    Got my A1 combo a couple weeks ago. Love it! Total game changer. Started with a Neptune 3 Pro about a year ago. I learned a lot with that machine. Learned slicing, learned maintenance, learned A LOT of tuning. I put a lot of effort into tuning that machine to get quality results. I didnt mind and wanted to learn. Now i just want to print, and the A1 does that.....perfect...every time! No more messing with Z offset, leveling issues etc. The phone app integration is so handy as well as having the camera. It truly is a game changer for me and its been running non stop since i got it. If you want to LEARN 3d printing, get a Creality, Elegoo, etc. If you just want to PRINT, Bambu 100%

    Recently, I acquired an A1 and designed a substantial number of models in Fusion. Subsequently, I printed all the models on the A1 using an old spool of generic PETG filament that had been exposed to high environmental humidity. While encountering endless issues with my old Creality 3 V3, the A1 exhibited exceptional performance by producing all the models with remarkable precision. As a result of this experience, I have decided against purchasing another Creality printer, even if it is offered at a lower cost. Bambu Lab deserve the recognition, it really just works!

    I have both, maintenance and working on the printer the A1 is far easier than the p1p. If abs and pc are needed then the p1s is a no brainer choice. I got the P1S. When I was looking at printers in July when Bambu was having their anniversary sale, I watched a number of videos about the differences between bed slingers and core xy printers and due to where I was planning on having the printer I chose to go with an enclosed version. There were a few reasons for getting the P1S over the P1P:
    1. Breezes/Drafts: I have an evaporative cooler instead of an AC and the office, where the printer is located has a window that is usually cracked to help alleviate air pressure and the printer is in the flow of the air coming into the office and going towards the window, so I didn't want to have to deal with issues when there's potential drafts when the evaporative cooler is running during the summer months.
    2. Humidity: Also because of the evaporative cooler, I didn't want to have to worry about humidity being an issue with printing during the summer months.
    3. Exotic Materials: I also wanted the ability to potentially try out some of the more exotic materials that require printing in an enclosed printer without having to buying another printer or making an enclosure for it.
    I also liked the idea of the AMS over the AMS Lite, so that was another item that drove me over the P series instead of one of the A series printers.
    Would be interesting to see how the P1P and P1S are compared side by side in print tests to show the differences between being enclosed versus open.
    Great video, been loving them since I came across your channel almost 2 months ago.

  • @3DandTeePrinting

    Hard to explain without using them but the P1 series is more Industrial Feeling like a well built machine that has to get work done. The A1 feels fun and entertaining to print with. Kind of a Grown Up Printer vs Tweener Printer kind of feel. Both are great. After 4000 hour combined on our 2 P1P's (now converted to P1S's) and A1, I can say It's all about preference between these machines. If you compare the A1 to P1S it's not a fair battle but the P1P that's a different story.

    Another great video. Speed is never an issue for me so I slow down my printing for better print quality with less artifacts. I have an A1 mini and a Flashforge AD5M core xy printer (with printed enclosure) I really like them both. Both print fantastic, both are great value. I will say that with the faster core xy (without making any adjustments) will shake the crap out whatever it is on when doing infill and the A1 mini doesn’t really do that. Slowing both of these down (outer wall speed, infill speeds and travel speeds) to about the same it would be hard for me to choose which one I like better. If I had to choose I would pick the A1 mini, only because the AMS. I know it’s wasteful, but sometimes you just want that multicolored option (my core xy does not have a AMS option). One thing I like that you showed is that even printing with a Bambu, not everything comes out perfect. I couldn’t agree more though that Bambu makes fantastic printers and you can’t really go wrong choosing one.

    Just found your channel and one of your videos introduced me to the Qidi Tech X-Plus 3 printer. I had both but preferred the P1P since it was better for slow motion video when using an external camera, however i don’t have an AMS for the P1P and it is more cost effective just to get the A1 combo given my use case. I do feel the P1P and P1S have their place especially when you are printing taller objects.

    Great comparison, very interesting. It would be great to see a comparison between the A1 and the A1 Mini, as although they are almost identical, the bed inertia of the A1 Mini makes it more suitable for layers below 0.08, just like the Z-axis guide rail and the type of linear on the Y-axis. In my tests, the Mini has given me better results with 0.06 layers, although I didn’t maintain a consistent methodology since I didn’t start with the same spool at the same time and temperature, with the same humidity and ambient temperature. Makes no sense in any way as the P1P is literally the same than P1S without enclosing and minimal other features. It all depends on what you are printing. I have around 30 BBL Printers in my farm and 12 are X1C, rest is a mix of P1P, P1S and A1 Mini. I skipped the A1 cause for me there is no benefit over a P1P besides the pricetag. And for really cheap prints i use the A1 Mini which comes at 199 . For example I print Carbon Fiber Material and PC etc on my X1C´s, P1S I use for non Fiber Materials and with special buildplates for PolyPropylene. P1P mostly prints TPU, PLA and PETG where you want to have a good cooling and you avoiding an enclosed chamber. A1 Mini print cheap stuff where the printbed is more that sufficient. I will upgrade them all for automated printing once Jobbox is releasing the A1 Mini kit.

      It’s not about what makes sense to you or I. There are people that are choosing printers and are struggling to figure out which one is the right one for them.
      Some are having trouble deciding between a machine that prints basic filaments and a machine that is enclosed and prints more exotic filaments. For some it will be the difference in AMSs. Whatever the reason, that’s okay, we’ll be positive and help them out.

      I have recently entered the world of 3d printing, I have several projects and I am in a big dilemma. Now I have A1 and I have to buy another printer. I'm undecided whether to take all A1 or P1P, I only print in PLA and that's it, I'll have to make statues and figurines. From what I've read, the Core XY ones are more accurate in height? is it true or A1 gives the same result as P1P? Did you find P1P it's a much better quality print/same quality ? For me, print time doesn't matter Thank You

    I wonder if people realize just how quiet the A1 is... Even enclosed, the P1S/P1P is so much louder than the A1 which is basically like ambient noise. I could fall asleep in the same room as the A1 while I can easily hear the P1S sitting in the next room over.

  • @Spinall01

    Hi, I have a P1s and two A1s, all with AMS. And I come to the same conclusion, the P1s is faster printing but the filament changes are much faster on the A1. The P1S is much noisier. As for the screens, although the A1 is better, I rarely use them, all because of Bambu Studio. Both are great printers, although about the cameras, I'd rather not comment on them haha.

    After upgrading to a P1S Combo from an Ender 3 Neo, I find that the P1 is consistently limited by material. That's in contrast to the Ender, which was limited by hardware. What I mean by this, is on my Ender, i would often find myself upping the layer heights to get the print to finish faster. This is because it could only print 120mm/s max, so any filament with a VFR >10 was being limited by the printer itself. But the P1 is the opposite. It can print practically any filament i can throw at it, with exceptional reliability and quality, at that filament's max VFR.
    Yes, I understand that i could have purchased upgrades for the Ender i.e upgraded hotend, better cooling, direct drive, bigger nozzle etc, but by the time i buy all of that and tinker around and fine tune it all, the P1 does it all for almost the same price and then some! I still have my Ender, keeping it as ole' reliable, maybe even try out ender NG. Being able to play with the big guns (exotic filaments, multicolor, automation, Maker World, etc) is so much fun and definitely worth the price.

    I bought 3 Elegoo 4 max printers about 5 months ago and have had nothing but issues with them total nightmare. I decided to buy 2 p1s combos they arrived yesterday super easy to set up and connect to my phone and pc. I've printed a bunch of things on them 0 issues so far but still early days I've had them running less than 24 hours but so far my 4m Elegoo printers look like a joke in comparison. my thoughts so far are they may be a bit more expensive but Bambu lab printers just work and if your a complete novice like me they are perfect.

    Both are good but the P1P is in a weird position right now as it when it came out, the A1 probably wasn't even planned. Now as it stands the A1 is obviously the better pick for the money and for the better technology as it has the pressure advance and the flow calibration built into the print head as well as easier nozzle changes and simpler maintenance if a clog happens. As someone who runs a print farm you'll encounter issues with the A1 around the 850h mark, then it's better to recalibrate the printer or you'll slowly see print quality degrade(at least that was the case for me). I've seen other's run P1Ps with more success but as I also have X1Cs with similar issues makes me wonder should I consider the other competition if I can't figure out the reliability fall off before I bulk order more printers.

    • @LoyalMoses
      @LoyalMoses  22 дня назад

      We recalibrate whenever we move it between studios for filming. I spoke with Bambu about the P1P before they sent it over (sent it specifically for comparison content), and they told me it remains VERY popular for print farm operations. It’s such a good, clean, powerful machine.

    Why going to put effort in a head to head comparison between the P1P VS P1S?
    Both are already heading to become dated printers with the A1 already on the shelves and the X1C/P1S followup just around the corner.
    Both have equal hardware and the only difference is that 1 is enclosed and the other is not.
    The P1S already seems to be on a permanent sale which already makes the price difference between P1P and P1S a no-brainer. There's just a €100 diference between them.
    Upgrading a P1P with the P1S kit will you even cost €200. That's double the difference of getting the P1S right away.

    • @LoyalMoses
      @LoyalMoses  22 дня назад +3

      Very simple. I know which one i’d buy, but there are people that can’t decide which one they might want. Remember, not every video is for you.
      It’s also about the content and the story I choose to tell. Maybe someone wants to have a customized enclosure and the P1P is the one that provides that for them.
      Rather than be anti-content, choose to be supportive of more content for those who need or want it. It’s better for our awesome industry and hobby.👍

    I got a P1S for the enclosure but if it weren't for that, id have got an A1 hands down. Changing the nozzle is a bit delicate on the P1 as you have to unplug fragile connectors. The AMS also seems way over-engineered compared to the AMS lite.

    • @EngineerWilky81
      @EngineerWilky81 22 дня назад

      I agree that the changing of nozzles is much simpler and less prone to breaking things with the A series printers over the P series and X series. It's a bummer that you have to change out the entire hotend to use different nozzle sizes. There are 3rd party hotends out there that make changing simpler and quicker by only having the change the nozzle and not the entire hotend. I pre-ordered the new Mako Hotend that Slice Engineering is making for the Bambu printers as I like the idea of being able to change out the nozzle for the different sizes and not have to change the entire hotend.
      The AMS may seem a little overengineered, but I like how it's essentially a dry box so you can have the 4 spools ready for printing at anytime especially if you're worried about any humidity issues. The AMS Lite does have the benefit of working better with non-bambu filament spools as compared to the AMS, I liked the thought of being able to potentially have up to 4 AMS units for a single printer mainly for the purpose of having several spools ready to be used at anytime more than being able to do multi-color prints.
