I’ve heard it’s meant to look like he’s an pharaoh. As sort of a meta-parallel on how Egyptian mythology is older then Greek mythology the same way the Titans are older then the Gods.
Love how Chrono's voices has 'two sides overlapping' for lack of a better term. You have the formal humanoid voice on top and a little monstrous otherworldly voice underneath. I adore how it's executed, it makes it feel as if he's so otherworldly even speaking like a person is something he has to emulate and I love the added detail of having the creepy voice become more prominent when he's annoyed or says something disturbing. I just love what this interpretation all around!

...Except that after Melinoe beats Chronos for the first time, he outright says that pissing him off is a bad idea when he has her whole family at his mercy, and he's willing to hurt his prisoners just to spite her. Zagreus is being held captive by his insane baby-eating grandfather who has a very personal grudge against his father and sister; he is NOT safe. He is very actively in danger at all times.
“In this at least I shall not fail you.” That makes me wonder if Hecate had something to do with Chronos coming back. Even if it may have been an accident.
Nem says she was Nyx's handmaiden and she failed to prevent what happened to the House of Hades. At the very least, it seems Hekate may have missed a spot check there, or believes she did.
I enjoy immensely that Zagreus is in the "Get the f*** over here you bastard" position when the others clearly didn't have time to move before they were frozen in time. Makes me wonder if he managed to resist just that extra bit longer, and what Chronos said to him during their confrontation.

After all his abhorrent behavior, he fell afoul of Zeus himself who had him chained to a perpetually burning and spinning wheel for all eternity, originally it rotated across the heavens but was later moved to the underworld where Hades has apparently put him up as giant light fixture.
I like that the game didn't shit on Zagreus strength and the only reason Melinoe can fight Chronos while he couldn't is that she's resistant to his time magic, is not like she's stronger or has plot armor, is just that she was trained to even have a chance against him while the others were caught by surprise without the means to resist the time imprisonment
Yeah, I'm glad Supergiant still respects Zagreus. Both through his portrayal and how the other gods talk about him. They understand that people *really* like Zagreus. Any other dev these days probably would have been like "Forget Zagreus! He's old news! Here's his cooler, way more powerful younger sister!" Instead, they pay respect to him as a beloved former protagonist, and explain why he couldn't stand up to Chronos.
Indeed, Chronos even mentions that the reason why Thanatos was imprisoned was because, at the moment, he didn't have his scythe. No idea if this was planned by Chronos, or just a happy accident. Things would have turned out different if Than was at the crossroads, due to how OP he seems.

Even though Nyx being the direct daughter of Chaos would have the upperhand in most scenarios, Kronos has the upperhand specifically in time. In this game we use specific spells to resist time in whatever fashion presented in order to aid us. Even then you will notice any boons related to time used against Kronos will get scoffed at or just won't work.

Hecate's honestly quite tough if you don't act patient when fighting her. The top thing she teaches you is to keep your distance and emphasizes looking for openings to attack. A lot of enemies have AOE attacks so it's good boss design to teach that early on.
Having something of a hard time telling with the effect of the stasis thing, but it's Zagreus, Meg, Dusa, Thanatos, Achilles, and Persephone in them right?
Oh thank God! Then that means Tisiphone must surely be safe somewhere else since she and Alecto wouldn't have been present at The House around this time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i believe (most plausible theory) that she took hypnos' place to protect him - in turn, hypnos must've been too hurt about what happened with his mother that he slept _by force_ so he wouldn't think about it. that, or hypnos still trying to fight in his own dream realm ? maybe morpheus might come in this game? idk
older does not necessarily mean most powerful primordial are not all necessarily more powerful just more fundamental to the universe for example typhon and Zeus, Uranus and typhon are generally considered the strongest in Greek myth in terms of Greek myth but even Zeus wouldn't challenge Nyx in her own domain darkness, as he did not go after Hypnos after he went to his mothers domain a dark cave primordial are not powerful being that control elements, they are embodiments of the elements. but that doesn't make them unbeatable as Nyx would likewise not challenge Zeus if she were away from her domain. Similarly Gaia a primordial of the earth Is not someone who is powerful enough to challenge uranus, Chronos, or Zeus with each time she wanted to face them she gave birth to powerful children to fight them in her stead. tldr primordials and age aren't power levels in Greek mythology there are some gods titans and monsters who are stronger than primordial primordials are just gods who embody important aspects. Titans and Olympians are more like 2 generations of different gods like boomers and millennials.

Here I thought the first game consisted of defeating hades even though we were his son, personally my expectations for this one was that we were gonna defeat chronos even though we are his grand daughter. But no apparently defeating older gods is impossible

the titans blood zag gets are bounties posted by Hades, not blood he bottles from the furies.

You can actually hear the caring tone in Hades' voice when he asks Chronos what did he do to his family. Won me over completely. 🥰🥰 Love it.
At least Zagreus is safe, but...the fact that he couldnt defeat Chronos....means that Chronos is a threat of a WHOLE OTHER level.

Chronos/Cronus slew Nyx's brother Ouranos, and that's without being combined with the primordial Chronos as he is in this game.
