Thanks for video. At the location of this clip, a chunk of lint is grabbed off the lint screen when we pull it out to remove lint. Any idea why this happens?

Poor design. Most people who seek out this information do so because the clip gets stuck on the lint filter and jambs it it. The filter screen then has to be forcibly removed, and the screen will most likely tear, which is what happened to my girlfriend. If its sole purpose is to keep the filter from rattling, id say leave it out and see if the filter actually rattles.

Yea. Anyone watching. DON’T DO THIS. Correct idea but using a BLADE is a terrible idea. Use a Slim Jim or a flat piece of metal that isn’t sharp.

Thanks, my wife stuck some kind of looped brush down in the lint compartment to clean it. She hung it on the lint screen clip and instead of asking for help she pulls it out by force bending the clip out of shape and moving it out of place. I finally found a clip so I could use it as a pattern to reshape mine and then your video to put it in place. You saved me a repair bill.

I just had this exact same problem appear on my 2013 Honda Pilot! I used a strong piece of plastic sheet used for cutting vegetables. (I've seen this stuff used for place mats too.) I trimmed it to a triangular-knife shape that fit between the safety lock & closed-door switch. It took about 10 tries, but I got it! Also, this didn't scratch the paint...if that matters to you. Thanks for the video!
