Great for kids my 5 yr old rock this. She was drum training at schools of rock school. Sure enough I had to upgrade to an Alesis Nitro Pro for dad to have a piece of the action.

I'm a beginner and I'm in doubt between this Alesis Nitro MAX and the Roland TD-02K and what do you recommend?

Can’t coke cymbals on the turbo kit… that’s not great. Nitro kit seems the better kit imho.

Yessir, that’s what we do!!! Drop/break a stick, replace it at the most convenient moment in fastest possible way.

I saw the snare problem mentioned in Amazon reviews and other videos. It’s a simple fix though, just buy a dedicated snare stand for $30.

Have you loosened the kick drum pad spurs all the way so that the velcro sticks strong to the floor mat ?? Or do you tighten those ? Does the velcro come up when you tighten the Spurs again ??

Brushes are something I hate using but forced into using it all the time for gigs lol. I did rock and country for like 10 years and smooth jazz was the only other genre to go to around here that sells gigs, hoping to get people excited for a reggae Ska rock band though, I doubt it will work lol Take care lads

Haha, never noticed the red band on the sides of the pads :D. Got my new MAX kit for 2 months now, and I'm completely satisfied with it. The only issue I have is that I found it very difficult to setup the USB connection with my PC, and BFD player. I am now using a sinple iRig adaptor with a mobile jack plug, and if I want to record drums only, then I play the music on earbuds and have the drumkit headphones over it. This is because if you use the audio output, then you will record the full music with the backing track coming from the bluetooth. That is though perfect quality as far as I am sensitive to my recordings. To setup the BFD you can't just use the Alesis settings you've spent hours setting up pad sounds, you have to start from scratch and find the correct sounds in the PC BFD player, which is unnecessary pain, and I didn't have the patience to do it. :) The frame here is slightly more stable than the Nitro, which was horrible, but the joints here are still plastic, which means it'll never be better. Might worth it to buy a used kit with a metal frame, and sell the pads. :)The metronome is acting very weirdly when it comes to 8s and 16s, I am not sure this is intended, but one can find a way to set it up and it's very useful, when it shows if you are DRAGGING OR RUSHING???? :D And I didn't mention the best, the 90 days DRUMEO ACCESS! Which is very expensive otherwise.

After almost 1 year I've gone for the Nitro Max, so thanks again @RhythmRoomMusicSchool for the reviews! Quite happy with the choice, there are several settings that allow the creation of kits with decent customized sounds (I mean the standard sound library with tweaked pitch, reverb, etc., and you can adjust quite an extensive number of settings for sound and sensitivity). I also got the expansion kit, that adds a tom and a cymbal, for a more versatile setup. I am only a bit concerned about the snare "cantilever" support, it looks like the plastic bracket might suffer for the repeated strokes and fail over time. I think I'll build some sort of DIY support for it.

So he’s playing with brushes… and he puts them down to get different brushes that as far as I can tell are exactly the same. What am I missing? He says it broke but I’ve watched a bunch of times and see no reason to ditch the first set of brushes 🤷🏼‍♂️ what broke?

As a roadie who sets up your drum sets knowing that you did nothing I need to come in and do the soundtrack you better have extra crap on you I did not do that hard work for you to f everything up. God I hate musicians are so pretentious.

Had mine for a month and love it, fun kit to play on. The bt aux in is awesome. Very happy with my kit, the build and sound quality suit my needs just fine.

I've noticed that this kind of music (and all roots music really) is making a serious comeback all over the world. I'm loving it.
