I picked up a new '24 recently, what a fantastic car. I don't even care if it isn't as fast as the 330i, let alone the M340i, it's a made in Japan Lexus with an old school NA V6 and full-time AWD and a high quality interior. It has more than enough power as it is, and I know it'll drive just as good ten years from now.
I recently got one at 10% off from MSRP, the Mark Levinson is probably the best in the mid size sedan segment, the car is nice and comfortable. I do also have a GR86 when I want something more engaging.
Shopped one of these against a TL type S and a G70 3.3t. The Lexus was by far the least performance oriented but if it was my $60k (it wasn't), I'd have went with the Lexus for a variety of reasons.
I just want the v6 and lovely sound system. I think it’s the best sound system in any car under 100k. Prop to Lexus for making the car even more beautiful.
Thanks for another informative, engaging review. I agree with you on the excellent build and materials quality on last-generation Lexii. I have a '22 RX350L, and appreciate the interior's ergonomics and quality each time I drive. I'd like to see you review an ES, though it is front wheel drive. Live long and prosper.
If you're handy and can diy most of the maintenance, you can get a used 350 for 1/3 of the original price with 60-80k miles. Those vehicles are made to last a good 200-300k miles with proper maintenance.
I got a 350AWD with everything but the shade & mark levinson sound system(my moms had it and I know I’m missing out) [white interior with the atomic silver exterior] for $53k out the door with all of lexus’ wheel/paint/interior protection packages included. I love it, I was coming from a 2010 mustang v6 that decided to give up on life so the “dated” interior didn’t look dated to me 😂.
Same scenario as you. Everything but mark levinson sound and rear shade. Just get a darker tint and crank the bass up a bit. You have everything you could need, plus some! Congrats!
I’m totally with you regarding how nice the dashboard/instrument panel is. It looks very clean and of high quality. I am not with you when you say maybe it looks too much like a cock pit though. That’s not possible in my opinion, and let’s not give Lexus any ideas. There are enough generic looking interiors to pick from.
Still prefer the 3 series xdrive’s over this all day long. Glad Lexus is still staying in the review cycle but they really need to turn it around tech and specifically transmission wise to compete at the price.
I just ordered a 2024 IS350 F-Sport 3 AWD, fully loaded top trim (F-Sport 3 denotes the top trim for Canadian cars). My current car is also a 2019 IS350 F-Sport 3 AWD. I drove my 2019 for about 5 years and decided that I liked it so much that I wanted more of the same, but with the beautiful new look, Android Auto, more tech like the 360 camera, and other little stuff. I am also hedging my bets that the 2025 refresh will be a styling disaster, with L E X U S spelled out on the back and the (rumored) discontinuation of the V6. As for other cars in the class, I am completely disinterested in anything with a turbo 4 popper. There are faster cars for less money, but that's all they really bring to the table. There is more to a car than just outright 0 - 100 kmh times, and that's where the IS350 truly shines.
I’m super torn between this and the Acura TLX Advance package I was leaning toward the Lexus, but you made the TLX sound so much better in your review of it, so now I’m torn
What people need to get over is the touchpad, ive never had issues using it, its no different than flicking around the menu on a game console with a controller. Not to mention the pre touchscreen display was so well designed into the dashboard that the touchscreen really does look tacked on.

Cant believe Lexus thought a 3800 lb car would be potent enough with 311 hp and yet sell it and market it as a class above what that PTW would come out to.
I do like the stance these cars have right from the factory. I've seen a bunch of this new generation in my area and they sit real nice. In my anecdotal experience, it looks like a bunch of people spring for the FSport model because of the sporty look. I think this segment is good competition for the 3 series BMW. However, the M340i wipes the floor with the FSport is350. I prefer the exterior styling of this particular IS over the 3 series but I prefer the performance of the 3 series over the IS. The interior of the 3 series LCI is better than the interior of the IS.
These are not in the 20’s for a used 350 f sport. In my area used 350 f sports are going for 40-44k with 5-20k miles on them. Cheapest one I found was 38k with 25k miles.
I love the IS350 and I love Lexus. But what I never understand is the bias against for the Lexus IS and the bias against the Infiniti Q. Both the Q and the IS are Japanese, made in Japan and dated. But I would argue the Lexus is more dated, with an engine from 2006 while the Q has an engine from 2016. The Infiniti is also a faster car. The Infiniti is also better equipped as standard and packaged out. If you were buying a car in this price range, the Infiniti Q is the better buy. The only thing the Lexus has over the Infiniti is reliability.
Someday I hope to be able to afford one of these used when they come off the lease. Hopefully I can get one with the parking assist cameras, red seats and sport + mode
My local 7-11 owner got one delivered a few weeks back- he wanted to see how it performed so i took my Volvo (2108 s90 t5 with heico and Hilton tuning upgrades ) out to the track. My car was 29k with 7k of upgrades to date.
People will pass on this car because its "old and outdated", not as fast as some others in the same class" blah blah...but they're missing something very big. This along with the RC and IS500 are the LAST of old school Japanese...but old school done right. There is nowhere else you can get a naturally aspirated V6 or even V8 on a car this size, and those are some of the best engines ever designed and built. you always seem to get the AWD model. The RWD one is drastically better with the 8-speed transmission
Good quality all around. It's just really starting to show its age at this point
one of the best looking lexus' ever built. Shame its not available in the UK.
Because uk is poor
That steering wheel is amazing
The way you review these cars is great.
Funny i was talking about the cruise control stalk last week. it’s so simple and perfect.
Really like the simplicity and function of the interior layout
I test drove the GS F
two days ago, and now I’m not sure I can ever be thrilled by the 350 😂
How was it ? Looking into getting one
@@grandmastagrimm8773one beautiful machine, buy one and you won’t regret. Lexus is unrivaled
I recently got one at 10% off from MSRP, the Mark Levinson is probably the best in the mid size sedan segment, the car is nice and comfortable. I do also have a GR86 when I want something more engaging.
@@username8644 I meant when I need something more engaging than IS350, I use my GR86. 😁
@@username8644he said he “ also “ has a gt86 for when he needs something more engaging
@@username8644 I think you read it wrong.
@@WhatisaLee True thanks
Only thing mine doesn’t have is the ML audio, which my girlfriend RX350 has. Best audio I’ve ever heard personally, but the stock one is good too.
One of the best cars on the road. If you disagree you don't know a damn thing about cars
I have the 22 F Sport and absolutely love it!
Shopped one of these against a TL type S and a G70 3.3t. The Lexus was by far the least performance oriented but if it was my $60k (it wasn't), I'd have went with the Lexus for a variety of reasons.
what did you end up with? I picked up a g70 3.3T a couple weeks ago, loving it so far
@@TheGamingDead14 congratulations 🎉
@@TheGamingDead14Same here
Chris, The technology on the IS 350 may not be best in class but the quality certainly is.
I really like this Lexus. But at 61k, I'd go to the is500 with the v8
Is 500 would be far more than 61 out the door though lol. You’re looking at 71 out the door with some upgrades, taxes, and titling bruh.
love the is350. still driving the 2006 lexus is350. a little beat up but still runs like a champ!
Underrated asf
If you're handy and can diy most of the maintenance, you can get a used 350 for 1/3 of the original price with 60-80k miles. Those vehicles are made to last a good 200-300k miles with proper maintenance.
i bet 60% of the people who come back here are doing so because of the POV, the view is just incredible
I really wish you could get to have the rear drive version! The dynamics of driving are so different, and I’d love to hear your opinions on them.
I got a 350AWD with everything but the shade & mark levinson sound system(my moms had it and I know I’m missing out) [white interior with the atomic silver exterior]
for $53k out the door with all of lexus’ wheel/paint/interior protection packages included.
Congrats!
So jealous! From the UK
You should give the Volvo S60R a shot. It’s an awd sedan but i think lots of people would love to see a review if you could get your hands on one
Is it weird that I can now tell the difference between Topher and Substitute Topher by which arm i see reach for the ignition?
I like the bonus footage at the end.
Still prefer the 3 series xdrive’s over this all day long. Glad Lexus is still staying in the review cycle but they really need to turn it around tech and specifically transmission wise to compete at the price.
Love my RX 350L, But for a fast luxury compact 4door, this IS can't compare to the thrills that the B58 turbo inline 6 that the m340i provide
dude you keep on reviewing the AWD’s, the 8 speed in the rwd completely changes the car
The old Lexus seats are the best. I wish my Mazda had them
I just ordered a 2024 IS350 F-Sport 3 AWD, fully loaded top trim (F-Sport 3 denotes the top trim for Canadian cars).
Great video as usual. My only recommendation: pick a different audio test song please for the love of god.
I’m super torn between this and the Acura TLX Advance package
I was leaning toward the Lexus, but you made the TLX sound so much better in your review of it, so now I’m torn
Acura easily. Toyota/Lexus is boring lol.
I test drove the Lexus but ended up leaving with a TLX Type S for cheaper, and already have mods on it. Much faster.
Great choice as well. I went for the lexus just because im a fanboy.
The front end of this IS looks so agressive - I love it. Too bad they discontinued them in the UK
What people need to get over is the touchpad, ive never had issues using it, its no different than flicking around the menu on a game console with a controller. Not to mention the pre touchscreen display was so well designed into the dashboard that the touchscreen really does look tacked on.
I so love the Grecian Water color,I have 2021 Caviar with black AWD IS350 FSport, I would get a 2024 if I saw one that color and was fully loaded like my car is. Its such a rare color very few have come in without special order in dealers around me
I actually like the interior of my 2019 IS350 F Sport better. Despite harsh reviews, I think the mouse and the integrated display work beautifully. I don't care for touchscreen and the pop up display as it seems like an afterthought. Otherwise, same drivetrain any way.
very nice Classic premium midsize Sedan 👍
My favorite feature in most newer Lexus csrs has to be the automatic heated and cooled seats. Tells you all you need to know about the climate where I live 😅
It's nice but I'm not paying 61k for this. Genesis G70 V6 sport sedan is 55k
It starts at $47k, but you don’t get the hideous black on blue on white spec.
How long will the g70 last compared to this though? 10 years down the line...
@@evangessner5152 that’s good for the 2nd and 3rd hand buyers but most new buyers today aren’t sticking around long enough to find out. I still daily a 98 4Runner and 99 GS400, I hear you.

Now Lexus, why not offer a performance exhaust option for the IS 500? 😂 I've always liked the F Sport exhaust on the IS 350 for offering a little more sound without being obnoxious - would do wonders for the IS 500.
Is350 goes back to 07. 10-15’ had convertibles (my car)
Topher has to get his hands on one, their so fun
The Bridgestone Potenza sport summer tires have much more grip. I had those on my GS 350 Fsport
Mines the same color with the red seats. Everywhere I go people make comments about it.
My new 2022 350awd was 50 grand paid 49k.
I felt at 49k. It was a fantastic value
Another awesome video!!
The video of the Lexus is 350 f sport is the color. Includes a dashcamara. I like the frunk and the trunk. I like the fordige 19 inch wheels. Last,I like the inside of the seats color white so I'm using this.
absolutely love the car
Bonus,I like the key fob. It is nice. I like the touchpad too.
Love the video! You should do the Integra Type S again!
I like this car but I ultimately went with the M240i xDrive for the B58 and ZF transmission. The interior also feels more modern.
This is exactly the same as 2015 Lexus IS 350 F Sport but its sold at 2x the price...
The only thing the Lexus has over the Infiniti is reliability.
yes exactly the most important thing 😂
Great drive train, Nice body, but the interior was never these things cup of tea.
Lexus is a great car!
Someday I hope to be able to afford one of these used when they come off the lease. Hopefully I can get one with the parking assist cameras, red seats and sport + mode
Why is everyone always testing the awd version. The rwd version has the 8 speed and is much more nimble.
My local 7-11 owner got one delivered a few weeks back- he wanted to see how it performed so i took my Volvo (2108 s90 t5 with heico and Hilton tuning upgrades ) out to the track. The lexus has a horrid midrange and lost each lap by almost 6 seconds average. Top speed was also a dream as it was limited to 125 mph and I could walk away from him given enough real estate. My car was 29k with 7k of upgrades to date.
I cant wait for mine
Would you get this or the TLX ?
Tlx
TLX
Never is going to be bettern than a series 3 or m3
People will pass on this car because its "old and outdated", not as fast as some others in the same class" blah blah...but they're missing something very big. This along with the RC and IS500 are the LAST of old school Japanese...but old school done right. If you buy one brand new you can probably get at minimum a decade of driving with nothing more than regular maintenance...something tells me the same wont be possible with EV's or even ICE cars with turbos and tons of tech wizardy. There is nowhere else you can get a naturally aspirated V6 or even V8 on a car this size, and those are some of the best engines ever designed and built. In fact I'm not sure a naturally aspirated V8 (even V6 is a maybe) is available at even twice the price.
No blue jeans inside with that white spec!
Dated interior? It looks like a new car to me. What exactly is expected? More screens? Don't people complain about that stuff?
I don’t understand that either. Looks awesome and functional to me. Hate screens everywhere and bigger and bigger they’re getting.
And when they change the interior, people will complain that it's not like the old one and ask to change it back
They want bigger iPads. iPad screen to replace the windshield
When you sit in this interior, it will totally change your mind. It exhumes class and sophistication.
@@venictos uhh Ive been in this car plenty of times. its 2010 everytime I get in it. How can you ppl really not see how dated this thing is. It has a CD Player for crying out loud. Im not saying thats bad but shows how they havent changed this thing in over a decade.
Not a fan of the interior, but the exterior performance and engine are great!
Oh ma god this car is so beautiful..
Something abt Lexus that makes my knees weak... I love this brand fr.
Edit: Oh ma god these poeple that don't know how to merge...why you cruising while merging. geto out the way lady
Great car, I was thinking about this or the BMW 330i
I had the new 330i for four days while wife's x3 was getting services. 330 is fast. But, seats way to firm as is the suspension. Touch screen for everything. Fake exhaust sound is very obnoxious- not sure if there's a way to turn it off. I am glad I got to drive it for an extended period of time; will not consider buying it. You need to drive both for awhile. No quick test drives.
@@ed52369 Thanks for the comment Ed. That's really how it is with BMW, I do like the Lexus is 350 more however the 330i does in fact have better miles per gallon compared to the 350. I drive for Lyft and Lyft has this selection of cars they deem to be on the more luxurious side compared to other cars. Both the is 350 and the 330i I believe are considered premium, meaning I would get paid more if I were to do Lyft rides in one of these cars.
Great review! I know you test drove the 2021 TLX. I was wondering which sound sounds better, ELS or the Mark Levinson
