great paddle for people who’s just starting and may not have to even upgrade for the first year. At $20 cheaper than the VP, it may be pound for pound the winner of the group. (I have both and played both extensively.)

    What would be helpful is to include the weight of the paddles in the specs. I'm an upper beginner playing for 6 months and having started with a standard Amazon paddle, am now ready to invest in an upgrade. Paddle weight is a consideration as I'm beginning to feel some wrist strain. Many pickle-ballers are 60+ and this is a fairly common concern from what I've seen. As far as the video itself.. I liked the outside segments, they were well done. For the interior footage you may want to survey what you're shooting in the background on the room (blackboard and stuff hanging on it). It's not a big deal, but visually it's kind of distracting. Hope that doesn't hurt your feelings.

  • @jorowi
    @jorowi 7 месяцев назад +1

    I have to agree that the VP Prism is a great all-round paddle for the price. Explaining the terminology was a nice touch, most people who review paddles mention the terms and stats but don't explain what they mean. The only thing I'd change is to do the review on-court. Nearly everyone reviews paddles in a studio. It's kinda boring. If I can go outside when it's windy and 35F, you can go outside in Austin!

    Great video. I really appreciate that your content is appeals to different audiences within the pickleball world. Buying from innovators might cost a little helps promote paddle technology and the growth of the sport as a whole.

    I have wanted to start learning to play pickleball and went and watched yesterday and a local tournament in Raleigh and got really excited to learn, so, need a paddle. Have watched many to look for beginner paddle that will give me great experience to start.
    Your video was very helpful and think confirmed paddle I want to get.
    Many have said to get a cheaper paddle “ just to see if I like pickleball” but I want one nice enough that it gives me a good idea of play and if I will enjoy.

      14 vs 16 as I’ve chosen paddle based off many videos and your review. See so many different opinions on 14 vs 16. What is best for beginner to beginner intermediate?

      Probably 16. A little more forgiving because of the thicker core. A little more stable.

    Happy New Year, Brian 🎉🐲 Good info given about the 3 paddles but written graphics (spec info) would help newbies see the specs better. Your big paddle little Brian perspective was different but distracted from the specs you rattled off. I liked how you did the wrap up comparisons and ranked the three paddles in order for the various criteria. You didn’t mention warranties, return policies, nor customer service for the paddles. I’ve enjoyed your videos and look forward to seeing more from you in 2024.

    Love your attempt to add your own touch and flavor to this side of pickleball! I think you’re on to something, I would maybe invest in getting a Briffidi and actually put the specs on the screen for swingweight and twistweight. I would also put the paddle specs on the screen even if in front of you one by one as you mention them. You could also experiment with this part or make sure to put marks on the floor for the paddle and camera so that everything looks as even as possible on the screen. The video could have less beginner info but I also understand this was an introduction and now you can refer people to this video if they don’t know that information so that works out better for you in the end. I did enjoy watching you talking to the camera like every other paddle reviewer does but maybe I’m just trained that way now? Haha I think you can find a happy medium with everything you did and make a more compact yet more informative video all together. I’m excited for more and I don’t blame you for trying this route out. Hope this helps, man! 🙌

    • @buildingpickleball
      @buildingpickleball  7 месяцев назад

      Hm I never really thought of a paddle like that. I guess it depends on what you’re looking for in a serve? Like maybe spin, power, pop, control.
      I don’t believe those are thermoformed. I think the Jucao (sp?) ones are. That’ll add some more power. I do think the Xspak has considerable spin and grit. I’m also noticing the newer paddles having a diff type of texture, feels a lot more gritty.
