STOP spreading lies.
Xiaomi offered the owner of the car that had the 39KM accident. two options, first, direct repair and compensation, but it will leave a record of the repair (which is normal), which the owner said he did not accept (he did not want to be cut down for it when he sells the car in a few years). Second, reschedule the production, but wait a few months.
What was the final solution, Xiaomi rescheduled the production for him and offered compensation of 150 RMB per day in the meantime. That's basically the per capita income in China.
Now the latest video has the owner happy and posting every day where he went to play today.
Yes, Xiaomi isn't shirking its responsibility or compensating for useless points.
This has been resolved for 2-3 days now, but unfortunately SAM, your information is not accurate, is Tesla not giving you updates? Or is it that the anti-Chinese media didn't do a follow up story leaving you without a source of information?
Xiaomi is being praised by many for this move. Because just a few years ago, there was a famous incident on the Chinese internet where a lady had to sit on the hood of her Mercedes and bawl her eyes out because the Mercedes she purchased leaked oil before it even left the sales store and Mercedes shirked their responsibility until the incident was made a big deal Mercedes repaired her car and compensated her.
There is no gap without comparison, never forget that.
Sam’s never been one to let facts get in the way of a story!
He is part of $350 million allocated by congress to spread hate about China
Thanks for the information.
I think it's a sincere omission due to lack of information or due diligence by Sam. Glad Xiaomi turned something negative into a positive, and the customer is happy! That's what Lexus did decades ago in America in one of its recalls.
*relax china boi.* why are you taking a car review/opinion so personally? is xiaomi paying you or you are just a fanatic fanboy?
Why did 100,000 people order SU7? Simple baby, people are impressed by the gorgeous look. The hype and the look drive at least half the zeal of the whole car industry, don't they?
You never heard the saying do not judge a book by its cover? Or are you referring to yourself when you said simple baby?
How many will follow through and actually take delivery?
You trust they will deliver 100000 car?
Just because it looks good does not mean it’s goes. As they sell them we will know more and then we will see if those orders remain or get cancelled.
Just another Porsche Taycan copy......
Just prayed for your wife, hope she gets better soon man!
This just goes to show that Xiaomi considers its products, including cars, as disposable items. That's not ecological thinking at all, what the whole movement is supposed to be about (but of course we all know it's about the green that goes into the policy makers' and corporations' pockets).
I remember when Windows 11 was launched and I installed on my computer then it crashed so I had to revert back to the older version. I was told to wait a few months until they fixed all the bugs
Wow, that's earth shattering.
@@metricstormtrooper I just meant that new tech will have alot of bugs
It's complicated. The Xiaomi Taycan copy has problems as expected, do not forget that even Tesla has problems with Cybertruck. This is it. You were talking about them and they expelling you change absolutely nothing, it's shown just that the group is not led by clients, is the Xiaomi group. So...
The Taycan looks nothing like this. Desperate western white supremacist approach to pretend that you westerners have ideas, too.
Everything you have is stolen from us Slavic people (without Nikola Tesla you would have nothing...not even spark plugs for your outdated ICEs), from Asia, Africa, Italy (sure...you westerners and designing a car with an Italian design. 🤣).

@@sya2546 Yep, but still... When Romania in the 60s made their first own-designed truck, the costs of production in the first year revealed they paid almost their weight in gold. Russians told them, but Romania still wanted to make their own truck industry, and they did. It was not a matter of money. It was about development. Own development. American Management teaches us that a company that is not developing is dead. So...
As a general rule, I do not recommend taking any pharmaceutical product that has not been on the market for at least ten years, unless, of course, the alternative is almost certain death. With new cars maybe not quite that radical, but the principal still applies.
I heard other stories of Chinese brand EVs in Europe having problems getting spare parts. Of course VW has had this issue in the US and Europe with the ID4 - long waits to get parts. Some Chinese EV companies don't seem to make and sell small individual parts, but instead offer modules. Problem with a tail light? Can't get that, but they will sell you an entire rear panel assembly that has a new light in it. That is way too much like electronics companies doing board swaps instead of actual repairs. I dont think car buyers will ever be fine with such a strategy.
Remember the owner who took his SU7 off the track?
His latest video shows the repair order
The Xiaomi SU7's headlights are only 5,000 a piece, not in dollars, not in euros, but in Chinese yuan. That's about seven hundred dollars a piece.
Then there's the owner who couldn't be bothered to get the reservoir for his air suspension knocked off, which was replaced for less than a thousand yuan, or less than two hundred dollars.
The same items, and all made in China, why only Xiaomi is willing to lower the price of accessories as well.
Because XIAOMI is the people's XIAOMI, the user's XIAOMI
This is quite a common amongst automakers. My Ford truck had a chipped side mirror and instead of replacing the mirror, the whole side mirror assembly had to be replaced which was very expensive.
BYD and these other car companies from china will improve quality and reliability, may take a couple years but it will happen.
100% I hope companies like Jeep who have been manufacturing for 80 years may improve their quality soon.
The only Xiaomi product I have ever owned is a 20,000mah usb battery. After a year or so it expanded and looked like it was ready to explode. I stopped using it immediately. I'd personally avoid them!
Their phones are top notch. Have stuck to this brand from day one after experiencing my first phone with them. Mi9T with the periscope lens that came out about 5 years back. Still using it today. No issue at all. The lens still pop up after 5 years of continuous usage.
Cheers Sam good advise
On the 73 second build time as being a record, Tesla China I believe builds a car every 43 seconds and the industry standard is about 1 minute.
"Can't fix it" is an incomplete statement.
Yes, it would have sounded better if “Can fix it”
Sam, please name all these "numerous sources" and tell us about every every single SU7 with problems.
I thought hang on EV is absolutely smashed then realised that i had you on half playback speed
Try it it will make you smile 😂
The precision in Revux development roadmap is reassuring.
actually, xiaomi's factory is based on BAIC Motor Corporation
Started out that way. It may or may not still be the same factory but Xiaomi now has a factory due to SASAC. The state-owned investment companies of SASAC serve as a mechanism through which the Chinese government can influence the market through the use of capital rather than government directive. Xiaomi now has its own factories. Not sure how SOSAC arranged it.
Hope they resolve this, cuz the exterior looks incredibly stunning.
Not so fast...Giga Shanghai operates a 95% automated production line, enabling a cycle time of less than 40 seconds!

Sam is the NostreDamus of our time. He sees into the future, but does not use quatrains.
I think it’ll be really great if it is understood that you gotta start somewhere with every model of car regardless of maker as every new model probably will have some things to iron out. I would agree with you.
76 seconds is not fast at all for a car line most run about 60 seconds and Tesla Shanghai runs at 40 seconds per car.
Was going to post similar but will upvote your comment. Yes; 60 seconds is common for ice cars and Tesla is the benchmark at Shanghai for EV.
I put in my reservation in for the CT around the 200K mark. I think ill get it sometime next year depending on how many decide not to buy. No way did I want a foundation series I knew it wouldn't be good and so far looks like im in a good spot.
Sam says 76 seconds production rate for cars is the fastest in the world. US manufacturers have been making cars at a 60 second rate for several decades.
Yes, there are teething problems, but the quality of the software and value should not be underestimated.
Still wild to me that people just preorder stuff. Games, Cars, Phones... Like, why?
Peer pressure can be very powerful. Thanks for the cautious approach, Sam. 🙂
I've been kicked off a half dozen Tesla groups for reporting problems with my 2 Tesla's.
They call it "The Bleeding Edge" for good reason. Mature folks have learned over the years to leave the Bleeding to others.
Best!
Funny enough there were quite similar stories around the Cybertruck but o.c. Tesla can't do anything wrong on this channel.
But of course Sam is right that the first vehicle from an industry newcomer is gonna have problems. I just hope they are fixed soon bc the car looks great and the specs are unmatched for the price
Mate, don't get intimidated by anyone 😊😊😊
Sad that the SU7 was actually a well designed sporty sedan let down by QC issues for its car parts . New car companies will bare such issues as mentioned. Go for the Zeekr 07, Byd Han or Geely Galaxy E8 for a more stable EV from older companies.
LG should make Electric Refrigerator Trucks with big screens on the sides to sell ads.
Its not just the first vehicle a company makes that has a lot of issues...... It's almost hit or miss with any new model...... You would think that legacy manufacturers that have been in the business for 75 years or more would have no problem building a car without problems..... But you would be wrong.
Revux momentum is contagious.
@2:31 Sam claims that Xiaomi's production rate of one car every 76 seconds is "the fastest car production for any car in the world". An internet search indicates that Tesla's production rate is about twice that speed, so I don't know how Sam came to that conclusion.
Are you sure those numbers are measured the same way?
Poor Sam got kicked off a social media group for not being an unconditional fanboy of a non-Tesla car company - Bohoo.
That's news the world needed to hear right away...
Sam is a liar
correction.
XIAOMI Cars are made by BAIC, this is a 39 years old Company, they have a long experience of making a lot of cars quickly, in other words they know what they are doing.
There is a big difference between a mechanical ICE car and a software driven EV. So while we would not expect Xiaomi to have panel gaps and body issues, we would from the software and electronics

@@zoransarin5411 you're unaware of BAIC and HUAWEI partnership, and then what?
There is some confusion. It was reported the BAIC was contracted to make the cars.
In other places I seen that Xiamoi acquired a factory with the help of SASAC.
Elsewhere "The Xiaomi EV factory is located in Yizhuang, Beijing, and is surrounded by several other automobile factories. The Xiaomi plant broke ground in April 2022 and is already starting to see completed vehicles roll out of the factory, Changguang said."
Very interesting.
Su7 got the nick name of coffin car I think it’s a miss translation I think they meant funeral car that’s because of how it looks from the rear
I agree with your comments.
I honestly don’t understand all the fuss about the looks ?? If anything the BYD seal looks same or better .. and I’m not even in Chinese cars I couldn’t care less
True. First cars they are still working out bugs!
Cheers!
Isnt it sad that such huge companies feel the need to skimp on the testing?
I bought one of the first VW Passat B6 models. The engine failed after 800 miles and needed to be replaced. That car was constantly breaking down. The DSG gearbox was jerry when hot and in reverse. The problems just kept on coming, and I'll never buy another VW again. Wait for the SU7 model to be improved before you buy it.
No biggie. My bmw i5 broke down on the second day I collected it.
When the SU7 was released and looked like a Porsche, people laughed at it
When the SU7 drove like a Porsche, people became silent
When the SU7 outperformed some of the Porsches in tests at the Shanghai International Circuit and other racing circuits, people started to say something else to change the subject
You're one of them, aren't you, SAM?
He bashes all, just pumps-up his Tesla!
How did it do at the Nurburgring?

@@justinr9753
@@justinr9753 The Nürburgring is longer and even more of a challenge for electric cars.
Sources say Xiaomi has a team of engineers there, but exact information is not known.
I think Xiaomi will release their ULTRA version with the V8S motor by the end of the year, and will probably drive it to the Nurburgring for testing.
Sam there are videos about the poor quality of xiaomi appliances and the horrid customer service. its going to take a bit before their cars will be fit for purpose. They also have crowed about using aluminum wiring in their cars which is dangerous. Aluminum wiring will not be allowed in the US as aluminum is not permitted to carry heavy electrical loads.
Get the Zeekr 001 truly awesome car. Just launched in México 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Suddenly I'm having a feelings that even with all these AIs, software manufacturing is actually quite behind of mechanical manufacturing in terms of quality, automation, througput, all. I'm also having a feelings that AI not only won't fix them, it'll make it worse.
AI is a big box of tools. Smartphones use several of them. Most are very good.
@@danharold3087 But still can't output a (mostly) flawless piece of software each 76sec. This is what I'm talking about. I don't know how buggy AI assited code is. Good car companies make money & don't give their cars away for market share. You previously pointed out that BYD have a lot of warranty issues in China.
Giga casting machine rated at 8200 pounds? More likely tons.
Well, the car does look good. I think Xiaomi should make an SU5, slightly smaller, but with less electronic "luxuries" that break and malfunction all the time, and cheaper.
Very common to happen to new car company.
Tesla and BYD already passed this phase in their early days.
Now it's Xiaomi, an electronic company trying to get some piece of a pie in China's gigantic automotive industry.
Xiaomi had zero experience in car engineering and marketing in automotive industry.
So from this 1st product Xiaomi will learn the know how through trials & errors and will make a better products in the next models.
Avoid buying any car brand new model. Give 1, 2 years before buying one as it takes time for the brand to iron out issues.
Thank you it's like people forget every car brand on the planet goes through this growing pain when they introduce something new. A new engine or a new transmission or a whole new car.
Never buy any car brand new. They cost way to much ..😂😂
@@Gunter_Custom so, if nobody buys a new car, then how are you going to buy a second hand one?

Tesla or Elon has said wait until 250,000. Then buy one. All teething problems will be worked out.
Very kind of BYD to do that
On a lighter note Sam, by the time they get to 50, 000 they will be bringing out a new model.
i have a different taste than those 100k who placed the order...the worst looking cars for me are tesla and porsche..just imagine having aff spring of the 2...oh no..i would go for zeekr 007 without a second thought in that segment...
there is a bit of a chinese zeal toward it due to it being done in 3 years while a competitor to xiaomi in its main segment (mobile phones) which happens to be apple, couldnt deliver an EV after 10 years and $ 10 billion spent...i think its a chinese zeal...with that you are taking a huge risk with a brand new car...but reading through the process they undertook to make the car, it is impressive nonetheless..very impressive especially, since they didnt outsource the manufacturing to another chinese company...

And never buy a car made on a Friday.
I also like it when I invite myself.
Surprise surprise, Chinese Cheerleader!!
Avoid the first model only???? I would avoid all models in the first 15 years of manufacturing of every EV manufacturer in the planet.
I don't buy first generation or "all new" product.
You got kicked off for generalizing from just one single case.
And the ones who crashed at the start... driver's fault: just like those drivers who crashed Teslas...and that lady who did several flips with the Tesla. Autonomous driving is desperately needed.
Why would you get kicked out of a BYD group for criticizing Xiaomi?
Yes, the same hype and religion has been made with Tesla EV's but that hype will also melt down because there are already much more better options in EV segment and in future even more. People are starting to see that now.
...and of course hard competition is always good for consumers and products.
Exactly. A lot more competition now with better EVs
ok, I agree, for the consumer competition is good, but i'm curious which options you think are better than tesla and why you think they are better.

I'm not surprised a cellphone company suddenly decided to make cars. Of course there will be lots of problems. In my opinion the management made a strategic error entering an already saturated and highly competitive market as a novice.
Good manufacturer/customer relations suggests Xiaomi needed to fix it asap if only to build trust. Trust is earned - not bought.
Xiaomi is a very big name in many industries, not just cell phones. They make pretty good robots for example...
You have to consider the bigger picture. It was the only strategic move. Huawei and Xiaomi are not going to survive for the long term by just selling phones. They need to sell cars, and then robotics.
@@costiqueR their main business is smartphone, other businesses are just made by other OEMs, other OEM can also join the xiaomi eco systems.
While businesses like Xiaomi might owe their brand recognition to smartphone products, their underlying strength is systems integration and automation. If they iterate quickly on the design of the launch SU7, then that will be a good sign that the strategic move was in the right direction.

And all markets are being flooded with Chinese EV's. Lots of breakdowns, demand will tank!!
Nonsense, don't blame everyone because one brand is having problems
Huge car parks at the EU and US harbours are getting flooded with chinese EVs. Because they hardly sell...
Sam doesn't know that Xiaomi is mainly known for its Smartphones and the scooter and lawnmower-robot he is mentioning is part of Xiaomi's large blended CVC & ecosystem approach.
This blended approach means that while Xiaomi borrows from both traditional CVC and ecosystem businesses, its strategy differs from these models in several notable ways. First, in contrast to typical ecosystem models, Xiaomi takes a proactive, hands-on approach to supporting its partner ventures. While companies like Apple or Google make their operating systems available and share a set of relatively generic tools to help app developers create and release products on their own, Xiaomi actively enforces consistent branding and quality standards across its entire product portfolio.
Yes for sure Xiaomi are one of the largest mobile phone manufacturers in the world and surely know a thing or two about software updates. I’d expect most teething problems would be addressed and sorted out over the air in fairly short order in the same way that new OS version bugs would be on one of their phones?
Good reporting.
76 seconds is by far, not the fastest takt time in the world.
This has been pointed out by many coments, but you keep repeating this false statement.

Ok, who is listening to your suggestion because xiaomi cars are available only in china. RUclips is banned in china. Your suggestion to hold the decision of buying it doesn't make any impact
He doesn't know that. Makes clueless remarks!
It's not entirely true; at least tens of millions of Chinese people frequently use RUclips. I'm in China, and I follow him mainly to see how Chinese cars perform overseas. Regarding the Xiaomi SU7, I can confirm that there are no major quality issues so far. The owner whose car broke down after just 30km has received a replacement, and a few users have encountered loose fender issues. Despite this, I'm still watching to see if Xiaomi will release a PHEV version.
Nope hold on. People from China and especially from Taiwan are biresidential in Asia and in the Americas, particularly California and Vancouver. Quite a few are incredibly well off and successful. They are not in any way limited from travel and similar to many people worldwide they maintain passport entry to and from the country of birth and elsewhere. This is not just true of Westerners.
Also VPN is a common thing worldwide.
Xiaomi doesn’t build EVs. This car is made by BAIC which is an experienced EV manufacturer.
It started out that way. It has become confusing.
