What helps with the dji drones is before you fly wiggle your sticks around in a full circle back and forth. Be sure the controller is turned on. The drone wont trail off on its own course. My mavic 2 went for a dip at a creek near Red Cone couple years back. Still flew even after a drink.

Sorry about the drone. It happens. Nice locations. Don't worry, It doesn't matter what you call it, as long as you're getting out there and having fun. And staying safe. Sometimes my wife n I use a BnB or hotel before or after heading out on the trails. I try to never go deep into backcountry in a single rig. All good. I love Diode Dynamics.

I tend not to camp campgrounds but I have. I like to let my dog off leash permanently but I still call what I do overlanding.

There were no bugs because they were mourning the loss of your drone.
