    Someone gave me this kit just this morning. Having played since 68 at 16 I had a Beatles kit but quickly uped to a cream kit. Neighbors hated me. I most liked early British bands, Genisus, Crimson, Pink, and at 72 years old I have seen Yes 18 times. You asked so 😢had to sell my Ludwigs after 50 years. Damn near killed. However I will run these as best I can. I am excited to start again after another round of cancer. Thanks for the info God bless you.

    I got this kit a few years back to learn the arrangements of our originals @ home, and to improve, doing exercises. A bit later, I was thinking of getting a bigger kick tower, but instead I bought a 2nd identical Nitro Mesh kick tower & pedal (got cheap), then hooked it up via a "mono" 2-way splitter (1/4 inch), to have actual double bass. This way, both kick towers have the exact same settings, as well, as they share an input. Need the double bass with playing old school prog metal.

    Really enjoyed this review, thank you. Yes like everyone else who owns this kit I only really like a limited number of the preset kits and sounds, but that limited number still make for some remarkably great sounding customized kits. Add a good stereo reverb unit and the Alesis Nitro Mesh sounds and records great! And both the bass drum pad and pedal and hi hat pedal are so much beefier than I was expecting. Honestly there's nothing that even comes close for $299. I absolutely love my Nitro Mesh kit. Its overall construction, responsiveness and playability straight out of the box far exceeds it's price, and I love how little space it takes up in my modest home recording studio's already limited space.

    Glad I found your video. I just bought this kit yesterday and am starting to play for the first time. Do you have any advice for someone like me, who finds the technique of keeping right and left separation very difficult. Basically, both my right and left hands plus feet just want to play the same way all the time. I am sure you get this question all the time but I am really keen to at least understand the basics of keeping the feet and hands doing different things. I have subbed now and will follow you for more advice from now on. Cheers from Dave

    Another option for double bass is to add a second kick pedal unit and plug it in to one of the extra jack ports and program it as a custom kit.

    I bought a kick pad from Thomann that fits double pedals :)
    Also, would running this kit through a software (superior drummer for example) improve the dynamics?
    I love this kit but the rack is so small. Luckily, furniture risers fixed the height issue but it still seems quite narrow width-wise.

    A few years ago I'd played a Roland higher end kit at Guitar Center. I"m a guitarist, first and foremost, but that Roland kit sounded absolutely phenomenal. Of course
    they ran it through a very good drum PA. But that Roland kit had to be at least $1200 or so. The built in kits in the brain seemed fine to me, but again, I'm an amateur
    drummer and know guitars a lot better! But that was also not a beginner kit.

    been looking at the possibility of buying a second nitro mesh (secondhand) and use the 2 modules to create a bigger looking Kit double kick ect...
    Would the midi out to midi in work to combine or would it be best to use standard 6.3 jacks from each of the Left/mono to a mixer and connect that way?

    • @RhythmRoomMusicSchool
      @RhythmRoomMusicSchool  Год назад

      The Nitro Mesh has expansion slots on the back of the module for you to plug in a second bass drum and another drum pad/cymbal pad, or plug in an official kit expansion kit from Alesis. Seems like overkill but in theory what you plan on doing should work, while I've not tried it myself my suggestion would be to use the jack leads into a mixer/audio interface for sure. Good luck!

    It's too bad there's no option for a good size, more durable bass drum tower/pad that will take almost any weight or amount kick drum pedals. It would be well worth
    investing in one if available, since it's just frustrating to have a moving, sluggish etc. kick drum pad or tower. A standard acoustic kit you usually don't have such issues,
    if the kit and pedals are any good.

      Hi, thanks for the comment, we use the Kinsman BB10 guitar practice amp when we sell these kits and send them out for hire. That would be a good place to start. Yes, you’ll need either a set of headphones or an amp and instrument cable to be able to hear the drum kit. Good luck!

    • @RhythmRoomMusicSchool
      @RhythmRoomMusicSchool  Год назад

      Hi, thanks for the comment, as per guidance from Alesis themselves, you shouldn't use the felt side of the beater on their bass drum pads, there's a mesh head under the rubber that can be damaged by the friction created from the felt side. This is true for any mesh head bass drum pad.

    • @paulbfields8284
      @paulbfields8284 Год назад

    • @RhythmRoomMusicSchool
      @RhythmRoomMusicSchool  Год назад +1

      Hi, thanks for the comment, as per the guidance directly from Alesis the plastic side of the beater should be facing the bass drum pad on all of their mesh drum kits, the felt can actually damage the pads more than the plastic. It seems counterintuitive so that's why I contacted the company directly to find out for sure.
