I just watched a 16 min video about where water fountains are in California. I live in Wales.
But whales do occasionally swim to California, right?
😂 Fortunately finding water in Wales is never that much of a challenge
@@1989srjones yes, just open your mouth and point to the sky 🤣
Me too... fanboys 😂😂 🏴
Hahah we can only wish brother... the Swansea hills are too bad tho ;)
Lesson of this video: If you use a water spigot and see some trash lying around, pick it up and deposit it properly.
Needs more upvotes 👆🏼
this right here.
That stunt road fountain has come to the rescue for many cyclists, including myself.
New camera? Picture quality looks great
In a few years you'll realize sometimes a trickle is all you get.
Calamigos Ranch has water from irrigation faucet. They also have an outdoor bar that sells sodas and more. Not sure if bar is open during Covid though so call ahead.
Phil, that camera is amazing quality brother
Also, Griffith park at the observatory has a fountain, 11801 Mulholland Dr (hidden in the lookout) and 21051 saddle peak rd.
Not in Santa Monica mountains in Malibu
Finally to 100k subs!
Nice to see the spots I visited in June 2019. I used the water spigot on Stunt and had a nice coffee at the place in Cornell 👍🏻👍🏻
Phil I recommend the "Take A Look" mirror for your glasses. It's like an eye in the back of your head.
Base of Fernwood at fire station has water. Should be able to get enough water to get to civilization. Every city park has water, so you can also map out park locations.
Cue tip Topanga! Congrats 100,000 subs!
Thanks for the tips. I knew a few of those but not all of them. I am surprised that you only got passed by the Corvette club I seem to get the Porsche club too. At least you can hear them coming up from the bottom of the canyon and get over. I believe Las Flores is Spanish for Steep hill.
My favorite, Sherwood Lake, fire station 33, near Potrero Rd.
100k plaque incoming!!! 😃
Boomer Corvette club was courteous, with their white New Balances.
My first canyon ride I discovered Station 67. I was totally cracked and found water and a pristine Luna Bar. Crushed both and then finished the ride
Yesssss the vid I needed
your best video so far
congrats on 100k
it would be great if Strava, or wahoo, or Garmin integrated these water spots in to their maps like a.segment. So you would know when you could grab water.
OpenStreetMap has water fountains (if someone has added it). RWGPS Premium lets you make cues on your routes.
Love the Jaybirds
Hey, I’m visiting in Calabasas now. Thanks for some route tips.
Been using jaybird since X2's. No one believes me when I say they are literally the best wireless choice. The vista's are incredible. I recommend searching for and using the audiophile 4k sound profile.
Seeing all those Corvettes reminded me of Phil’s description of Boulder, Colorado and I paraphrase..., “...inexplicably wealthy 20something year olds driving Lamborghinis.” Made me chuckle.
There are motor sports clubs of all types going through the hills. I have seen porsche, lamborghini, ferrari, mini, bmw, honda racing mods, restored classics, etc.
Dude I'm a mountain biker and I love your vids . Now thats a complement 🤣
haha GET OUT!
@@worstretirementever I know ill be shaving my legs and drinking vino next . hahaha love the channel dude , keep it up .
"They got water...being a restaurant and what not..."
Nice drink&drive Video. Exactly the stuff which should be available for Taxc smart training using the good conditions in Cali when it's super cold in the EU Off-Season. No good idea?
Nice editing.
That was so cool.
Nice work to the Corvette drivers for passing safely.
Cool video! Still winter here in Switzerland, but we're getting there ;) What earbuds do you use these days?
stunt water saved me HUGE one day, I didn't know it was there I was parched. I might have not made it back to the car at Pepperdine U. I've wanted to leave some Cash at the Stunt place, if they had a "tip jar"
He's a good speller. Totally aced spigot.
Dunno why I watched this...I live in Vancouver, BC. Water buckets from the sky 24/7/365.
Nice to see Ben back. I’d been wondering about his whereabouts
Now we need an update on Muhney.
@@billinhouston3291 did you see? 🙂
@@BobShurunkle YEP!!
Phil - you're such a decent awesome guy. Currently reading "Draft Animals". Man, I'd love to ride together some time. Except you'll drop me like a hot potato... haha.
Cemeteries/graveyards in UK and France etc often have a tap/faucet or even a spigot available. 💦
Tarah Pro is where it's at! Great set of buuuuds
I love those buds! Battery life is pretty ridiculous and sound quality is really great.
I’ve been wearing the Vista’s for running and while working. It’s nice to just put one in to hear out the other. Battery life with the case is GREAT!
Are the ones you "missed" the super secret water spots? You keep those in your back pocket for when the zombies come?
You are the ruler of the rodeo, Phil, thanks for showing us the roads of the Southland. And it'd be cool if you put together a guide of your favorite routes, with maybe a cookie and completion certificate for riders who get around to catching some rays and riding your roads.
There is a spigot at the junction of Fernwood and Tuna Canyon, right side as you're climbing Fernwood.
So, when are you taking back Mt Wilson?
Hi phil
California looks such a great place to ride a bike and great weather too, much better than the UK i think. I noticed the black/blue handlebar tape on your bike. Would like to ask if you know, who makes it?
Thanks.
Silca!
@@worstretirementever Thanks, really appreciated.
You have a spotify playlist to share? Would love to drown out my anxieties too.
Congrats on 100k too man 👍
Ben has a beautiful Bottechia!
Anything further North - Deer Creek heading to Sandstone? Also is spigot water typically good? New to CA and not sure what flies here as potable.
Not that I know of on Deer Creek or Cotharin, but during normal times Neptune's Net (restaurant at PCH & Yerba Buena) has coolers with water inside; currently, under Covid times, the only option there is to purchase bottled water. I believe there is also water at the Leo Carrillo campground (PCH at Mulholland Hwy).
Hey Phil what camera do you use please?
Hoss Beach! That was more HP Cars than we have in All New Mexico lol
He hit 100k subs!
Hey Phil - Enjoying the videos. What camera are you currently using for your Vlogs? Great sound quality for what looks like such a compact camera!
Love from an Irish man in London
never tried an earbud, never gonna. I have to hear everything I can on the road and i'm certain it has saved my life at least once. When I was a full time rider, I could tell how many inches a car would pass off my left
just bought a tera pro because of phil, sorry needed the full 14h batt life or i would of got the vistas. amazon $190 cad after tax. I uber eats on a non electric bike all day everyday and I make enough. Plus now I can pull 600 watts for a minute like it's nothin gang gang
Best trails in the valley or just around that area
Jaybird Vista awesome happy customer tried Jabra didn't work well.
what kind of sunglasses are u wearing. very cool
Goodr. Just about everything he uses is in the description for future ref. 🙂
Vette run on Middle Age Crisis Topanga
you should do Cheyenne Canyon in Colorado Springs in Colorado.
and the best way to get the Everesting record would be to get a good circular course with rolling hills and no stops.
Garden of the Gods may be a good spot
Look up the rules of Everesting.
I'm using the Vistas to listen to this video. Great ear buds, the best I've ever used for sure.
Hey Phil, I know this is a long shot, but you're sponsored by Speedplay so I figure it's worth a shot, since I haven't been able to get a direct answer from them. Are they planning to keep making their Syzr pedals? Seems like since they got taken over by Wahoo stocks of that pedal have dried up. The rumor mill says they're discontinuing that pedal, but I sure hope not. The Syzr is my favorite pedal but I'm down to my last pair. Thanks.
Man I'm running 60/62 in my 28mm tubeless GP5000s, I gotta up my pressures for sure. Same for my 28mm non-tubeless with latex tubes.
Depends a bit what your weight is. I’m 210lbs and run 75/80psi in 28c. For reference phill only weighs like 150lbs
150 for me but yeah psi is relative.
I weigh 145 and I run 80/75 tubeless and 90/85 with tubes.
Didn’t notice any roads going up Everest 🤔.
Why not set a mark for Authentic Everesting: propose same rules as current, but track cannot be designated for use by four wheeled vehicles or have materials on it other than those from the immediate area (within 50m - say - so no tarmac or imported gravel).
What do you think? No traffic issues 😂
fun fact, if you add up the value of all those cars it will come out to about 1/10 the cost of a new TT bike!
👍😎🍀
Corvette sponsorhip?
Wait, so this means you haven't tried the deep dish cookie at the Old Place... What are you doing Phil? Step up your cookie game.
100k subs - nice
All the cars passing you are Corvettes????
Car clubs drive all over the canyons, especially on the weekends. So you see “parades” (large groups) of the same cars (Corvettes, Ferrari’s, Porsches, McLarens, etc.) driving together.
Is there not any COVID essential journeys ruling in California?
85 tubeless at 150lbs mr gaimon? im running 68 rear and 63 front im 126lbs
I weigh 145 and I run 80/75 tubeless
@@mattkavanaugh5623 im back at 95 PSI way betrer dont see any pros or grand tour riders running 75 psi....would you lower your car tire pressures also??? thaks for your response also sir...95 psi my PR's 2 min faster and way better at grip and rolling resistance i dont care about comfort its a race bike if i wanted comfort go by a commuter than or cruiser
Why don’t you have a go pro on your handle bars
Hey, Phil. Forget the spigots, you've got a whole ocean to drink from. And if you jump in, you can have a discrete pee too. Just don't do both at the same time😋
Nice chilled vid btw👍
Salt might be a problem...if you're being sarcastic, I didn't pick up on it :P
living in europe, I‘d love to have public watering holes. my watering holes are gasstations
Switzerland has you covered
Who thumbs down a video for cyclists on where to find water while cycling?? 🤦🏽♂️
