Ah man I haven't used a lipless in years, I gotta fix that this spring!
Smaller lakes are just thawing out here in New Hampshire this past week, won't be long before my first trip 👍
I love a good lipless bite! Hopefully you get out soon as well :-)
Looked like a fun day boys! Congrats on the first of the year😄 to many more!
Good first day of largemouth fishing 🎣 That is exactly the type of water I'm fishing most often in my area.
Thanks Victor! This is actually what most of the lakes around here are like too
Good start to the year buddy! Your buddy has a sick set up on his boat too.
His setup is baddddd to the bone. It’s an awesome boat
Good vid. Nice catch. Been out chasing walleye on Saginaw river myself.
I’ve heard the river is getting really good and should just keep getting better
Great video Ben!!
Thanks man! I appreciate it
Congratulations Ben! That’s one more bass than I have caught this year. It must have been super fun just getting out fishing from a boat again.
👍🏻😊
Thanks so much Bob, it felt so good to get back on the water. I hope you’re doing well!
“Might as well not get our hands wet”. Truer words have never been spoken for this time of year lol
Congrats on your first of the year and a great one at that! Hit mine on the 2nd (definitely some bigs hitting in that cold front that came thru) and followed up with doubling up in the 3rd. Great weekend to get on them 💯!
All mine were from the bank, but agree on that lethargic bite. Could barely feel the resistance on the jerkbait. Didn’t have any luck with moving baits as docile as they were.
The funniest part was on the release, they REFUSED to leave the bank and kept pushing back towards the warmer water in the shallow.
They were chunky though, so they were definitely feeding. It’s only gonna get better from here.
Warm hands and tight lines man!👊💥🎣
Lol I hate getting my hands wet when the air is cold. It’s the worst fishing feeling in the world.
That’s awesome! I heard the bite during the cold front was absolutely insane, and expected with the warm up for those fish to keep popping off, but I actually think it slowed the bite down a bit. I’m already chomping at the bit to get out again soon - hopefully you do too!
Fun day!
Yeah man, we have to do it again soon
Nice job great video
Thanks so much Jonah
Great video, glad to see you on the water. I mostly fished out of kayaks last year but did purchase a used boat. What bait would you recommend to throw on a bait caster for a beginner? It’s a 7ft med/heavy shimano caius I just never used them in kayak because didn’t want to have problems on water.
That is the most universal and versatile rod. It will everything you tie on. If it has a fast action to extra fast action tip then it would be better for bottom contact lures like a jig, Texas rig, swim jig, spinnerbait. It the rod has a moderate to moderate fast tip then it would be good for a chatterbait, mid diving crankbait. Hope that helps man.
Congrats on the boat!!! To start with a baitcaster I’d recommend something like a 3/8 or 1/2oz spinnerbait, lipless Crankbait, or chatterbait. Something easy to cast and has some weight to it. If you’re confident fishing a jig, I’d also recommend that, but I know some people don’t have as much confidence in jig fishing
👀👀👍👍👍🔥🔥
What state are you fishing?
I’m in Michigan
Disclaimer: I don't care if people wanna use FFS. If it's available, so be it. Do I think it could be bad for the future of fishing (not just bass)? Sure. Anyhoo, in your opinion, on this day do you think you guys catch as many fish as you did without FFS?
