Got my P1s about 2 weeks ago. Since purchased the AMS. Pretty much runs none stop at the moment and has been faultless. Thanks for the input on all your videos, they have been very helpful.
I bought the P1S with the AMS combo. I'm so happy with it. After calibrating non-bambu filaments, it's an impressive 3d printer. It's fast, reliable and very efficient. Some fine tuning and tinkering helps A LOT. It's a time and filament investment when you're adjusting parameters, but it's so worth it to avoid stringing, blobs, under/overextrusion, and consistent layers. I gotta say I've got best results with bambu filament, as the presets are already in bambu studio, but manually tuning every parameter makes prints look even better. And Orca Slicer adds a bunch of features for that, I 100% recommend it!
I originally had the A1 before the bed recall. When Bambu Labs decided to no longer offer the replacement bed in the US I returned the A1 to Microcenter as suggested and upgraded to the X! Carbon because Microcenter had a rebuilt one for $350.00 less and with the full refund of the A1 and the Bambu Labs reward for waiting for the replacement bed for the A1 I could not pass that up. Since then I have also purchased a A1 Mini that was also refurbished with the AMS Lite for a great deal from Microcenter. I use them both almost every day and love them both. Thanks for the great video with your unbiased opinion. It matches my actual use and also my experience. Thanks!!!
I want to buy another Bambu before the prices jump up first of the year and this video is helping me narrow my choices. Really want to try the Mini because they say it's the quietest of the batch. Your build volume cube is making me think that the Mini the one to go with, but, that larger A1 build volume is calling to me for COSPLAY ARMOR REASONS. I'll think about it another day or two and then buy. Thanks for posting this video. Top notch, as always. :)
I was honestly surprised of how many of my “typical prints” fit on the mini. It’s small but a lot can fit on it. But when it comes to cosplay I totally understand I printed my Deadpool helmet on my A1 for Halloween and it turned out gorgeous. Like I said they are both good but it comes down to what your want to do with them.
Many thanks for this very informative video. I just purchased the P1S, but I've been having print issues with it! More fails than success!! So this has convinced me to do what i should have done in the first place, and upgrade to the X1C. The additional features and sensors just seem worth the extra money now! I'm just within my 14 days, so hopefully, I can change it ok 🤞 Many thanks 👍
Honestly if you keep having fails that many times I don't think the printer is the issue. Its probably the way your slicing the files. Switching printers won't make fails go away if I can't print something successful on my P1s then I wouldn't be able to print it on my X1C the only difference is it will tell me its failed. I'd do some more digging into the slicer and maybe upgrade the build plate before getting a new printer.
@ItsMeaDMaDe I totally understand what you're saying and I agree. But I should of mentioned that I am completely new to 3d printing, so when I setup up the new printer, with the supplied Bambu filament and tried the print the on board benchy file, and it failed, you can imagine my dissapointmeant!! I am starting to learn the slicer, and trying to figure out the settings to help prevent failures. However, I'm only using Bambu PLA and I'm suffering from a number of issues like bed adhesion, warping, stringing, initial layer failures, overhang fails etc! To be honest, I do have a technical background, so I did expect some issues, but I was hoping to have more confidence when setting a print off!! Instead, I'm now very nervous about each print, and feel I have to sit and watch it!!
@@joncooke2450Try washing your build plate with soap and water. I have had my P1S for 4 months and have not had one failure printing with PLA, PETG and ASA. The textured PEI build plate is very reliable when clean. Touching the plate with your fingers can leave an oily residue behind, which will reduce adhesion.
@@Neomaster67 thanks for that. I have been cleaning it religiously. I always finish off with IPA to ensure no marks left!! Interestingly, out of curiosity, I did try the other side, and so far, all good prints!!?? 🤷🏻♂️ Is it possible to have a "bad" side??
I doubt there is a bad side. Don't use IPA just clean the plate with Dawn dish soap and water. I have had nothing but a pleasurable experience with the P1S. It is miles ahead of the previous printers I've used. The more you use the printer and slicer, the more experience you'll get. Watch plenty of RUclips videos. Happy printing.
Thank you for the video. In all the 3d printing FB groups I'm in, all the beginners want the X1. Even though they will never print anything more than PLA. I've given up trying to explain it to them.
Yeah I’ve found no matter what you say some just want to buy the top of the line and call it a day. It’s the perceived value. I pay a lot more so I get a lot better of a printer.
I got a P1S, two AMS units, the hardened gear upgrade, 3 nozzles, 20 spools of filament (from Amazon and Ali) and some other goodies for the price of just the X1C combo. There is a reason all the ppl with print farms have a bunch of P1S or P1P and not a bunch of X1C. At the end of the day it really depends if you feel that the screen and the lidar is worth $500 or not and that's a question only you can answer.
True statement some people can justify it others can’t. In the end they both print pretty much the same as long as you have the upgrades. How is the Ali filament I’ve heard good and bad stories from it. Never tried it. My new favorite is becoming kingroon it’s pretty affordable on Amazon.
It’s a lot more than lidar and screen. Faster CPU that allows for things like better camera, AI detection and additional monitoring like chamber temp. For print farms those probably don’t mean much but for users that are using the machine for prototypes and high end material, these do come into play.
Started with the the 3 V3 Neo, then a 3 3vKE, then a 3 3vKE. They mostly make great prints. Ha Ha then bought a A1. Night and day the A1 is amazing. Ordered a Ps1 - waiting for its arrival. Great information video. Love your work - thank you. I have only had one failed print with the A1. Only because I put it into Ludicrous mode with a off brand filiment. But I have used Ludicrous mode on other print modes with the bambu filament with amazing results. So I have some creality printers for sale!
Excellent video, as always. Very informative. It's good to know that the P1S can be upgraded for the tougher filaments, but I *think* that only allows them to be used with the rear spool, not the AMS. I may be wrong, though, it's not completely clear to me. As I write this it is the last days of November and Bambu Lab is having a very good sale right now.
Thanks!! So you are partially right. There are some filaments that are recommended to only use as the single feed spool. There are others that you can use the ams. It really is dependent on the filaments but definitely something to keep in mind when using an AMS.
Thank You so much for this information. I have been running the A1 mini (No AMS) since July. It is an amazing first printer and my wife claims it runs 24/7. I want to upgrade to a bigger build volume and have been agonizing over which one A1 combo or P1S combo. I also want to be able to print some other materials but not sure it is a deal breaker. Running out of time to make a decision before the black Friday sale ends.
I cut my teeth on an Ender 3 V2 Neo and probably had a mental breakdown along the way. After about three weeks, I upgraded to a P1 S and couldn’t believe the difference. It’s been about a month and I can count on one hand the number of failed prints I’ve had and I don’t think I’ve stopped printing during that time.
Oh man i'd say you embrassed the hobby straight into an addiction printing non stop for a month. LOL. Welcome to the club. I feel mine never stop either. 😅
Brand new to the hobby as this will be my first 3d printer. Ordering the A1 with AMS. Was leaning toward the P1S but would rather spend the money on filament and accessories (extra build plate) as an entry into the hobby
I'm kinda envious of you. I wish there were machines like this when I first got into the hobby. They took forever to build and a week of calibration. Now its just out of the box and you'll be up and running as soon as you get it. The A1 is a solid machine and I don't think you will be disappointed. Happy printing and welcome to the hobby!
Great video as always. I have X1C and waiting for my A1 to come with .2mm nozzle. I design terrain tabletop gaming, the Bambu has been a game changer for prototyping and quality. I had a Wanhao i3 Plus and a CR10v2, I have both greatly modified them to improve quality and safety (specially the Wanhao)
Awesome video. I'm ready to dive head first into 3D printing with the P1S but am unsure what to include in my "starter pack" if you will. Right now I'm only interested in personal prints maybe some functional stuff. Besides the P1S itself, what else do I need? I've heard to get a spare hotend assembly and some way to dry filament? Also best place to buy filament? PLA is fine for now I think.
Well to be honest you'll get a different response from just about anyone you ask. But personally all I usually recommend is the printer, a few spools of filament (PLA) and a really good pair of snips. Everything isn't fully necessary. Over time you will find you want to get some extra things like an extra nozzle but you don't have too. I don't have any extra if something breaks I just buy a new one and wait a few days. Instead of buying stuff I don't need. When it comes to filaments. Here are my top brands. Inland (great if you have a microcenter near you), Polymaker and Kingroon. These filaments haven't failed me and I've use more spools than I can count. best of luck and I hope this helped.
Pretty in-depth video! Well done! It’s crunch time now (Black Friday) and I was debating an A1, A1 Combo or P1S for my first printer. Mostly for printing garage and tool accessories, storage organization and other stuff. Not really interested in multi color but not worrying about filament run out in the middle of the night is intriguing. Maybe get an A1 to start without the AMS and get it later? The price for the Combo is good….
The filament run out detection is on all the printers and it’s great. With an ams or ams lite you can load it up with all the same color and if one spool runs out it goes to the next it’s an amazing feature
Ive been printing on a Ender 3 S1 pro for a few months and realised while looking at the A1 or A1 mini that ALL of my designs so far fit within the 18 cm cubed even having access to a larger bed.
Thats funny you say that. When i first got the A1 Mini I thought "well not gunna be able to print on that much" then after setting up prints I looked and saw well that will fit on the Mini... Then another print " That will fit on the mini...." after 10 prints I realized more often then not my prints are really that big. So yeah your not the only one.
I am printing for the first time on my new X1 Carbon. I wanted all those extra features. So that the printer with do the "heavy Lifting" for me. As you pointed out in your video. I have a bed slinger printer. Still not working. I am printing one half of the filament spool now with the White Bambu lab PLA basic filament. I got it on the Black Friday deal about $1300.00Us for the combo deal out the Door. This printer has all the features that I am trying to put, over time on my bed slinger. I am going to print mostly PLA, PETG, and TPU filament. Mostly my own designs. Happy Printing. P.S. I am sad to see that the actual build volume is less than 250mmx250x250 at least, as I had hoped.
I heard that went doing multi color prints the time of the print increases alot in your experience have you found this to be true or is it about the same as a single color print
That is complety true. Multi-color prints take a long time. Due to it switches filament color every layer and if you have multiple colors on a layer is switches that many times. I've had some multicolor prints that took over a day and if it was one color it would of been an hour. But the results are amazing its basacily printing toys at this point. Hope that helps.
I have a K1 and im thinking of getting the P1S. Ive been having problems with prints with the k1 and im sick of spending loads of money on things that supposed to fix it. Should i buy a P1S.
Wow what a brilliant video . I’m subscribed. My 1 question. Are you saying the p1s is not good for a business( Etsy )? Is the LiDAR really worth almost £600 extra.
NO! I only said that because most people starting a business invest in things that save you time and or peace of mind. You can absolutely start a business with a P1s. The first layer detection is just great if your starting a bunch of prints and you don't have to go back to check them. If your just getting one and want to just intermittently check them you will be just fine. Since that's what you would do with any other brand printer. There all good machines and you could absolute start a business with any one of them.
I meant the x1 as a line is their flagship but the X1E has a little more versatility with higher nozzle temps that allows printing of higher performance filaments. But from a firmware and interface and quality of prints they are the same.
I am still waiting for Bambu Lab to release a BIGGER 3D Printer... I REALLY want a min. 350x350x350, or even a 250x250x500 ..... or put it this way, any of the direction in 500mm ... THAT would seriously make a dream machine for me.
Thats awesome. Its a good little printer. I've been pleasantly surprised with how well it does and to be honest the biggest surprise is I thought the build plate was too tiny but most of the prints I do fit on the plate. So I find myself printing on that more lately than my A1. I'm sure you'll love it. Good luck and happy printing!
Thanks this was the content i wanted to see. Just a request please just don't throw or mess the strings and other minute plastics, they will eventually become microplastic and cause harm. instead contain them safely (Ecobricks) and then dispose it. this way they won't have a change to escape in environment.
When I eventually move up from my ender 3 v2 I will probably get into something equivalent to the A1 with 4 color capability. Of course I would love to get into the X1-C but...the boss is hard to convince...😂
I get that. Just show the boss this video 🤣. If you get the A1 you’ll love it from that move up. I had the same printer and I liked it but the quality and speed step up was amazing.
Ha ha love the last (statement) can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked at a print that failed and said “ I should’ve fixed that before hitting print “
@@ItsMeaDMaDe yeah, the one time i broke the filament inside one of the PTFE tubes and trated printing ang the filament got stuck, one time when i upgreade smth on the bed it wasnt leveled and all layers were bad and the lasst time i accentally touched the bed with oily fingers and i forgot to wash the plate before printing so the 1st layer didnt stick.
My wife is on her way home with our p1s as we speak. We could have definitely gotten the carbon but the lidar and screen wasn’t worth the extra. Got the ams, an extra cyrpto plate from biqu (thanks for the recommendation) and the upgraded led light kit. Didn’t pull the trigger on the nozzle upgrade as we’re not printing those filaments yet but in time. 4 rolls of filament from Amazon and a vevor shelving system for less than the carbon. This family is ready to get to work!
Great Video :) I have an Ender 5 from 2020 and am thinking of upgrading to the A1. Is this a good idea given the Ender 5 is XY and the A1 a bed slinger? I mainly want the speed increase from the slow 50-80mms and the AMS system. Any help greatly appreciated.
So I would say yes you will see a noticeable increase in speed. For a bed slinger it’s honestly really fast. Just takes a bit of work when it comes to supports to make sure they don’t fall off when it’s printing fast. That’s why I upgraded to the super tack plates they do a good job with it.
I sold my old Ender 3 Pro and upgraded to an X1C last week. The difference in print speed between these new printers and the old Enders is night and day! I am realy loving it and printing non stop.
@ItsMeaDMaDe thank you for taking the time to reply it is really appreciated. The xy ender 5 has been a great printer I am just concerned about a drop in quality from a bedslinger. Keep up the good work.
I have a P1s with the Ams. I'm thinking of getting a second pinter. Im am genuinely stuck between the A1 and the A1 mini. I dont want the Ams lite for it because if i need to print something with the Ams, I will use my P1S. Im thinking the A1 mini because it's cheaper, but the A1 has the same build plate as the P1S so i don't need to buy more plates. On the other hand, I dont need to print large stuff.
I very much regret getting the A1 Mini over the A1 every time I need to print beyond 180mm. Admittedly not often but for the difference in price, I should have gotten the A1.
i regret you didi just regret you did make all 4 prints at the same scale to compare the quility and print time with a like to like. After that, then print just 1 full size 250mm build for time and quality changes for larger scale up projects.
Dunno Have an A1 (gift... grrr) With What has Proven (for me at least) the real life useless AMS contraption. Clearly THE best method to turn a 1 hour print into a 5 + hour print..Yipeee! First printing problem I noticed was the PEI print plate is erm.. unreliable.. failed prints are us. PLA does not stick to it reliably (been printing for 10 years, I've learned the bed plate drill :-) Glue stick and or painters tape works. Second print issue i tripped over was that the SAME stl. sliced with Studio.. Produced a markedly different (poor) quality print With ZERO machine, filament or Studio settings changes. EXPLAIN that one.. please ? Bumboo slicer is Crap IMO Unintuitive inconsistent and Not user friendly. Have downloaded it Twice... just to check. Control over temps and fan use is tied to Filament (typically Bumboo Preset levels) which are FAR too high and often (commonly it seems) clogs users' Nozzles ... the the filaments get baked in the hot ends. I've reverted to using Prusa slicer and .. I get better quality prints than I did from Studio (same stl.s) Then there is the STUPID Bumboo (studio) setup dance /drill.. Before EACH and every print start.. Seriously ?? Utterly pointless as No machine messes it's settings between prints. AND IF resetting was Actually required there IS a "calibration' button. Consequently My Bumboo gets a 7 out of 10 rating and that's being generous. Camera? It's worse than those front door mounted Peepholes. I have Tiny 2 gram 4 k cameras (FPV drones) that cost Me a whopping 10$ from ailexpress
Best breakdown of bambu models i have watched .
Showing the volume in cube form makes it easier yo understand for people

@@ItsMeaDMaDe yeah it does thanks
Where is the link to the documentation on how to bypass the P1S and X1C build volume restrictions?
Sorry about that I thought I added it. I just updated the description it’s there now.
I have a K1 and im thinking of getting the P1S. Ive been having problems with prints with the k1 and im sick of spending loads of money on things that supposed to fix it. Should i buy a P1S.
New P1s owner also. I love this machine. Great video. BTW where did you get that model? Thanks
Thanks glad you like it. Here is the link to the model.

I got a x1c for the elephants share,and a a1mini for a desk top for doohickeys 😂
Thanky you for your content. its so much helpfull.
You mention that the X1 Carbon is the flagship. What about the X1E?
I meant the x1 as a line is their flagship but the X1E has a little more versatility with higher nozzle temps that allows printing of higher performance filaments. But from a firmware and interface and quality of prints they are the same.
I am still waiting for Bambu Lab to release a BIGGER 3D Printer... I REALLY want a min. 350x350x350, or even a 250x250x500 ..... or put it this way, any of the direction in 500mm ... THAT would seriously make a dream machine for me.
Yeah I keep hearing rumors but we will see. I would love to see it too.
@@ItsMeaDMaDe I don't hear anything, but that is because I'm like deaf :D (When I am not using my special hearing aid....)
I am 3d printing newbie, sometime ago bought my first 3d printer, A1 mini. Still waiting it for arrive, hope it will be as good as in videos 😊
@ItsMeaDMaDe Thanks, already started printing. It really is good 😊
Could you please paint one of the figure and show it?
Would really love to see them 100% done.
Oh yes I’m planning on painting the venom.
@@ItsMeaDMaDe You better show on your (dare I say) GREAT CHANNEL!
A1 done
Nice.
Superb review!
Glad you enjoyed it
I got the A1 combo and i have it for a few weeks now and it performs great! I never had any issues (that i didnt cause xd)
That is awesome. I hope you are enjoying it.
@ most definitely so much we bought another one 😂😂
Very good video but you did an illegal you put a cardboard spool in the ams
got a p1s with abs. its great. an upgrade from Monoprice Voxel.
love the vid tho
The p1s is a solid upgrade for sure.
have p1s it is the bomb
Peal that protective film off your LCD screen
No way. I’m one of those weird people that like to keep it on.
Bro forgot about the p1p
And the X1E
@@HenryOak-dm4lr HA HA. All are solid its really just thinking about all the factors and what works for you.
Not really, a P1P is a P1S, just without panels. There is not much difference to say there would be a print difference.
i regret you didi just regret you did make all 4 prints at the same scale to compare the quility and print time with a like to like.
PLA does not stick to it reliably (been printing for 10 years, I've learned the bed plate drill :-)
Glue stick and or painters tape works.
I get better quality prints than I did from Studio (same stl.s)
Then there is the STUPID Bumboo (studio) setup dance /drill..
I have Tiny 2 gram 4 k cameras (FPV drones) that cost Me a whopping 10$ from ailexpress
its insane how much this video smells of chatgpt
wow you waste a lot of filament
@@RazaXML yeah, I waste a lot of filament testing stuff out. So you don’t have too. 😁
