I don't know if polite is the word, but his dialogue is very idk witty? Smooth? He has this retired mobster kinda tone, like he isn't personally offended but still has to do what he's gotta do. I think his character is super interesting

Odysseus fooled the cyclops to tell the others that nobody hurt him by saying that his name was “nobody”. So proud of himself he was that he taunted the cyclops with his actual name allowing the cyclops to pray to his father Poseidon for revenge. This but Odysseus in the butt.
(Spoiler Alert) Odysseus stabbed his Eye out with a stake that was lit on fire . In Hades 2 Polyphemus comes from Odyssey a ancient Greek poem that Homer wrote.
I read in a translation of Odyssey that Polyphemus was likely a caricature of Sicilians, as he comes from a far off land where they raise livestock instead of farm crops (and a pretty racist one at that given the brutishness 💀) And assuming the devs knew that, that makes the Italian mobster additude a really cool touch

It was the other cyclopes, not Poseidon. He told Poseidon after Odysseus told him his real name.
