A couple of years ago, for my wife's 50th birthday, I surprised her by renting a theater for all of our family and we watched this. It's our favorite Christmas movie. The actress you couldn't think of playing Buddy's girlfriend/future baby elf mama is Zoey Deshenel but with blonde hair. It's usually black hair. She was also the star of the TV show New Girl.
I can think of only 2 people who could have played Buddy: Will Ferrell, and the late Robin Williams. Watching Will Ferrell act in his free child state is like watching a miracle.

Macys was on west 34th street according to the Christmas movie classic "A Miracle on 34th St." Buddy enters Gimbel's from the West 35th Street entrance according to the sign on the wall. I guess the stores were right across the street from each other.
Blue is as cute, as cuddly and as feisty as a racoon....yup, that is definitely her spirit animal. My spirit animal is a horse, because I am free spirited and free minded.
