Bracket racing it doesn't really matter how fast you go. Good reaction times and consistent runs are what brings home the bacon, trophies, and money. Good show with a big, heavy car.

Did you ever notice that most people have very shitty cinematography skills? I have the same problem when I race my car. I give the camera to a friend and give them some coaching like don't start recording until my rear tires are in the water box, keep the car in the picture, zoom in on the clocks at the end of the run and stop recording while the camera is still pointed at the clocks. Then I see the videos and they almost always fail at all of that. Very frustrating. Nice car BTW , its bad ass, love it.

I tried to save her, but there is nothing that can be done once the paperwork is turned in. Anyway, your car is evidence that wagons can be cool too.... and they have TONS of room.
not bad. i used to race a '71 catalina sleeper. i used the 3-28's rule. 28 psi rear tires, .028 drilled carb jets, 28 degrees full advance. dual exhaust w/ glass, and squoze out consistent 13's in the 1/4. was a fun car.

I'm a Ford Crown Vic guy myself which means I'm not fond of the B-body but I gotta admit that is pretty cool. Although I'm surprised you had to put as big of an engine in there to get the horses....I would have just maybe cammed an LS9 and worked from there....although it's testament to "there's no replacement for displacement." Nice vid.

A 454 in THAT station? Holy SHIT!!! I have an '89 Chevy Caprice regular sedan with a 305 under the hood, and THAT'S all I need in my car. I bet your station wagon guzzles a LOT of gas IN and OUT of the race track.
i got a 82 Bonneville, that is basically a 79 Malibu wagon with a Pontiac front end. i'm changing it to a Bu front end, it runs 8 flat in the 8th N/A. all roller Vortec 355 running through the stock 7.5 with 4:10's i kill Stangs, not mine own of course : )
@testy462 x2 on these wagons the gvwr is 6,005 lb, 1650lb is the load limit which leaves the curb weight at approx. 4355, and hoping you did some weight reduction you should beable to get it down around 4000 easy. So unless you are hauling led blocks down the track with you theres no way it weights 4700. Sweet ride none the less :D ive always wanted a wagon that wasnt a blazer lol (blazers are titled as STA WAGON here in michigan)

I have a simular set up 62 Impala 4dr BB chevy 700 hp and a 275 shot 10.80s QT . check it out search 10 second "REAL" sleeper 1962 impala 4 door . Everyones always talkin trash about it .. not even smart enough to check o9ut the vid response of it doin 10.80s when they say it cant do 10s .
i've raced my 3.2l m3 against dozens of honda's....but one day i've had a surprise....this guy had stickers,big exhaust and all the ricer stuff.....in fact it was a monster disguised as a ricer....that's the only honda that beat me....
@MrYoanEmond No doubt. I wasn't saying performance exhaust systems were bad. I was merely telling turbo3oh that there are more imports out there with loud exhaust and poor performance compared to domestics. Also trying to point out to him that just an exhaust doesn't make your car fast. It takes a lot more than that. Oh, and you the installation for those headers are free if you do it yourself ;) I've got some ceramic coated long tube headers on my 77 Z28 right now. Need to switch to shorties...

thats badass! perfect vehicle for weight transfer, looks like she has no problem getting traction. makes me wish i'd have started with a wagon instead of a sedan, but i'm in too deep now to switch. check out my racing vids sometime of my 89 caprice. she runs a very traction limited 13.85. keep doin what you do.

@SVPrelude IMHO, you can't beat the Marine version of the Goodwrench 502. Chevy went to a 496, so a little hunting around might get you a decent score on a leftover.. Just don't shop in a boat shop/catalog etc. Say boat and price doubles. Of course it all come down to budget, sigh. Good Luck.
Love the sleeper aspect of your ride. I'm running a 4 door sedan at 4300lbs. Looks like your suspension setup is a little hairy goin down the 1320. Have you boxed the arms or anything? What's your 60 foot time?

Beefed up the stock rear axle assembly. Usually the hot rodders put that 9" Ford rear axle housing and differential in their cars because it's strongest rear axle assembly ever. God damn FORDS!!! What year is your station wagon?
I don't. I've met a few decent tuners, but they are few and far in between. However, most people (even muscle car people) just slap a glasspack on their car and think they've got something.
@tpaladino possibly but its a budget build, and my motto has always been if i want to go faster id build a smaller car.. screw it more nitrous and rev it higher. its been to 8000 so far, and this year its getting a bigger nitrous cam so who nows low 10s maybe 9s???
