Yeah I was surprised too. I remember like 9 years ago friends of mine complaining of how difficult it was so it always put me off. But now I'm finally interested again
Just got my first printer, elegoo whatever four, printed a benchy, could not be more happy with my first 3-D print. Thank you for the videos. Have a good day.
This is basically just a playlist for all your other videos, but with detailed descriptions of what the videos are about, which may sound like a criticism but I absolutely love it. This is pretty much exactly what I was looking for and I will 100% be going through these other videos now.
I've been debating on getting into this hobby for a long time, and am finally about to pull the trigger and dive in. This is the first Video of yours I have watched and I'm glad I watched it. You gave a lot of wonderful info and resources. Thank you for doing this for the community.
I'm a retired CTO of a company, and I've wanted to 'play' with a 3D printer for years. Now that I'm retired (65) and finishing up the loose ends, Next year, I hope, I'll be 3D printing. Nice overview. I find all this a little funny. I have a College degree in Printing, you know, Ink on Paper printing. Our company was huge, and we printed all kinds of things, from Harry Potter books to Sports Illustrated. Thinks about a Bambu Lab X1C 3D Printer for Christmas and going from there.
I have been watching you for at least 3 years now and i remember watching your old tutorials, i just want to thank you for getting me into this amazing hobby
I’ve been printing for 3-4 years and I’m still learning stuff from you. Still plenty I want/need to learn too which is kinda why I love this hobby. Something new is always gonna be at my grasp to learn
Frank, you and Emily the Engineer singlehandedly got me from being intimidated about 3D printing to owning two Bambu X1C printers. One is going pretty much 24x7, while the other one I use for custom parts for my work. Your incredibly informative videos inspired me to leave my comfort zone and discover a fun and extremely practical hobby that's brought us a lot of joy (and a little bit of $$$ 😅) Keep being awesome dude
New format for videos is PERFECT! This literally embodies my favorite author. The "2 friends sitting down and having a conversation" style works SOOO well for me. And I love the update of where we are now as to where we were 5yrs ago kind of subject matter. Stay awesome, bro! 🍻
Wow man you made my day...i have zero kmowledge about this 3d printing. So much of questions on where to start and what to buy and the dependencies and all...thanks for making...subscribed now to watch more on your making and hacks using your printers.❤ from INDIA
I just have to say I really enjoy your videos. I am new to this and got my printer for Black Friday. My third print is a Cosmic Fury Red Ranger helmet, and wow, do I need to learn a lot.
Frank you sir are amazing! Your one of the big reasons why I'm diving into this huge rabbit hole of a hobby. I got my first printer 3 days ago and printed my first benchy within the hour of the printer arriving. This has been so fun and exciting for my son and I to grow and tinker with stuff. Thank you very much for the inspiration!
duuuuuude! you just gave this 53-yr-old SOO much information & confidence & courage to step into hobby 3D-printing 1:12 scifi figures , & I LUV YOU for it! frankly you’re awesome. i’m gonna go disappear down your rabbit hole of suplementary & complementary videos now. see you in those comment. cheers.
This video was so encouraging! I really want to learn, but was feeling very intimidated. You accomplished exactly what you set out to do: this video felt like chatting with a friend. thank you for the help!
Dude your Black Friday video got me back into printing last year and since I’ve gotten my P1S I’ve done hundreds of hours and fixed so many things around the house (and printed TONS of anime stuff lol) thanks for all the great info always!
Just ordered a P1P to dive in to printing. So will definitely start watching the linked videos for more in depth information. Every little bit is going to help. Thanks!
I've been watching your videos a lot since I've been working on getting a helmet printed! You've been super helpful. I finally got all the pieces done, and now on to getting it put together!
Recently visited my daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandchildren who showed me their new Bambu printer. Seems interesting so I found your video today. Wow. Great job and also, I want to tell you that your video (another one of my hobbies along with photography) was truly professional. Thanks ! I'm really impressed.
Great work. Just had 3 friends in the last 2 weeks ask me about getting into 3d printing. Crazy how the process you went through is almost in the exact same layout i did with them. Also told them they should subscribe to your channel as chances are if they watch they may pick up on something they need If they cannot reach out to me. In any case, keep up the good work sir.
I bought a 3D printer this past December, and your videos have been very helpful! Glad I found your channel! If it wasn't for you I would have given up printing. Still learning!
My guy, I just found your channel from comments in a FB reel of that lightning interview you had at a con of some sort. Your work is amazing, and I look forward to learning a lot!
Thanks for all your videos. Had my printer a week and I’m about to take of a helmet I’m making my son for Halloween. You were the main influence in this journey.
Printers are getting great today... But truth be told... I'm rather glad I had to fight through trying to get my ender 3v2 and 3v3 printers optimized. While 3d printing was a love/hate thing for me, learning about how the printers work (trial by fire) was very valuable. Today... 3d printers like the A1 (which I purchased and never looked at my enders again) are much easier to use, but they do everything for you. Less effort... More printing!
You are the main reason I got into 3d printing!!! I was given an ender for my birthday because I was going on and on about it (thinking of switching to bambu p1s) but seeing all you have created and watching all your tutorials made me ready for what came before I even started!!! Keep it up, your making a LOT of people wanna do this 👍👍👍👍
Video got recommended to me at a perfect time I just started 3d printing for the first time ever after buying creality ender 3 v2 Been a fan of you for a bit!
Hi Frank I hope you are doing well mentally and physically, I absolutely loved this video especially because you got me into the 3d printing hobby. I was going to order a Creality K1 Max. Keep up the amazing work and I hope you have a great rest of your day
I would suggest using just dish soap, warm water and a stiff bristle brush to clean a build plate. I was having issues with adhesion using IPA and paper towels but using just some dawn and water solved that. Then i try not to touch the plate at all.
I saw your shorts a few times and taught, yeah 3d printing is cool and stuff. But I'am not a genius for this. But this Weekend I saw this articulated Iron Man at Disneyland Paris. And now I'am here. Thanks for your videos this first time I saw one of your videos it was awesome. I have been wanting to get into the printing hobby for awhile now your videos are just when I needed. Thank you I will watch your other videos my again thank you and have a blessed weekend.
This is a very good tutorial for beginner 3D printing. I'm not interested in starting this hobby but I had gotten a couple of 3D printed dragons for my "Christmas babies" and was curious about the process. Thanks I will be checking out your recommended vides. Merry Xmas from Southern Oregon
really needed this everyone else seems to use all these terms and what not but you made it very simple and not overwhelming +1 sub from me def gonna need this chan for my starting 3d adventures
Hi! If I may, could you divide this video in sections with titles so people can skip the part they don't need? Thanks a bunch! I was able to get what I needed, but like you, I'm thinking of others, new at 3D printing. You're the best!
Thank you for this video and recommendations!!! I have been wanting to get n2 3d printing for things like articulated dragons n such. This video holds many useful topics and recommendations!!! Keep your videos & cre8tions coming!! Til next tyme...keep those cre8ive juices abrewing!!!
Well I have been considering the purchase of a 3D printer for some time now and decided it is time to take the plunge. I came across your video and, well, excellent. I have a better understanding of what to look for, where to go and what to download. I will of course now watch the other videos on your channel, oh and have now subscribed.
I recently bought a 3D printer (4 weeks ago) to because i wanted a hobby and because i wanted to make cool shit and i did so without really watching anything or research anything and by god that was a huuuuge mistake i spent 3-4 days learning from trial and error watching about 40 videos and finally i had done it! I had printed a small statue that had some nice features, then i saw tons of your videos and other peoples and i really wanted to make a boba fett helmet (cause he was one of my facourite characters in star wars since i was 7 years old) so i spent another 7 days failing and failing and finally i had it my very first helmet done right in front of me and i have never in my life felt more happy with anything i have made sure its not 100% perfect room for improvement but by god is it worth it. I just want to thank you and other youtubers that make these videos and share your knowlege.
As always sir, your videos inspire and inform. I cant wait to start my 3D printing journey and with your guidance, I know I will be successful. My first printer will actually be one of your recommendations, the Neptune 3 Max. See you at the printer.
I'm literally working on a custom design for a pickleball paddle rack system for our local court using Tinkercad and getting ready to print it on my P1S. You're videos are amazing and always super helpful, thank you!
One big tip for people starting out is watch your print speed. Especally on bed slingers. My first printer was one where the bed just moved up and down. My 2nd is a bed slinger and I don't want to admit how many failed prints and research I had to do to find out it was the print speed. (It was a lot and I found the answer in a video on this channel funny enough.). Print speed is mostly just for prints that are tall and skinny. Like the 8 helmet pieces I had to print for my Game of thrones kings guard armor. (Still a work in progress.). A good indicator that it might be a print speed problem is if it came off of the plate while printing. That could also be a dirty bed. So I would clean the bed first and then either also lower speed a little or see if cleaning it helped first and then adjust print speed.
I really wish I'd known this stuff before I started. I started with a new ender 3 pro off of Amazon. Some of the most pain I've gone through, replacing so many things, upgrading and such that could be posted into a subreddit about "When is an ender 3 nolonger an ender 3?", but I've learned so much from the torture that I've had other people starting the hobby and I'm only two and a half years in. 😅
I printed a benchy first thing. I got a P1S with the AMS. I highly recommend it as well. My nephew absolutely loves it. I'm a huge fan of the auto ID feature of the AMS when using bambu filament. I upgraded to hardened steel components for future filament.
Thank you for this video I really needed to see something like this I’ve been having issues with trying to figure out what to do with my new printer love the content man you’re awesome ❤️❤️
Good video. Started out with the creality ender 3v2 about two years ago. Had to put it together and always adjusting the settings to get good prints. Just upgraded to the creality k1c. Now you basically take it out of the box and start printing. The difference in printing speed is amazing. After using a printer that was basically 1st generation and going up to what I have now, what will the future of 3d printing be..
Thanks for sharing this video. I have a Sermoon V1 but haven’t used in months so I’m watching to refresh my memory, get the cob webs 🕸️🕸️🕸️ out of my mind.
I really wish I got into 3D printing now instead of a few years ago, I've had an ender 3 that I've had for about 3 years now and thankfully have only had one issue after all this time. That Bambu P1S looks so tempting and I think I'm going to have to save up since I have a lot of helmets I want to print that I don't have to break into multiple pieces that take forever. Thank you for the video, been a fan for about 2 years now.
Can you do a video on air filtration? I have been wanting a printer now for a while but live in an apartment. Most videos say it is toxic and I've seen some saying it isn't as bad as people say. Can room air purifiers do the job well enough for an apartment or is it not safe?
We love your videos! Last month my 13yr old son showed me your Red Hood video and now we are hooked! Thank you for showing us a new Father-Son hobby/project we can share together! Going into this for cosplay, just purchased the Elegoo Neptune Max 3 (skipped on the 4 max due to so many reviews/issues), and so excited to start this fun process. Seriously, you rock!!
I’m new to 3d and purchased a Qidi plus4 as my first printer. I plan on printing everything from small figures to helmets. I noticed you never mention Qidi. What do you think about Qidi in general? I feel using the Qidi slicer is easy to navigate. Is Orca similar. Should I switch to Orca? What is the pro/cons of both slicers?
Nice video, good information for this newbie. Question on filament. I need to print some Home Gym bushings that go into the weight plates to guide them up and down the rods. They need to be a little bit flexible so they can snap into the holes in the plates. Does PLA have any flexibility to snap into these without snapping themselves? If not, what type of filament would you recommend for this?
think you could explain potentially what would happen if you tried to use a filament that a printer wasn't compatible with ? example K1Max using FPLA+ thinking about trying it anyway but don't want a catastrophe
saw a short about oiling the ed printer for maintenance. would love an update to your old video about maintenance for modern 3d printers like the k1s and bambu labs
I’m thinking about getting into 3D Printing as a side hustle. I have a product in mind, I’m nervous that i won’t be able to figure out how to operate it and get plans loaded and printed. I don’t have a computer but i have an iPad
Thanks for making this. I just got my elegoo Neptune 4. I got it to print a judge dredd helmet. Do I size it in the slicer program? Sorry if this is a noob question I'm very new to this.
I would say compare your failure's to other peoples failure's! I learned what they did wrong and made sure not to do that, as well as others point out what I did wrong
Watching this video made me realize that it’s amazing how far 3d printing has come even in the last 2 years
Yeah I was surprised too. I remember like 9 years ago friends of mine complaining of how difficult it was so it always put me off. But now I'm finally interested again
Same here. I was looking at it a couple years ago. Very interesting.
Just got my first printer, elegoo whatever four, printed a benchy, could not be more happy with my first 3-D print. Thank you for the videos. Have a good day.
As someone who already knows the basics of 3d printing, I can confirm this is a certified classic.

To be honest, I thought 3D printing was a lot more complicated than that, but thanks to the video it seems a lot easier to do
Love your videos! Keep on keeping on!
Which you recommend for larger pieces like dresser drawers
I'm looking to get started in 3d uv resin printers. Just wondering if you have played with them and have any recommendations or videos on them?
Nice video, good information for this newbie. Question on filament. I need to print some Home Gym bushings that go into the weight plates to guide them up and down the rods. They need to be a little bit flexible so they can snap into the holes in the plates. Does PLA have any flexibility to snap into these without snapping themselves? If not, what type of filament would you recommend for this?
think you could explain potentially what would happen if you tried to use a filament that a printer wasn't compatible with ?
example K1Max using FPLA+
thinking about trying it anyway but don't want a catastrophe
saw a short about oiling the ed printer for maintenance. would love an update to your old video about maintenance for modern 3d printers like the k1s and bambu labs
Do you need any special ventilation or air filter when using 3d printers
I’m thinking about getting into 3D Printing as a side hustle. I have a product in mind, I’m nervous that i won’t be able to figure out how to operate it and get plans loaded and printed. I don’t have a computer but i have an iPad
Thanks for making this. I just got my elegoo Neptune 4. I got it to print a judge dredd helmet. Do I size it in the slicer program? Sorry if this is a noob question I'm very new to this.
Yep
You can scale it in the slicer. That's what I did in cura for my Halo ODST helmet
I would say compare your failure's to other peoples failure's! I learned what they did wrong and made sure not to do that, as well as others point out what I did wrong
Another great video! Keep up the great work!💯%👍
This was a GREAT video! Very well done & helpful for me deciding. What site or where did you get the models for the wolverine & deadpool mask at?
