I'm a SAHM of 4 boys, living with a chronic illness. I also have a special needs child who suffers with ADHD, anxiety and High Functioning Autism.
My name is Meredith (aka Meri) and I'm a stay at home mom of 4 boys (including twins). I also suffer from an autoimmune disease called Sjogren's Syndrome, which makes each day a little more challenging. I am also the mom of an ADHD ODD, Asperger's child.
Like most of you out there, I'm just a regular (crazy) chic trying to survive as a mom. I'm far from perfect, but I do my best to get through each day while keeping everyone alive. I also share what works for me for managing the day to day madness of being a family of 6.
Please feel free to leave me feedback. I love to hear from everyone!

Thank you very much for this video, it helped me a lot especially to know we're all not alone. When you said depression "comes from all things I'm not anymore" and "grieving for person I used to be and the person I feel I should be right now," I couldn't have said it better. It encapsulates the feelings perfectly since it's not just the physical pain, it's the emotional. Part of living with an illness is becoming upset because of what you're missing or what could have been. Many people, too many to count, live with debilitation and acceptance of your life and what you CAN do is key. I wish you all the best.

I have primary Sjogren's syndrome and have been practicing Buddhism for over 12 years before I got the diagnosis and the major symptoms. there's many practices within the Buddhist pantheon which can be very helpful for people with chronic illnesses pain. If you need any guidance on this I'll be happy to help

The study of Buddhism has been with me for several years and it helps me a lot! So I hope that it will be helpful for you too! Best regards from Germany,

The symptoms you are describing in this video sound exactly like mine. Doctor also thought I had MS, but turns out I have Hypermobile Elhers-Danlos syndrome and Dysautonomia. This is a very under-recognized genetic connective tissue disorder. It took 15 years for me to find my diagnosis. This disorder does not show up in lab-work and MOST doctors are not well-educated on it. I realize this is an older video. If you have any questions about hEDS, please reach out to me. hEDs patients often have Sjorgrens-like symptoms and/or have an autoimmune disorder in addition to. You should see a geneticist if you have not done so already. Thanks for sharing. Take care.

Hi there. I have primary Sjogrens, among other things, and have been watching your videos for awhile. I am also not religious but have found a lot of principles from Buddishm to be something that has helped me feel a little more grounded when life feels out of control, without the pressure to be religious. I have been listening to a podcasts by Jonathan Foust and they are wonderful. I would highly recommend them. Also, Toni Bernhard is a author with chronic illness who also comes from a Buddhist point of view. Everytime I watch your videos I can relate. Hugs!

Hope your flare will be over soon. The b!tch book is a really good idea! I get annoyed being around people... I really have a hard time on that aspect. I cope by finding really small things that I like: having my coffee, walk in the forest, listening to my kids laughter, reading, my dog, etc. I was a Jackie suscribers... I was really shock and my stomach turned upside down when I heard the news. I was like slap in the face...

Well in Canada you have to wait 6 to 12 months to see a specialist. And then another 6 to 12 months for procedure or whatever.

It’s not that different here in the US. The healthcare process here takes an eternity if you want to see the right doctor and IF AND ONLY IF you can afford it. I have gone through almost 5 doctors now only because I pay a hefty price for insurance. This makes me unable to afford ANYTHING else a normal person is able to afford like clothes and food, rent, etc so I have to live with immediate family out of desperation. After almost a year now the specialists still cannot give me a diagnosis and meanwhile my symptoms got worse and so I feel worse than I did before.

I love Dr Joe Dispenza...you can find his videos on YT. He teaches similar mind & body strategies for coping with chronic illness, stress, anxiety, etc. Some self care tools I find helpful is aromatherapy ( defusing wild orange) really lifts my spirits. I have also been enjoying the jelly face masks from lush. I almost always do a Walmart grocery pick up...so I can save my energy for other things.

I hate what your therapist suggested... the reality thing is you r not negative .... you are in a real struggle .... they can’t resolve it I hate this cognitive stuff that is just like trying to ignore the reality you have

Try and do a GoFundMe or something and try umbilical cord stem cells at the world stem cell institute or the place mel Gibson went to in Panama. Post your journey and results. We all need hope.

Iam in the same boat as you with neck and back spine issues. So far mj has been the best if what your using isn't working try something else. Currently Iam still on the pain meds and want off so much. Shots in spine no longer an option. Jackie's passing was a shock, her feeding tube wrapped around her ins tines and cut them off they died and she died of septic shock. Sadly in hospital at time and as we know if you have many issues they don't always look at things that are happening. Hoping your summer improves and you see a benefit from shots.

True spiritual teachers have been literally live saving to me. (not a religion) When Oprah introduced many of us to A NEW EARTH and Eckhart Tolle, my life changed. now many seminars are free here on YT! His teachings are extremely articulate, honest, and hopeful, and nothing like hardcore "inspirational speakers". I highly recommend him to anyone who has not very familiar his teachings. A NEW EARTH a great place to start, and there is still the discussions after each chapter here on YT!
