He had no choice.. the other trooper ran him off the road! It almost happens again in less than 30 seconds.. one is yelling on the radio that he's to his right but he keeps on coming over. Even the cops don't get out of each other's way!

@@ethanedwards7557 the suv cruiser had to either slam on their breaks because the suspect went around another vehicle and if the suv didn’t try to go around then he would have rear ended an innocent person in front of them. And if the suv swerved to the left they would have have hit the innocent person to their left. But at the time there was enough space on the right to swerve to but the other police cruiser was also going fast so they kinda closed the empty gap for the suv cruiser to swerve into, which caused them to cut off his own partner which also made him swerve and crash safely.
Note: I tried my best to explain it the best I could. I hope it makes sense if not then sorry.

when your doing 30 in a storm on a packed highway and all the sudden 5 cars come flying up on you from all different sides there isn't a lot most of them can do honestly. if you look closely at the one who wrecked he ran out of room when a truck was yielding to a cop on his left and he didn't see there was another one coming up on his right and he was forced off the road because of that. that truck did what he could in a split second intense moment like that so with that said I don't think it's fair to point fingers at the other drivers. I'm honestly floored they chased dude as long as they did cause one wrong move and bam people are dead. rape is a horrible crime but I'd rather let a rapist get away than fucking kill a innocent person. just about every condition was unfavorable for that chase to proceed and it's a maricle that nobody died but it could have gone that way very easily

Henry Dinh well look at it like this. It's rush hour and you have multiple police officers in pursuit to stop and individual. During this time.you only have at any given moment maybe 2-3 cars areas worth of space? It sounds like alot when you're reading this but does it seem like alot when you're going 50+ through traffic in the rain to avoid, swerve, predict, react anything that is thrown at you? I do have major respect for the officer purposely crashing his car so he didn't hit the civilian in the way. As for the officer who ran him off the road, he had almost no time to tell his colleague that he was turning to avoid rear-ending a semi. I say they did an exceptional job at keeping everybody safe and performing their actions. Anyone that says that the officers are horrible at driving, how about you do what they just did through rush hour. You don't have as much experience as you might think. But putting a straw through a coconut isn't easy. Same with information to dumb people.

The explorer should have taken lead anyway. It was better suited for the conditions with awd, traction control, stability control and better performance then the crown Vics. Nothing against any officer but the explorer was in the lead when the accident occurred and the vic closed in too fast and should have given more room to the explorer. Again it was a dynamic chase under not so ideal conditions so anything again happen...they don't fit in a box. Also trying to set up spikes on a highway on a day like that with the way the suspect was driving is a lot harder then it sounds.

Almost 11 years in Law Enforcement and this is one of the craziest pursuits I’ve seen! However, this is the perfect example why you turn the pursuit over to the helicopter. (Don’t know if this jurisdiction had one available)? Let the eyes in the sky follow and direct the pursuit. Then the cops can slow down, back off a safe distance, while the helicopter pursues from above and barks out location(s). At least, it substantially decreases the potential for injuries or even death. The cops will eventually arrest this douche bag, but without having to risk their lives or the lives of the public! So many officers and innocent motorists could’ve been killed during this crazy pursuit. I certainly don’t give a shit about the rapist and what happens to him. However, I do care about the safety of the officers and innocent motorists. Still, great job to all the officers involved in this pursuit! This is certainly one of the wildest pursuits I’ve seen.
