Can I just ask what you mean by slack group?

    • @ItsaDrama
      @ItsaDrama  Месяц назад

      Hi Jessica,
      Great question!
We have a private (paid for) "moving to New Zealand" community group where people who are all moving/have moved to NZ can chat, make friends and access valuable resources related to their new life down under.
The group is hosted on Slack (which is a chat based app) with over twenty different channels related to specific topics within NZ.
The community also has access to hundreds of hours of videos and private NZ podcasts made by Brian and I about NZ.
People can find out more about this community by taking our free 5 day video guide that we offer. On day 5, you are given details of how to join the community.
The group like to call themselves the 'NZ Slackers!' 😂 This is why you will here people refer to "the slack group". Most people we interview on this show are members of this private community.
I hope this answers your question! To get the FREE 5 day NZ video guide (and to find out more about the community) head to: itsadrama.com/ilovenz/
Have a great day and thank you for the question! 🇳🇿😃

That is so cool, Liz and Brian. Knowing the meaning of Slack, I'm curious to know why you came up with the name?.

NZ has been populated by hundreds of thousands of people/families, mostly since WWI and survived any family traumas and emotional upset, caused by any distance. It is much easier these days to travel any distance and for new technologies that allow easy access to everyone globally. Any sympathies should be directed to those from 100 years ago, they suffered any real hardship!! Seems people these days are perhaps too soft and eager to complain, perhaps over precious. Ultimately, if you do not like it in New Zealand, you can always leave. Good luck & stay safe. 💜💜

      Thank-you for pointing that out.
My grandparents would only be able to afford to call their family at Christmas. They were regular letter writers and looked forward to seeing the mailman.
No video calls, internet etc etc.

How nice to have Lisa and her family come to NZ, and Tauranga in particular. There are so many professions that are crying out for people, nursing in particular. We are lucky to have you here with us. Sing out if you need any assistance from a 'local' for any reason. All the best

Thats a consequence of the choice you make. You need to have a plan for this , if you come as a couple and one finds it too hard and wants to go back. Its not new and many generations hwve done it. And now all we have to do is hop on a plane! Not 6 weeks on a boat. So its all relative. Or naybe i am to pragmatic

Hi Beverly, agreed! The South is gorgeous 😊
! it’s true that the majority of new arrivals go to the North. That’s usually because they have been offered jobs there (especially a lot of our healthcare workers). Hope this answers your question! Thanks for watching 😊

NZ is one of the most left leaning hyper progressive countries on earth. In addition to being seismically active on the volcanic edge of the Pacific Plate. Two of my least favourite combinations.

@@wattlebough The left have destroyed our country, it's lost most,if not all, of the Progressive way of life, they used Covid to take out the middle class, which is the backbone of our country. Life has gone rapidly downhill since 2020.
