I just had this exact same problem appear on my 2013 Honda Pilot! I used a strong piece of plastic sheet used for cutting vegetables. (I've seen this stuff used for place mats too.) I trimmed it to a triangular-knife shape that fit between the safety lock & closed-door switch. It took about 10 tries, but I got it! Also, this didn't scratch the paint...if that matters to you. Thanks for the video!
Thanks very much. Your video helped open my toyota yaris 2009 door. Bodyshop quoted minimum 200$ and said it may go higher and also said door panel may get damaged. With the help of your video, i fixed it myself. Thanks. I'd also like to mention that in 2009 yaris, there is wedge before the child lock. You have to insert the blade above the wedge and slide it down, to reach the bottom of child lock lever. If you insert blade below the wedge, then there is no way to push the lever up. Also make sure that you blunt the blade before using it. Hope this helps others yaris 2009 users.
WOW, I'm going to assume this will work for both back doors. Daughter's friends messed with it now the right passenger door is stuck. Thanks for the post.
Thanks. Got it open in after about 15 minutes. Hacksaw blade kept getting stuck, but the suggestion of using a modified handle from a kitty litter bucket ultimately worked after about 10 tries.
Great video. Best I've seen for this issue. Simple and effective. ***Note: I didn't have a hack saw blade but got resourceful and cut off the flexible handle on a 35 lb bucket of cat litter. Was able to open the door in about 2 minutes using the same technique.
A dip stick is more flexible than a hack saw blade. I would open the other door and use it to push up the door lock lever to see if it will work on an open door. But, what ever you use will have to overcome the resistance of the door to door frame pinch against the tool. You may find this to be a problem if the tool is too flexible. There is a fair amount of force that has to be applied to slide the tool up along the frame due to the bend and pinch against the tool.
+QuickFixes I just tried this for the past hour, and i used w bunch of things and ended up pulling the door panel away and tried doing it that way but it seems the child lock itself is stuck down, any tips?
thank you finally i can open my door after 2 yrs lol

No no same, btw did you get it open yet if so what did you use
Will try tomorrow
both of my rear doors were locked and it took me a few try to understand how to do it but after the first door o did the second in a minute
It realy works,thx
Thank you for uploading this, I'm buying a 98' civic and it has this problem. Do you think I can use a spare dipstick for this?
A dip stick is more flexible than a hack saw blade. I would open the other door and use it to push up the door lock lever to see if it will work on an open door. But, what ever you use will have to overcome the resistance of the door to door frame pinch against the tool. You may find this to be a problem if the tool is too flexible. +QuickFixes Good to know, I'll pick one up to try. Thank you

Yea. Anyone watching. DON’T DO THIS. Correct idea but using a BLADE is a terrible idea. Use a Slim Jim or a flat piece of metal that isn’t sharp.
It doesn't work
Thank you!
will this method also work on a 98 Honda Accord?
Thank you sirrrrrr
I mean if you could just unskrew the bolt in the door handle and pull the main pulley it’ll open the door and then take child lock off wala
will butter knife work?
Not really
Is this gona work on Audi A5 2013 ?
What tool is used?
I used an old hacksaw blade.
@@quickfixes4652 is there any tool beside that I can use if I can't find a hacksaw blade in my garage?
Thanks buddy
Whats the thing called?
Need to have my doors an wimdows unloced
dude YOU ARE A LLLLEGEND!!!
