I recently bought an A1 over the summer and have been printing non stop. Thank you so much for your videos. They have definitely helped me in my research and progress in this hobby. It has gotten to the point where I have even been able to patent a design I made and be in conversations with a company to make it more viable for buyers!
Bought the A1 Combo a few weeks ago after watching some of your videos and it's been a blast. I'm a teacher and I've been printing mini lightsabers as prizes for my students, along with a bunch of different toys for my children.
You sound like the type of teacher that we need to make a positive example of. Engaging and actively rewarding students were always the teachers that held the most attention when I was in school.
A1 has hardened metal gears to move the filaments...and swapable hotends (swap to hardened).... and also has 4 colour AMS. for prosumers. build a tent for it and it can easily do ABS etc.
I've got to say, as an introduction to 3d printing, the A1 I picked up ... I hate to say it, but it was as close to the "This is how it should be, and this is how to grab and keep a customer" experience as I've ever seen. The ease of assembly - and little touches like *the order things are packed in* (you need these screws, take the top packet, you need these screws next, they're the next packet down, versus "throw it all in a box") and the plug-and-go was just the best introduction to the hobby ever. Now, I'm looking at two other printers - getting the mini *just* to get the little add on stuff printed ("Hmm, the main A1 is printing XYZ, I could use some mounting hooks and such") which its lower volume is fine for, and the P1S, probably later in the year for the sake of playing with newer materials. If the A1 didn't have that introduction and I had to deal with the way 3d printers used to be (which, lookign from the outside, was mostly a pain of setting up and hoping you had things aligned while muttering odd code incantations) I'd probably not be as interested. (Side note, I had *that* experience with a laser engraving kit with poor instructions... it'll be used, of course, but it was an annoying introduction when just a *few* tweaks to instructions and layout would have helped.)
So i went Straight to the X1C w/ams as my first printer, with no real knowledge of 3D printing. (It is overkill at the moment for me, ngl) Fast forward a few months(with lots of teaching from friends), and I don't regret it! I can count my failed prints on one hand. I'm still branching out from PLA & exploring other materials, but nothing truly exotic that the printer is designed towards, yet. I do have future plans to print more exotic materials, while my main use is more aligned with yours. Now that I'm planning for a 2nd printer in the distant future, this video does have me thinking of the p1s! Great Video as always!
The P1S is the best purchase I've ever made. It completely renewed my passion for 3D printing, my old CR-10 mini was great but I started having so many issues it turned me off 3D printing and I stopped using it. Since I got the P1S in may it's been going almost 24/7. 6 helmets, some 4 foot tall weapons, things I've sold, countless other stuff. And Its making my first full armor on it a breeze.
@@fajarkoolhaas2101 ya I've printed 7 helmets now. Some helmets can be done in 1 piece depending on the size (spiderman, deadpool, power rangers) other larger helmets can be cut up to fit
I have the same Cr10 smart pro and seems like its not going to print some good stuff somewhere in the near future. Seems like i am gonna move to BAMBOOOOOOOOOOO!
Something I recommend touching on for the A1...the "Eddy Sensors" in the Nozzle (Active Flow Rate Compensation). A feature not present in the others, excluding the X1 (Lidar). This dramatically helps prevent flow rate issues, especially for those who are not used to fine tune calibrating their filaments!
One thing you didn't touch on is the toolless hot-swappable nozzle on the A1. It's such an amazing feature to swap the stock 0.4 mm nozzle to a 0.6 mm for big prints or even a 0.2 mm nozzle for miniatures or high-detail prints. It's such an amazing feature and it really makes the A1 an excellent choice for someone getting their first printer. Also, the A1 is a lot less noisy in my experience.
this is really helpful. I have the X1C and don't need another enclosure one, or AMS. My only concern about the A1 is the footprint needed for the bed moving around.
The only tool required to swap the nozzle on the P and X is a pair of hex screws using the same allen key that came in the box for all the shipping screws - it's a non-issue
@vakieh4381 And you have to unplug both the heater cable and fan cable from the toolhead board for those printers. Not only is the A1 completely toolless, it's virtually impossible to break something when changing nozzles. It may be a non-issue to you, but for a beginner, this can be a big deal. Especially for people who strive to use 3D printers as "appliances".
I love my P1S! Definitely my most precious tool in my house and can't wait to get more like the A1 mini next. Just to have something actually at my desk and prototype small parts like I used to. The P1S is just too big for that but each printer has its use cases. The P1S can deliver quality, desired materials some printers can't do, and multi-material printing. The A1 mini is perfectly suited for any beginner without the AMS lite and compact. Bambu Lab really has done a nice job with their products, software, and ecosystem of parts. Highly recommend to anyone interested in their printers.
We got the X1C on your recommendation and we loved it so much we got a second one. We've had them now for over a year, they're both still amazing. The AMS is a great addition to it, and we especially like the AI detection. Prints don't fail often (99% of the time it's adhesion issues because we didn't clean and prep the plate properly) and it has detected it every single time, saving us time and filament. We ended up getting a textured PEI plate for them, which I'd also highly recommend. Overall, I couldn't be happier with it and will happily recommend it. It looks intimidating, but I was a complete noob with 3D printing, and your videos + the instructions inside had it up and running the first benchy in under 10 minutes.
I started with an Ender 3 V2 some time back and I was having a good time with it until it started having a TON of random little issues. Have a family member that got a P1S some time back and it caught my eye. Fast forward to this years Black Friday sale, I picked up a P1S w/AMS, then passed my Ender onto a good friend of mine that is exceptional with tinkering and troubleshooting to get him into the hobby. I’m excited for mine to arrive and to really get back into printing again! 😄
Started with an ender, then went to a v400 for better print speed, as well as a larger print size, but ran into a few different issues such as hitting prints off the bed and other issues causing quite a few failed prints. Finally i decided i wanted to get a bambu printer, ended up going with the x1 carbon, and it has been fantastic. Its ease of use makes the hobby really enjoyable. I agree about the price, but i have had the printer a few times detect spaghetti and stop the print, and also enjoy the touch screen. I didnt really want to get 2 p1s, just wanted one that worked perfectly. (Maybe would get another if they make a printer with a bigger bed) Overall great printer and company, and the bambu handy app is fantastic allowing me to print from my phone without even having to slice everything. Highly recommend to anyone who is on the fence with which printer to get.
I think this message comes too late, but I want to congratulate you. Frankly, I like your videos. They are detailed and easy to understand, and you help many people with them. Thank you. The problem with the discoloration of the A1 could be caused by a change in speed. At higher speeds, the filament receives less cooling than the parts printed at slower speeds. We can't always control the printing speed, and sometimes I have problems with discoloration or color changes on overhangs or near corners.
Just bought my P1S!! I've been struggling with my Creality Cr-10 Smart Pro for a year or so . I'm so happy to start having frictionless printing!! Thanks for everything you do for this community, Frank.
Thank you for all your videos and honest reviews. I'm finally taking the plunge and getting my first 3d printer and excited to do so. Been weighing my options and your videos have been extremely helpful. While I'm very hands on with being able to build/tinker with things (i.e. android over iphone, build my own pc, etc.), I think I'm heavily leaning now toward the Bambu Lab brand. Now, just need to decided between the A1 Combo or P1P... I know I have a long way to go and lot to learn (feel like my feet are just in the kiddy pool at this point), but am hoping to be able to print a large range of things from RPG mini's and terrain pieces to larger scale works like masks, gadgets/tools, and decorations. Speed isn't too big of a deal for me at this time as these will be more for personal projects and won't need to worry about quantity over quality, but not sure if the P1P would offer that smidgen of better quality (especially with smaller projects like the minis and 0.2 mm prints) and more room to grow with more filament options in the future.
Do yourself a favor and get your self the P1S. I’m about to finish my 4th MM Power Ranger helmet (along with some other random prints) and each one comes out better than the last the more I learn about printer settings and post processing. I’m so glad I finally took that dive into this hobby and I’m very happy with how far I’ve come. Special thanks to you Frank for helping me get into this and for all the tips and tricks! You’re a huge inspiration! Love the videos :)
I love my P1S and actually plan on getting two more when I can! Only thing is I need me a good desk that’s sturdy to set it on! Also love your videos! Always enjoy getting to see what you’re working on and you inspired me to start printing a war machine suit!
My first printer was an Elegoo Neptune 4 Max. Which is definitely a Problem Child, but I got it at a great deal during the Labor Day sale, and I wanted something that prints REAL BIG. When it works, it's great, when it doesn't, it's frustrating, but I think it's been a good opportunity for me. As my first printer it has made me actually LEARN more about how to adjust and tweak settings etc. And its shown me that I DO like this hobby, even when it causes problems. That said, I have been seriously considering grabbing a P1S as a second printer just for something nicer to handle and do more consistent printing without needing to tweak and adjust settings constantly. I just REALLY wish that Bambu made something with a bigger build area. I wanna print REAL BIG! Maybe someday soon.
It's funny, I've had the same experience with my Neptune 4. A lot of tweaking, etc., but so much valuable knowlege about 3D printing that I would've missed out on by getting a printer that just worked out of the box. I acually enjoyed the failure and the tinkering just as much as every good print. Now it's working perfectly I would say 80 percent of the time and I absolutely love it! I was thinking about getting a P1S but I couldn't bring myself abandoning my lovely Neptune 4 :) Maybe on Black Friday there'll be a good deal on the combo... I'll probably get it then but I'll alway keep my Neptune 4 ;)
A1 is probably the best entry level. 98% of my prints were successful. My failed prints were completely my fault. (Had the filament set to pla instead of petg on the ams, if you know you know) overall an awesome printer. I can't wait for my next one. The addiction begins. 😅
Great video. I own almost exclusively Bambu and Prusa machines. This is a great breakdown of the ups and downs of Bambu products that I completely agree with.
i hate that i paid 699 plus taxes /shipping so like 796 when it first came out and now the p1s is 599 but under 700 shipped lol. those A holes! They should give us vouchers to get a enclosure for paying that much more for the p1p.
I got a P1S with AMS, and upgraded to hardened nozzle, and extruder gear. Owning it has been an absolute pleasure. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, so working on the printer, or ams is a breeze.
Thanks for posting this Bambu Lab printer comparison, Frank! Lots of valuable info here. I was planning to go with P1P, but now I'd rather get the P1S and get the AMS upgrade later. Cheers!!
Good review. I do have a video production tip for you. Your audio is off a little it sounds like you are filming in a small space. Hang up a ferny pad or blanket heavier the better on the wall behind your camera. It will reduce/eliminate that echo and some of the sharpness in the audio. Foam egg crate on the off camera walls will do wonders as a permanent solution. I have making tv shows for 18 years. Keep up the good work.
I have an x1c .. got it when they released it after the Kickstarter. Absolutely love it and have 0 regrets (even though I had to get it replaced under warranty for a few different issues). I completely agree with you and always advise the a1 or p1s to my friends depending on budget and have considered getting an a1 myself as it is quieter. But I will wait for the new releasing if they ever come for a larger build plate lol
Thank you so much for all videos, I love your content! I just ordered an A1 today, and your review really pushed me towards it. And of course I used your link 😉. Keep printing bro
Been a subscriber since the days of you assembling the Ender 5+. Still have mine but about to gift it to the son of a good friend, as my P1S is now my love of printers. Patiently awaiting a larger machine to arrive from Bambu but I do have a Neptune 3 Max that handles the big stuff. I am getting a second P1S for a Black Friday purchase. Thx for all you do.
A1 mini's a great entry level because of its price and size. I picked one up over the summer for 200 bucks at microcenter. I've been interested in 3d printing for about a decade but the cost has always been a huge barrier, now I can easily get one with my limited space. When I get a little more space I'm gonna look into a midsize printer like the p1s.
Hi awesome videos I have an A1 and one day hope to have a channel like yours! I’m 7 and just started a few months ago when my dad bought me a 3d printer!
I am a huge fan of Bambu Lab and their printers, but I have not had good experiences with their silk PLAs. I have had the exact same rough texture on the exterior walls that you had on your A1 print (I think I also saw it a little on your X1C print on the right jaw bone). I also noticed that their silk stuck WAY more to the hologram plates I was printing on with a bed temp of 65c compared to every other brand of silk filament I have. For that matter their silk sticks to the hologram plates so badly I have to scrub it off with a blue sponge and dish soap with some elbow grease, and I don't have that issue with ANY other filament regardless of type of vendor. My conclusion is they have modified their silk PLA formula so that it will print faster overall and also not require slowing down the outer walls to say 50mm/s to get a shiny exterior. I wasted about a 1/3rd of their silk blue PLA trying to print a Tron bike with it before I threw in the towel and bought a 3rd party roll of blue silk which gave me 0 issues. The only thing I think could try next is to try the roll because maybe the additives they added absorbed water, but currently I avoid their silk PLA like the plague for the very issue you showed. I love all of their other filaments, especially their high speed PLA and translucent PETG.
I love your videos. Very nonbiased, and honest. I wanted to know your opinion on what would be the best filament printer that would get as close to resin quality as possible but able to print wearable mask sizes. I don't need it to be fast, I don't need it to be fancy, just the best quality print with a sub request for extra size. (I want to use the prints as casts for bronze molds in sand or otherwise.)
I was planning to get a P1S but was hoping for a couple other things that a P2 was gonna bring. Just saw Qidi announced their Plus 4 and it looks phenomenal, especially with the build size. I think I'll pick up a Plus 4 for now, and an A1 or A1 mini later as a secondary printer, and for printing smaller projects.
I want to get started in the 3D printing world and have been stuck between a Bambu printer, FlashForge 5m, and Neptune series. I think i am officially convinced on the Bambu p1s. Your content has been very helpful in guiding me to my first 3D printer. Keep up the great work
Ironically just got a P1P before this video dropped as my 20th printer. Looking forward to companion cubing it and putting it through its paces. I got the hardened steel nozzle and camera upgrades to do what I need from the X1 without dropping way more cost.
I love my X1C for printing lots of stuff for DND and rwndom projects. I do hope they announce a larger one soon as that is the main limitation. Some things dont fit as on big piece on the current bed size
For the X1C, you can disable the AI monitoring if it's something that is being extra annoying. For the P1P/P1S, you can pick up a hardened steel extruder gear assembly for $20 and a hardened steel hotend for $15. So, $635 to be able to do engineering materials on the P1S. Ant it has actually come down in price even further since the release of this video. So you could do engineering materials for under $600 which is insane to me.
Ordered the the x1c the other day. It will be my first. Thank you so much for this video. I wanted all the bells with it 😂 Yes I ordered from your link. Hopefully you got credit
I just upgraded from an Ender 3 Pro to the P1S (non-AMS) and am really impressed with the results of my first test prints. I've been trying to decide between this or a K1 Max, but hearing how Bambu Labs printers are more reliable helped with my choice.
Just to add for anyone considering the printers, while it is true the X1 comes with the hardened nozzle, you can change out any of the other printers to the hardened nozzle also. You can also just mount a WiFi camera that's better quality.
Just watched your graphite finishing on the Mando helmet and I had to subscribe! Great tutorials! I just ordered graphite and will test this on my leg parts!
I have many friends with printers and I have had them make me things in the past. Since I started my own business, (not 3D printing), I have found a need for some custom prints. I decided on the X1C as it was the best out there. Why not get the best if you don't know what you're doing eh? My goal was to print TPU corner protectors. Sadly, I haven't had any luck with TPU. So now I just use it to make presents for friends and family. After 1100Hrs in just over three months, I am super happy with it. I just wish I could get the TPU to work. I also have a dual AMS setup for 8 colour prints and no, TPU feeds out of a Creality Space Pi heater. Do you use a lot of TPU in your prints? I do not recall seeing any, but if you do, HOW!? Thanks for having an awesome channel bub.
I am looking to get a 3d printer soon and looking at getting the P1S combo. I just barely subscribed love your stuff in the background love the helmets. I saw a kingdom hearts keyblade ❤😍 I am in love and seeing the other weapons are so cool. I hope you can get a chance to respond but I am just doing research and it would be my first 3d printer.
My wife just got me the P1S combo for my birthday, I went from an Adventure 4 to that sooooo HUGE upgrade I don't think I've really stopped printing lol my only issue so far is on max size prints a corner has listed so I messed them both up, just gotta figure that out
@@thedarkness37 Not necessarily any downsides I would say, the only thing is it's a bedslinger so it's a bit louder and lower quality, but I do highly recommend the A1.
@@peap1610I have an A1 mini and a p1p. Outside of build volume, they’re basically the same. There’s really no point in buying a p1p anymore, as the a1 does everything but is way cheaper
they need a 320mm cubed printer for me to spend the money, only because it's a resonable move for them to make so i kinda expect them to do it as the next printer release (i'm kinda surprised they went with the A1 series but I can see them wanting to hit that market segment as well), and i'm not gonna spend the money on the p1s only to have buyers remorse when the bigger ones come out ;)
I've got a SV08 and want multi color prints since the co print project for it seems to of disappeared off the internet. I think after watching your video, I might just got for the A1 combo, especially with the black friday deals currently going on plus I don't need the speed since my SV08 prints fast and with very good quality. Great video comparison :)
I just got the A1 mini combo about a week ago now and have absolutely loved it. I already have a Ender 3 s1 plus. Do for larger prints, that covers that. But I found a lot of things I were printing were quite small. So with that and limited space to put a 2nd printer. I felt that was perfect. I was wondering if you have a guide to reduce the amount of waste from the filament “poop”. Especially when changing colours
Thanks for the video mate. Would love to buy the best Bamboo Labs printer I could get but the print size is way too small. They need to do a 400 cubed. Or at least a 300mm. I'll wait a while before updating my Creality machines 👍
Right now financially I can either buy the p1s without the ams. Or the a1 with the ams light. At these sale prices I don’t want to make a mistake on my first printer. I know that both would not be a mistake in printing. But given I’m just starting I want as many options open to me.
My next printer is going to be an A1 Mini - for no other reason than to continue my collection of mini printers - Monoprice Mini, Prusa Mini, Voron 0.2, Positron 3.2, KP3S...
Love my bambu p1s Since i got it i rarely use my others but im waiting for a larger scale one to come out. I just can't see myself getting a k1 max. I love bambus ams capabilities
Thank you! I got a ANYCUBIC NEO KOBRA 2 I’m returning it. I can’t get anything to stick to the bed. I’ve tried salt/sugar, glue, blue tape, and cleaning it. I’ve played with temps nothing works. P1S is what I’m thinking.
Looking to get into 3d printing. I am leaning on the Bambi labs p1s or XC. I just found your videos and really like them. Have you tried the Qidi plus 4 just wanted your thoughts if so.
Great video about Bambus printers! I was just wondering since you mentioned that your current favorite printer is the P1S, how does the Creality K1 Max stacks up against it? Since it has a little bigger build volume I have been more interest in that lately. But in your opinion, what makes the P1S better than the K1 Max? curious to hear from someone who has used them both :) Keep on with the great work and videos :D
Hi, The P1PS and X1C - are the enclosures temperature controlled to facilitate those filament types requiring a particular temperature range for optimal performance?
I’m not sure if others have commented on this already, but you can put the hardened steel hot end on the P1 S and presumably the P1 P for pretty minimal additional cost.
Possible to swap extruder and nozzle in the P1S and get the best bang for the buck? AI seems to be a gimmicky feature, and lidar is good to have. Btw amazing channel, a bunch of you videos has inspired me to graduate from enders.
Great info! One thing that wasn't mention is noise. I have a Creality Cr10sV2 and and Ankermake m5 and both are too loud to keep in my office. How does the noise level of the Bambu (P1S and X1 Carbon - current leaders in my research) compare?
I am 2 weeks into 3D printing and I'm really enjoying it. I purchased a Ankermake M5C which has been great, but I'm starting to out grow it. My next projects are either larger in size (Helmets) or higher in quality. I've watched a ton of your videos to try and help me decide but I'm stuck... The Bambu P1P has fantastic reviews but with a 256mm build plate, it falls just short of being able to print a full Mando helmet. What printer would you recommend in this situation? Keep up the great videos!
Coming from Raise3D machines... Those prints you showed... The quality looks great and expected for the A1, P1P and P1S. But the quality from the flagship X1 is just horrible. I am considering their printer for a while now as my others are busy 24/7 and was considering X1 because of all the "great reviews" on youtube. But seeing the quality here made me realize its not worth it.. The P1S will be just fine. Thank you for helping me decide and not spend double the cash on the X1. Will rather buy additional P1S if the first one will meet my expectations and still be below the X1 price range.
Love your videos Frank! I want to get a Bambu Labs but I'm just so hesitant because the Creality CR10 Pro that I had a few years back left such a bad taste in my mouth for FDM printers. It wasn't cheap and I had SO many problems with that thing. One day it would print fine. Then the next 10 or so prints would fail horribly. Ended up trashing it. I just had enough and destroyed it. Anyway, I want a good FDM printer that will simply work. No fussing, no upgrading half the parts to make it good. None of that. I want it to be like my Epax resin printer. Work flawlessly out of box so that I can actually enjoy using it. Bed adhesion was one of my biggest issues. I'd prep the plate the same every time, but the prints would contently fail. I even got a Wam Bam flex plate thinking it may help but didn't make a difference. I really think my issues was that crappy auto leveling thing that it used. I would manually adjust it, but it seemed to change the calibration when it did its test point thing. I gave up. Hours, days, weeks but messing with it. I'd like high quality prints and could care less about how fast it prints. Quality over quantity is more important to me. I'm not looking for 8K Resin quality but a nice finish for larger prints or functional pieces would be nice. Would a Bambu be my best bet??
Great video, but it kinda reaaally bugs me that you never mentioned that you can buy that hardened steel nozzle for 35$ from the bambu store and install in the other (idk about the a1) printers. Just sayin
Question my good sir. I have a A1 and P1S and I have a big dome of a head. Can you do a step by step tutorial on how to make a helmet into multi parts and then how to put it together. For example the green ranger helmet. I cant get it to the scale I need it to. Because it's too big. But since I'm new to printing. I'm scared of cutting it and trying to weld together. Thanks for all your help. You're video's have helped me a lot.
I remember you saying once that you were using your K1 (I don’t recall if it was the max or the smaller one) was your work horse. Flavor of the month? Or is the Bambu Lab video your current opinion? I am not being critical…I am in the market for my first printer in the CoreXY form factor. I do prefer the size of the K1 Max, but throwing that part out…I could get a regular K1 cheaper than the P1. Thoughts on that comparison, or maybe that would be an idea for a video K1 vs P1 - Cage Match!!!
He is talking about the k1 max due to the size. He prints different files on the machines and the K1 max is easier for larger props without having to weld them. Defo any Bambu over the standard K1 (pretty sure he mentioned it in a previous video)
I've been wanting a 3d printer for years now either FDM or resin but have been hesitant due to how toxic people say the fumes are. I live in an apartment with my 6 year old and don't really have a good way to vent the printers. I've also seen videos of some people saying this isn't as bad as people make it out to be. Are these really that bad or toxic and if so is their any kind of air filtration that can help?
Im new to 3d printing and I really regret buying the a1 mini because now I want to buy a bunch of other bambu printers its like a gateway into 3d printing lmao I love my a1mini but now i want more with bigger build plates!
My biggest issue with the Bambu printers is that even the most expensive one is less than 300x300 on the build plate. For stability in my cosplay pieces I want to print in as few parts as possible. If Bambu came out with something like the X1C at 300x300 or even more I'd snap it up.
I like the Mini just because it is a lot more portable, I can print a handle for it and take it anywhere. It may be a small bed plate but I can print 80% of what I want, anything else I can use my K1 max
I love the PS1, its so much better than the other printers I've owned: Bambu PS1 QIDI PLUS4 3D Printer, Max 600mm/s High-Speed Printing Creality K1 Max 3D Printer Official, 600mm/s Max ANYCUBIC Kobra Max 3D Printer, Large 3D Printer Voxelab Aquila D1 FDM 3D Printer Voxelab Aquila Pro 3D Printer Auto Leveling,DIY FDM 3D Printer Kit QIDI TECHNOLOGY Dual Extruder Desktop 3D Printer
Honestly, if I could have the screen and hardened steel hot-end from the X1C on the P1S, it would be absolutely perfect. All the other bells and whistles on the X1C don't really interest me. Still, the P1S is just hard to beat.
I recently bought an A1 over the summer and have been printing non stop. Thank you so much for your videos. They have definitely helped me in my research and progress in this hobby. I've got to say, as an introduction to 3d printing, the A1 I picked up ...

Full size wearable helmets?
@@fajarkoolhaas2101 ya I've printed 7 helmets now. Some helmets can be done in 1 piece depending on the size (spiderman, deadpool, power rangers) other larger helmets can be cut up to fit
@@NotALlama397 and yet all of the videos on your channel are gaming clips. ARE YOU NOT DOING ANYTHING WAAAAAAY MORE INTERESTING!? Hintedy-hint-hint!
Honestly as a Flashforge adventurer user the toolless swappable nozzle was nothing new. I'm mostly surprised that more manufacturers don't do it.
this is really helpful.
It looks intimidating, but I was a complete noob with 3D printing, and your videos + the instructions inside had it up and running the first benchy in under 10 minutes.
your channel is always so helpful, educational, and inspirational
This helped me select between the P1P and P1S. Thank you for saving me money in the long run!
I’m interested in hearing more. I’m considering a Neptune as my first printer. Recommend it or no?
Will you be review the K1 series?
A1 is probably the best entry level. 98% of my prints were successful. My failed prints were completely my fault. (Had the filament set to pla instead of petg on the ams, if you know you know) overall an awesome printer. I can't wait for my next one. The addiction begins. 😅
Great video. I own almost exclusively Bambu and Prusa machines. This is a great breakdown of the ups and downs of Bambu products that I completely agree with.
I'm a PLA goblin, The P1P is my baby, the fact that its $499 now is such a W. I just wish the bambu printers had a 300x300 built volume instead.
here's to hoping we see the next Printer they announce have that larger build volume!
@@Swainhammer13 That would probably dominate the cosplay market.
@@northernlight8857 I'll definitely be looking into one if/when it happens.
@@northernlight8857 literally as my wife is a pro cosplayer. i hate making things into tiny pieces. i would scream for a 350mm^3 bambu.
i hate that i paid 699 plus taxes /shipping so like 796 when it first came out and now the p1s is 599 but under 700 shipped lol. those A holes! They should give us vouchers to get a enclosure for paying that much more for the p1p.
Great video and thank you for the extensive information in a very understandable format:)
I am a 3D printing newbie. I bought the P1S Combo and love it. Learning something new everyday. Lithophanes are awsome.
I have 4 p1s and 4 a1 mini. The a1 mini is my favorite. I hope they drop even more in price when large one drops.
I'm still a relative amateur but my P1S makes me feel like a pro. I just love it.
I’m holding out for a core xy and the K2 max has a build volume I like. Just waiting for guys like you to get their hands on it and test it out.
Have the A1M. Been thinking about the QIDI Plus 4. My workplace has 3 X1C's w/AMS so I'm not sure if I want to go with the P1's.
Excellent video! As always! Honest and concise! ❤
P1 : plastic gears...A1 hardened metal gears....build a enclosure for the A1 and get the hardened hotend...and its the best.
Gears? Or head.
I ended up buying the bambu x1c still waiting for it to arrive. Just for the piece of mind of starting a 3d print and leaving home.
I ordered the Bambu Lab A1 yesterday, it'll be my first 3D printer. Funny that Frank posts this today!
I ordered mine last week. Then this comes out. Typical but I’m happy with the A1.
I have a P1P that I got because of your videos I’m currently using it to print a few helmets and stuff and have loved it
Great video! Very informative looking to buy the Bambu Lab printer.
Me too I just bought the p1s combo with the ams 4 color spool thing combo 24:56 for $800 I hope that's all good deal!
My wife just got me the P1S combo for my birthday, I went from an Adventure 4 to that sooooo HUGE upgrade I don't think I've really stopped printing lol my only issue so far is on max size prints a corner has listed so I messed them both up, just gotta figure that out
Waiting for Bambu Labs to drop a larger scale printer before I buy another, I got 3 A1s and they're nice, but they have downsides. 🥶
May I ask what are the downsides?
not being a p1p
@@thedarkness37 Not necessarily any downsides I would say, the only thing is it's a bedslinger so it's a bit louder and lower quality, but I do highly recommend the A1.
@@peap1610I have an A1 mini and a p1p. Outside of build volume, they’re basically the same. There’s really no point in buying a p1p anymore, as the a1 does everything but is way cheaper
Not to mention the a1 series is locked to only 4 colors if I'm not mistaken
I just got the P1S yesterday and I love it.
they need a 320mm cubed printer for me to spend the money, only because it's a resonable move for them to make so i kinda expect them to do it as the next printer release (i'm kinda surprised they went with the A1 series but I can see them wanting to hit that market segment as well), and i'm not gonna spend the money on the p1s only to have buyers remorse when the bigger ones come out ;)
Just get the P1S with the big tree tech panda touch, and you can always add a hotend upgrade like the big tree tech revo hotend nozzle.
Great video, this is the info i needed 😃
I've got a SV08 and want multi color prints since the co print project for it seems to of disappeared off the internet. I think after watching your video, I might just got for the A1 combo, especially with the black friday deals currently going on plus I don't need the speed since my SV08 prints fast and with very good quality. Great video comparison :)
This is very helpful I have been wanting to get one of them for so long
I just got my a1 last night and I’m in love with this machine
I just got the A1 mini combo about a week ago now and have absolutely loved it. I already have a Ender 3 s1 plus. Do for larger prints, that covers that. But I found a lot of things I were printing were quite small. So with that and limited space to put a 2nd printer. I felt that was perfect.
I was wondering if you have a guide to reduce the amount of waste from the filament “poop”. Especially when changing colours
This helped big time thank you bro!
Now you have to review the qidi plus 4 and compare it to the p1s or x1c
Once again ..Thank You Frank! 🎉
I really wanted a bambu , but the 300x300 of the k1 max , with your reviews changed my mind in the end
But in your opinion, what makes the P1S better than the K1 Max? curious to hear from someone who has used them both :)
Keep on with the great work and videos :D
Hi, The P1PS and X1C - are the enclosures temperature controlled to facilitate those filament types requiring a particular temperature range for optimal performance?
I’m not sure if others have commented on this already, but you can put the hardened steel hot end on the P1 S and presumably the P1 P for pretty minimal additional cost.
Yeah you can upgrade them
Possible to swap extruder and nozzle in the P1S and get the best bang for the buck? AI seems to be a gimmicky feature, and lidar is good to have. Btw amazing channel, a bunch of you videos has inspired me to graduate from enders.
You’ll notice the stainless steel nozzles have been discontinued, you can only get hardened steel nozzles now. Nice bonus.
Great info! One thing that wasn't mention is noise. I have a Creality Cr10sV2 and and Ankermake m5 and both are too loud to keep in my office. How does the noise level of the Bambu (P1S and X1 Carbon - current leaders in my research) compare?
If those 2 are too loud then you’ll be hard pressed to find anything quieter. Bambus are just as loud
Just sayin
And then you can print with carbon infused materials (as long as you have P1S or P1P with enclosure)
you missed X1-E! some of us need the heated chamber
Honestly I 100% forgot about that haha but it’s a very specific use case that doesn’t really align with 99% of my audience but you’re correct
Any chance you got the qidi plus 4? Interested to see your thoughts on it.
Nice to meet you today in the Jackson classroom! Awesome videos!
I show how to cut up helmets in a few videos
@FranklyBuilt Ya I saw one but I think it was on orca or something. Or is it the same as Bambu?
@@FranklyBuilt wanna hear something funny . As soon as I went you the second comment RUclips suggested a video from you on welding the helmets 😂😆
Hey Frank great video. But, you didnt mention that the none X1C printers can be upgraded with a hardened steel nozzle.
Thanks, this video was a lot of help
My biggest issue with the Bambu printers is that even the most expensive one is less than 300x300 on the build plate. For stability in my cosplay pieces I want to print in as few parts as possible. If Bambu came out with something like the X1C at 300x300 or even more I'd snap it up.
I like the Mini just because it is a lot more portable, I can print a handle for it and take it anywhere. It may be a small bed plate but I can print 80% of what I want, anything else I can use my K1 max
I want a big one
However, I love my P1P and have no complaints
I love the PS1, its so much better than the other printers I've owned:
