Being a RUclipsr has taught me a lot and I hope to continue sharing this information with you all.

Great tips here. Thanks for the transparency. I'd like more content creator type videos like you suggested for this small level overland creator space. While I love the big channels, it can be intimidating when their film kit costs more than my camping gear, minus the truck lol.

I weighed starting a channel for almost 3 years before I finally did… wish I would’ve actually started the first time it sounded like a good idea

    New sub here!
The topics you've pointed out at the end of your video would make a great ''Part 2''!
    Keep up the good work!

Awesome video and thanks for the insights from the “other side.”
Point #2 is a great point.
Starting is where I’m at. I feel like I want to do it, but is it what I “want” to do?
I love what I do and I want to share it, but trying to figure out the details and the “why’s”
I’m excited to see more of your process in filming.
Planning and prepping. The idea behind your approach.
Also, you got a sub, brother 👍🏼

Great channel, great advice. I would like to see more information on getting sponsors. Also I would like to see a walk around of the truck with the current upgrades/mods.

I might do a screen recording of my editing process, but I gotta cleanup my files on my desktop first 😅

Wow, you and I should sit down and share a couple beers. You had the courage to say out loud in this video what I have kept to myself when it comes to the negative part of this content creation world. Your tips are wise and pointed. Well put. I would like to see more content personally, not just from you, but all overlanders, on how they chose their action shots while traveling. How many times do you double back on a trail, just to get a shot you did not know was coming type thing? My channel has been surprisingly successful for what it was meant to be, but making adventure videos has been my passion for decades. Never was able to gain a following though as far as my overlanding trips, (different channel), and I am not sure if it is based on content, camera angles, music choice or my personality? LMAO.... either way, I just found your video tonight, so I will subscribe to keep an eye on your progress. Congrats on the 3k sub mark, believe me, you will be jumping for joy when you hit 10k before the year is out!

Hey thanks I really appreciate that 🙏 I'll definitely check out your channel too. This whole content creation thing is an adventure in itself. I plan on making some videos about the points you mentioned too. Thanks for watching!

I started posting overland type videos back in November. I underestimated how challenging it could be. I constantly compare myself to related channels that started around same time and I feel like my channel isn't performing as well as I envisioned

Don't film your adventures, just enjoy them. Memories are better than sponsors.

    • @varsityoverland
      @varsityoverland  5 месяцев назад

I totally get that. I think the reason why I enjoyed my first cross country experience so much is because I wasn't filming it. But i also enjoy filming too, so I figured why not combine the two lol
