Has anyone used this just as a tent?

I'm in the process of building my own hitch swing arm. I run a WJ and I need extra storage but also want rear gate access. This is where it makes a good bit of sense. I can intall a cargo platform on the swing arm and move it out of the way instead of unhooking it completely from the hitch. I keep my stock spare in the stock location, its a PITA to get it out because all the gear in the back comes out too, but I'm not racing anyone and don't need quick access to my spare.

What is the average time that the fire pit will run on that 5lbs tank? I just bought mine and haven’t used it yet and was curious about the efficiency of using the 5lbs tank Thanks for the content and review!

My question is, if you have a full-size bed rack and put in a short bed Molly, panel? Will it still work? Will be nice to have a gap so I can stick in my hand and grab things from the back of the bed instead of having a full panel covering the whole side.

Ive run these tires for 13 years and have them on multiple vehicles.ive gotten through stuff with these on the wear bars that was just down right surprising.the montana fwp wardens use these on all their trucks so that should speak to the tires performance.

I drive like an old man, but I didn’t swap out my duratracs until 6 years, 62,000 miles on my Silverado and they still had a little life yet. It took me until the last quarter of their life to figure it out, but at 45-50 psi it keeps the edges from cupping as bad. I’m at 8k on the fresh set, recently rotated, and I don’t see any sign of cupping yet.

Another reason for mounting a spare on the bumper is if you get an extended long range fuel tank installed in the factory spare location.

Fell into this trap with a “overland” tacoma in my 20’s. Looking back, i could have invested the 100k spent and had 500k by now. Could have done all the same trails in a 10k 100 series land cruiser with only a tire mod.

I agree with your assessment. I love my duratracs in the first 35k. Then they got loud and lost traction. Ironically, they look to have a lot of tread life left but I’ll replace them by fall.

Kind of interesting that two of the five checkpoints for must haves for the 270 have to do with coverage in the back yet you're going with a 180. Curious to see how you mount that.. I have the Alu-Cab and made my own gutter with velcro attachment. Realistically I only need that when it's raining. We had our first one on our small off-road camper and liked it so much that we got one for our truck topper we're building out.

We have this new scale that weighs how much of a stereotype you are. Please step on, sir. See with tools, what matters is what you can do with them. Not how pretty they are. Trucks are tools. Stop treating yours like a skirt.

Strap it down tighter, throw a little gorilla tape on it and go camping 🤷‍♂️ OVS is probably the best value on the market aside from Ironman 4x4. There all gonna have their own little quirks. Even if you pay stupid money for “high end” brands.

Everything is rusting. I had plenty of different brand, cheap and expensive, and they all rust almost at same rate. Really depend where you live.
