And the most motivating Chanel iiiiiiiissssss….That Awkward MOM!!!! While listening on you, I sorted all the recycling bags (!), I emtied the dishwasher, I did the dishes, I sweeped the countertops, I got dressed to shoes, I got started for the day!!! Yeah!! Thank YOU!!! 😍😅❤️
My son was working on a project in the adjacent room but was apparently totally invested in this video. When it went to an ad right before the results, his head popped up and he asked, "But who did it better?!" Thanks for an informative and fun video.
Organized Mom for me. I’d highly suggest her Rock The Housework guided cleaning sessions. There are a couple of free ones including a wonderful after dinner kitchen clean. It’s like having a calm best friend who cares deeply about you helping you get through one of the hardest jobs of the day when you’re already exhausted.
I have to say, watching Clean Mama and Organized Mom battle it out in their cleaning routines was more exciting than any sports game I've ever seen. Who knew that laundry and dusting could be so riveting? I think I might have to start a cleaning routine showdown of my own, just to keep the thrills coming!
When you get done with this series I hope you show us what your own ideal cleaning routine would be. I agree about the dishes being a must. If I don’t do the dishes daily, they start to take over the kitchen and start multiplying. And that’s the week company always wants to come over. When you have a dirty bathroom or a pile of dishes. 😂
We have a dishwasher at our house but only a sink in our camper and it’s a really small one. I’ve learned it’s a necessity to wash up after every meal. I have Corelle dishes and stainless silverware but we use disposables for some stuff to keep the sanity. There’s no place for a drainer other than on the stove which can pose some issues so we dry everything as we go. At home my dw gets turned on at 8 with the drying heat off. So right before bed I open it to let stuff dry. The first thing I do when I get up is unload it because if I don’t my husband puts dirty stuff in and I hate that
Thank you for another great video! I'm happy to hear you got a dishwasher! I still like the fly lady I don't know if it's the first one I learned. I just retired and felt I needed a more detailed cleaning schedule for declutering and deep cleaning. Thank you for all the research you provide.
Me too. I use BWP aka Flylady for weekly and daily cleaning and use Clean Mama for rotating and infrequent stuff. I hate zones because they don’t line up with calendar very well. I want to do my kitchen monthly cleaning on Monday and maybe carry over thru the week and repeat again after five weeks. I think thrrr was an old website called organization station that I’ve used - sorta zone like.
Key for Organized Mama: change the rooms to fit your household needs. When I saw your 1st video on that system I immediately felt like I could do that one, went to her website, looked at it as a guide and wrote up my own schedule. As I did it I changed things, like I realized that my livingroom needs to be cleaned twice a week. I also only have 4 days to clean since my twins only go to preschool 4 days a week. The system I figured out for my house: Daily: bathroom, dining table, empty dishwasher (the whole system fell apart when the dishwasher broke, and now we are moving so we aren't going to buy a new dishwasher. I miss having a dishwasher!) Monday: living room and dining room floor (since table is daily) Tuesday: kitchen (since I am doing dishes daily I only need to clean the kitchen once a week) Wednesday: no clean cause no school, and twins' laundry Thursday: my (and maybe baby's) bedroom/office Friday: livingroom/ dining room floor Laundry I was still figuring out when the dishwasher broke and I gave up, but I have theory about how it might work best. Epiphany 1: doing laundry everyday does not mean doing all of the laundry everyday, just one kind of laundry. Epiphany 2: start one load in the morning and fold the laundry I washed and dried yesterday during the time the twins are at school since folding has always been the hardest part for me. Unfortunately, this is the part I haven't tested yet,but I think it could work! I am excited to have a dishwasher again and actually feel in control of how clean/dirty my house is. It absolutely is not the cleanest, but it is the 1st time it has felt manageable since becoming a mom and it is SO refreshing! I also love how once the 45 min is up, I know I have done my cleaning responsibilities and can just enjoy being a mom without the nagging feeling that I need to be cleaning. This has been life changing and not overwhelming at all, I highly recommend it.
This was fun to watch! Thanks for taking the time to video, edit and share with your audience. Everyone should appreciate the extra work (besides working and being a parent) involved in doing what you do :) I hope you do something on A Slob Comes Clean Dana K White at some point (although she doesn't market specific sets of cleaning rituals, so might be difficult to compare).
@@mljs9245 I remember when she started and her website was so minimal and easy to navigate. I had a friend with ADHD and thought the Fly Lady system would work for her. but hadn't been on the site for awhile. My friend was so overwhelmed by the site she never went back. I love her app though!
I just love your videos! I find you funny, down-to earth-and practical. I appreciate that your house looks like a “real” house with a real family instead of a picture perfect, super expensive home. I love that you work with what you’ve got. Thanks for being you. Can’t wait until we get a cleaning routine from Awkward Momma. Woot! Woot!
I love the working mom tie breaker. I think there should be. A working mom series/episodes. It seems like a lot of cleaning routines are a reason why working moms struggle to stick with these. I also pull certain routines from multiple routines to make it custom fit for me. I love CM check floors, wipe counters. I love FL launchpad and WHB 10 min tasks for 1 hour. I only have 2 good days to clean since I work 12 hour NIGHTS 2 days a week. I'm totally invested in your channel especially this series! Keep up the great work!
I love the organized Mum method. I started following it in the fall and the house has never been cleaner! It is so simple because you basically just do one room or section of your house per day for 30 minutes on top of your daily tasks. The Friday focus is for deep decluttering or deep cleaning. She recommends doing the sheets on the bedroom day ,which is Tuesday, so that’s when you’re supposed to do that. I used to do clean mama but I would never get to the deep cleaning stuff because it was just a lot to keep up with to do it every month and rotate that and I love tackling a deep cleaning area once a week in my home. Hands down to me it is phenomenal (for my brain anyway…) it is SIMPLE to keep up with!! It’s also easy to adjust for your home. For example, on the entryway and stairs and hall… I don’t have stairs. So I do the entryway dining room and halls and add my laundry room occasionally. I mix a little bit of flylady in with my organized mum method because I prefer to take Monday and do a bigger vacuum and a mop of the entire house on that day. So I cut out a few minutes on my daily room cleaning. So on Monday… I spend 30 -40 minutes doing a vacuum and mop and 20 minutes in the living room/Den area. Great video!
I love this! I have to admit I was rooting for Clean Mama, so I'm happy with the outcome. 😄 The very best cleaning system is the one you'll stick with. Keep up the good work! 💪🏻
You do not know how hard I laughed with your video you bring a lot of joy to me and 59 years old I’m about to be 60 there’s a kindred spirit here. you crack me up. 😇😂
Best cleaning tip I figured out: store dirty clothes in the washing machine and dirty dishes in the dishwasher. When one of them gets to 3/4 full, run it. Yes, I am a heathen. I mix whites and colors and have not had any issues. I have been doing this for years. Exception to this would be new clothes, wash them separately the first time in case they have dye runoff. (This tip of course does not help someone who has to hand wash.) My second best tip is to get an automatic vacuum cleaner. Mine is basically a beloved member of our family.
This was the prefect antidote to the crazy in our life lately. I agree that some systems seem to be more approachable for traditional wife situations. Also, they seem to leave out the outside chores. Not everyone has a lawn but if you do… you gotta cut that thing. Plus sweep the porch/steps. I feel like so much inside dirt could be prevented by stopping it at the door. Thank you for taking the time to really think this through. I think each system has pearls we can gather and then string together in the best way for our lives. I have cleaned with 1 baby, while full time student, with 2 kids, with teenagers, in town and really rural, as a homeschooler, as a trad wife, no kids, with a job, and now we are trying to master cocleaning. Hardest one yet because it’s the one I’m doing now. Lol. Let’s get together and design a system like a buffet dinner with options for everyone.
This is such a great idea for a series! It's nice to get ideas from these routines, even though I could never follow one to the t 😅 I downloaded the fly lady app and edited at least half of it to fit my priorities. If I had teenagers, I would need to clean the bathroom every day. But I have a toddler and baby starting to crawl, so right now I need clean floors! 😅
I work at a printing company and we used to print and drop ship clean mama’s monthly packets until she went to online only!! It was fun to look at while packing them up!😂
I LOVE this, "Who did it better?" comparison! Super helpful. Would really enjoy this as a series. Take care and thank you for sorting this out so we don't have to.
Thank you for thinking about us working moms. If any one has come up with a cleaning routine specifically for working moms, send it my way. My current system leaves me exhausted and I still have a not so clean house.
Organized Mum is the winner for me! I have tried both systems. I felt like all I did was clean on Clean Mama, so I didn't do it every day. Organized Mum I know I just have to knock out that 30 minutes, and I am done for the day. I consistently come back every day, and my home is much cleaner. Like most things... you have to find the one that works for you.
I'm not surprised it was a tie. I think a combination of the two is good. 1 or 2 whole house tasks each day Monday through Thursday. Then 1 Friday focus room each week. I will try this starting on Monday. Thanks for this video. I was nodding my head in agreement with the points you made about floors and prorities.
Maybe we could get a video about "How to write your own cleaning system"? That would be great! Maybe it could include some tips what you should watch out for and how to pick your favourites from other cleaning systems and include them in yours?
Oh I love this series! I can’t wait for the next. Also: I love the color of your kitchen black splash, very pretty! Baby Skylar looks adorable too. 🥰👏👏
Dishes and laundry are my biggest daily focuses. If those two are done, I'm happy. I'm really surprised both systems left out dishes. If I don't do dishes then I don't want to cook. I dread having to do dishes before I can even start making dinner. Especially when I'm already tired from putting in a full day working. Thank you for the video!
Organised Mum has 'Clean sheet Tuesday' when it's bedroom day. Each day of the week there is a different room to focus on and on Tuesdays it's the bedrooms. This is when she suggests changing bedding. Also with the laundry, as part of the 15 minute level one tasks, she would suggest spending time doing laundry-related tasks, e.g. folding, putting away, etc.
OMGosh this is just the best thing ever! The humor is just pitch perfect. 😂 Can't wait for the rest of the series! I have to throw this out there. As a working mom, I have tried just about every cleaning system known to man... er, woman. Flylady Kat here on RUclips has an adaptation of the Flylady system for working women. As much as I would love to have time to do some of the more, shall we say, aspirational systems, Flylady Kat's "payroll flybaby" system is the simplest, most effective and most doable system I have tried.
Your daughter is so like your husband! She's got such a beautifully, expressive face like you though. Such a sweet baby! Thanks for another entertaining and informative video
This is so interesting because I live in a super dusty area and the other cleaning systems (apart from Organised Mom) don't include dusting or cleaning the floors often enough for my house to feel really clean. Having said that, doing so every day is still a little overwhelming.
I really like Organized Mom’s app - you can tweak it to meet you and your home’s needs ….there’s a small cost but it was worth it for me. This is the first time I’ve stayed with a cleaning system for more than a couple weeks, and I think the app has a lot to do with it.
I prefer mopping everything on one day, too. But we have mostly hard flooring and a large house. When I'm pregnant that is way too hard for me to do in one session. I'm going to love this series!!
Entertaining for sure and waiting for an awkward mom cleaning routine. Don’t forget the dishes, lol. Your baby girl is adorable especially when you made the bed and she smiles. Thanks for the video.
I Just Love your Videos! So entertaining and informative! I am excited for the next episode. We are a Family of six, I have No other choice than doing laundry every day or WE would drown in sorry clothes and bedsheets and towels. 😂 I Like doing a little Bit every day now instead of bih cleaning Marathons taking Up the while Weekend because IT feelsnso much more managable and Not overwhelming and now I'm even looking Forward to the Times when a soecific Task ist about to be tackled.
Omigosh, love this new series!! Going to rewatch it tonight with my husband and son just for fun. Lots of people might have cleaning systems, but only you could make this video! FYI, I would totally contribute to the Kickstarter for "Smash Cleaning" or "Dirt Destroyer" or "Declutter or Die" whether as a phone game or a Nintendo Switch game. Just sayin'. ;)
Honest question... which of these cleaning systems would be best for families with capable children to delegate some tasks to? Working Mom of 6 with 4 living at home still and my kids do chores but I'd like to make it more focused and organized.
I disagree on vacuuming. As a family of 6 active kids and a cat, I need to vacuum daily at least. I think a big difference is house size. In the UK, houses are smaller. Organized Mum is easier for me since I also have a small house. We don't have any extra rooms. Plus Cleanmama seems like it would take much longer a day, especially when starting. No way I could find that time to even start.
I found after I decluttered ( I did Swedish Death Cleaning), my house is so much easier to keep clean every single day. Even if I skip doing dishes until tomorrow!
Thank you for these videos. You have helped me finally find a way to maintain my home and keep it neater. I preferred Organized Mum. I live with 3 cats and a dog. Fur is a REAL issue for me. Setting aside one day to sweep and one to dust just doesn't work to control the fur tumbleweeds that magically appear in my house. 😂 Organized Mum's daily tasks and focus on one room a day works better to control the mess associated with my pets (and me). I did adapt it to fit my needs. I already make my bed as soon as I get up, so I switched that task with daily litter box maintenance and added dishes. I also have a very short hallway so I work on the dining room that day. I do take longer than she recommends to do the tasks, but I use her free handouts to keep track of the tasks I accomplish and make sure I do every task at some point. After a few weeks, I have been able to reduce the amount of time I spend cleaning and feel like my house is neater. I am retired so I have more freedom time wise. I love your videos because you are realistic and honest. I also love your humor. Thanks for looking at these different cleaning systems and helping people find what works best for them. 😊
Here’s how I kinda combined both, if this helps anyone: Daily: Load of laundry (if needed) Dishes Make bed Clean kitchen counters Clean one thing in the bathroom. Monday: Bathrooms Tuesday: Dust Wednesday: Vacuum Thursday: Wash Floors Friday: Organised Mum's Friday Focus Weekend: Dailies
Working mom - team TOMM. I only mop one day a week. For daily vacuuming I run the robot and only use the big vacuum in the room of the day. I like that it’s timed and I often get done before the 30 minutes are up since I keep up with it. Also minimal laundry with one load a day. If you use her app, Tuesday tasks lists change bedding on bedroom day.
So great that you are doing this. Nikki Boyd organizer and fly lady.( I do a little bit of both). But I need to get a system eventually 😂 lol. Great video 👍
Can you please make a video about that times when your baby/toddler infected you with a killer virus from kindergarden. And you think you nearly die of that infection but you still find the energy breastfeed/ do the loundry.
Maybe you should do this series using brackets. That will give you plenty of episodes. Although some cleaning systems will be repeated it'll be another cleaning system to be compared to. Winner moves on. Just a thought. Just so excited about the series that I came today to see if a new video was posted. 😂 Keep up the great work!
I love that you reused boxes to organize your kitchen drawers instead of spending money
Especially the box labeled "beer" that now holds utensils. 😂
I appreciate you thinking of us working moms. Some forget we aren’t all at home every day. Thank you.
I have a feeling that @thatawkwardmom will end up learning from this series a loooot, so she will design her own cleaning system. Can't wait!!
I was thinking the same! We need a thatawkwardmom cleaning system!
That would be so awesome and also there would be dishes included, no compromise.
Total game changer ❤

Thank you. #murphysvoice

If I don’t do the dishes daily, they start to take over the kitchen and start multiplying. And that’s the week company always wants to come over. When you have a dirty bathroom or a pile of dishes. 😂
True story!
The first thing I do when I get up is unload it because if I don’t my husband puts dirty stuff in and I hate that
Go Dana White on the dishes! Immediately after meals +5 minutes in tidying the kitchen.
Thank you for another great video! I'm happy to hear you got a dishwasher! I still like the fly lady I don't know if it's the first one I learned. I just retired and felt I needed a more detailed cleaning schedule for declutering and deep cleaning. Thank you for all the research you provide.
I’m really looking forward to this series! I pull different techniques from different experts to make something that works for me.

I think Flylady is the OG so it’s interesting to compare anyone to her. 😂 Her website is a hot mess tho so she loses points there.

Thanks for the breakdown. Now, I can give the list from Clean Mama to my cleaning lady. Opps, that would be me.
Best cleaning tip I figured out: store dirty clothes in the washing machine and dirty dishes in the dishwasher. When one of them gets to 3/4 full, run it. Yes, I am a heathen. When will we have the Awkward Mom Ultimate Cleaning System?
I do wonder if doing this series will help give her ideas
Eventually, I promise! I'm just not quite ready yet. I'm still a young grasshopper who has much to learn about the world of cleaning routines 🦗
Yes please!
is this summarized in writing somewhere? I'm doing my exercises so I can't take notes unless I watch it again which I might.
Maybe we could get a video about "How to write your own cleaning system"? That would be great! Maybe it could include some tips what you should watch out for and how to pick your favourites from other cleaning systems and include them in yours?
I'm thankful you're doing a comparison. It's super helpful.
Oh I love this series! I can’t wait for the next. Also: I love the color of your kitchen black splash, very pretty! Baby Skylar looks adorable too. 🥰👏👏

This is so interesting because I live in a super dusty area and the other cleaning systems (apart from Organised Mom) don't include dusting or cleaning the floors often enough for my house to feel really clean. Having said that, doing so every day is still a little overwhelming.
Thank you for acknowledging the dishes!
I really like Organized Mom’s app - you can tweak it to meet you and your home’s needs ….there’s a small cost but it was worth it for me. This is the first time I’ve stayed with a cleaning system for more than a couple weeks, and I think the app has a lot to do with it.
Same! I also love Gemma’s videos that give more insight into her methods.
Awesome idea for a video series! I am here for it!
Love this new video idea. This is a great analysis for us. Thanks! ❤️
Thank you for being so fun 😊😊😊
Omigosh, love this new series!! Going to rewatch it tonight with my husband and son just for fun. Lots of people might have cleaning systems, but only you could make this video! FYI, I would totally contribute to the Kickstarter for "Smash Cleaning" or "Dirt Destroyer" or "Declutter or Die" whether as a phone game or a Nintendo Switch game. Just sayin'. ;)
Great video. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.😃
Love love love this new segment!!! 💗
Honest question... which of these cleaning systems would be best for families with capable children to delegate some tasks to? Working Mom of 6 with 4 living at home still and my kids do chores but I'd like to make it more focused and organized.
Thank you, lady!
❤
I feel like a combination of their routines would be awesome.
Great video. I was highly entertained.
That was fun ! Plus I learned stuff, which is why I love your channel, fun and information, what’s not to like ?! 😊
Very entertaining! Thank you!
Totally lost track of home cleaning and realized it's srring time😂. Came searching for you. Thanks my dear friend. I'll start again😂
Love this series!!! Can’t wait to see the rest!! 💕
Great video thank you❤
Great and entertaining video! Skyla is so precious. ❤
Great video!! I love these new series!!
I really enjoyed this video.
Flylady for the win!! lol, happy to see that these don't beat it. THanks for sharing!
Great idea for a video series.
Here’s how I kinda combined both, if this helps anyone:
Daily:
Load of laundry (if needed)
Dishes
Make bed
Clean kitchen counters
Clean one thing in the bathroom.
Monday:
Bathrooms
Tuesday:
Dust
Wednesday:
Vacuum
Thursday:
Wash Floors
Friday:
Organised Mum's Friday Focus
Weekend:
Dailies
Super cute! Liked this!
Thanks for the helpful video!
Mopping one day in a week, you must be not in tropical climate. In indonesia , I mop 2 times daily
So we now need a combined of the best of two routine from you ❤
This is great- thanks for the video!
Who did it the best? That Awkward Mama!😊
i would love to see you try a 50s cleaning routine 🤭 also have you heard of the motivated moms app?
Ooh this sounds like a fun idea!!
Love your bee scarf!
This was fun!
Can you do a mini video where you show you doing the baseboards with your mop?
I forgot everything you said when the chunky smootchie cheeks appeared lol
Thank you for this video, it actually helps a LOT. 🙂
You're getting so close to 100k❤❤❤
Love your vlogs !! ❤️
I still think you should look into getting a portable/countertop dishwasher that attaches to your sink. It was a game changer for us!!!!
I loved this ❤️
Love this!!
So great that you are doing this. Nikki Boyd organizer and fly lady.( I do a little bit of both). But I need to get a system eventually 😂 lol. Great video 👍
Can't wait for "That Awkward Mom Cleaning Routine for Working Moms"!!!!!!
I liked this comparison. Moar! Moar! Roar!
This is so fun!
Can you please make a video about that times when your baby/toddler infected you with a killer virus from kindergarden. And you think you nearly die of that infection but you still find the energy breastfeed/ do the loundry.
Can review organization apps??
Maybe you should do this series using brackets. That will give you plenty of episodes. Although some cleaning systems will be repeated it'll be another cleaning system to be compared to. Winner moves on. Just a thought. Just so excited about the series that I came today to see if a new video was posted. 😂 Keep up the great work!
