- Jaby and Hayley react to Buddy’s (Will Ferrell) crazy escapades and unforgettable moments that made Elf a seasonal tradition.
We did this reaction before Christmas but unfortunately couldn’t put it out in time due to complications. We hope everyone can still enjoy our late holiday reaction, & we also hope everyone has a happy new year.

I have worked at several places with a locker room and showers, including factories, a call center, and a college campus. A shower room is just another workplace amenity, more common at jobs that require long hours
I can tell Jaby was struggling with this one because he is so logical and thinks about realism always. And always has trouble with movies just being movies without much realism to them.
Yeah, he kinda seems like a drag to watch movies with.

If someone didn’t mention it already, the head elf that asks Buddy about his toy quota was played by Peter Billingsley, who was also the lead - Ralphie - in the classic “A Christmas Story” (“You’ll shoot your eye out, kid”)

It is interesting that not many people do pick up on that when they watch this movie. The thing is that he looks exactly the same as when he was a kid. That same look of the eyes. I like the other movie he was in a couple years before A Chrsitmas Story called 'Death Valley'.I grew up in the 80's watching that film. It usually was shown on weekend basic cable channels. Had Wilford Brimley in it as well.
Zooey Deschanel has a beautiful singing voice & is 1/2 of the musical duo She & Him. She also sang a duet (“On the Island”) with the legendary Brian Wilson on his album No Pier Pressure.

I think they wanted to be the opposite of Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer Movie. They wanted to be nicer to him instead of mean and bully him.

Man. Will Ferrell’s line delivery is just perfect. “I like to whisper too.” “No, it’s not.” “Francisco.” “Buddy the elf, what’s your favorite color.” And him eating the cotton balls. So many great lines and moments. He just nails the character so much 😂
When he answers the phone: "Buddy the elf, what's your favorite color!" I completely lost it the first time I saw it. I love this movie!

How does Die Hard qualify as a Christmas movie in the first place, much less a favorite Christmas movie?!?! That is very surprising! Not the endearing nostalgia of A Christmas Story or the life lessons of It's A Wonderful Life or even a timeless classic like A Christmas Carol or something unique like The Ref. No, Die Hard, which has what to do with Christmas, exactly??

JABY, just… No. No matter how much you want Larry David to be the father in this movie, the whole cast was perfect and a testament to why this is a revered Christmas classic.
And you can see James Caan turn around and start laughing when Will Ferrell got pricked on the finger and had his reaction. Lol

Will Farrell said that at the premiere James Caan came up to him and said that during the shooting he thought Will Farrells acting was too over the top, so he thought it would be a flop, but after watching it at the premiere he finally got what he was going for. So maybe Caans energy was down cuz he thought he was in a crappy movie

Jaby''s convinced me. They need to do this exact same story with Will Ferrel as an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. I just feel like "Character" Larry would have so much fun with this. I don't know what you'd call it, but it needs to be made immediately. Also suggesting THE REF with Kevin Spacey and Dennis Leary for next year. My personal favorite Christmas movie, and easily one of the most underrated.
The Ref. Yes! Abso-freakin-lutely! I don't get why no one watches The Ref. Maybe next year. So many of the reactors watch the same movie within a few weeks of each other, like this year several of them suddenly pulled out Trading Places from out of nowhere. And that has zero to do with Christmas, unlike The Ref.
Obviously, nothing with Kevin Spacey is going to age particularly well. And it's not that well-known, so I get why we don't see more reactions to it. It's just too bad bc it's SO GODDAMN FUNNY.
