Some top notch consumer advice here: My girlfriend and I booked this itinerary out of pocket, so we combed the internet for the best flights. This segment was part of a longer YYZ-LHR-HEL-PEK itinerary that came to half the price of what a YYZ-LHR ticket would have been. I booked this with Finnair on their website, and was surprised to learn that BA charges a 150 USD fee for advanced seat selection in business. $150 per person. We didn't give in to this blatant act of daylight robbery, and took our chances with seats during online check-in. So, if you're travelling as an inseparable couple or with your offspring, be warned.
@@jasonm9193 When I called in and asked if they will do anything to accommodate this request, the agent replied that they will not move passengers around if there are no adjacent seats. So I guess not.
They will seat families together. I’ve never fallen for their advance seat selection gimmick (daylight robbery agree) - but all three times, my family of four was seated together
Vicarious Voyager ... Swiss charges for the “throne” seats in Business. Yes, I pay it ... because even though I might like my seat mate, I enjoy my privacy 👍🏻
How are you not one of the largest travel and/or aviation lifestyle influencers on RUclips? I spent literally my entire day yesterday and another 3 hours today watching your videos. Absolute mental! Keep it up brotha!
I tried. I really resisted. But he's the GOAT. Too informative, too entertaining, too intelligent. He's everything I was missing in a trip report, but at the same time, everything I didn't know I needed. What a legend.
8:01 I met Manjit who checked me in at the desk in Toronto. What an absolute gem of a man, highly educated and extremely polite. Thank you for your wonderful customer service at YYZ and hope we meet again soon.
I've watched the takeoff scene 5 times! It's epic.... love your take on everything. The music choices are wonderful. Thank you for all of this, you make us all smile and long to travel again.
Great report, sarcasm delivered without missing a beat! Excellent. I don't know how I got here, but I love to fly, and was somewhat shocked to see a travel report! I quickly checked the date of your postings, and alas, it's a pre-covid report, a year old. Amazing what a difference a year makes. I've never done BA business class, it really doesn't look overly exciting, apart from the Suite. In a different lifetime, I've flown Qatar from Houston to Doha and on to Singapore. Talk about being spoiled! Spectacular service, spectacular food, spectacular wine list, amazing closed door suite. I'm a customer for life, if I ever get my life back... And the A350 is an amazing machine to travel in. So, thanks for a great report.
You're the man VV. Thanks for another great video. The takeoff and climb part was indeed very pretty. You did well for keeping the whole thing. Cheers!
Over the past year and a half, I've been watching a ton of these travel videos, mainly due to the pandemic and not being able to globetrot myself as I am used to doing--and so what the hell else is there to do at home but live vicariously? No matter how many of your competitor's videos I watch, I find that I am drawn back to yours; they are, without a doubt, the best. Not only are they incredibly informative (almost to the point of overkill, but hey, when it comes to world travel, too much info is always better than not enough), but I also truly love the "peppering" of salty language and your deliciously wicked and dry sense of humor. Not that you needed another one, but count me as a fan.
Man, so glad I found your channel. Such laughs 😂 And, bonus material in the form of magic! I'm surprised no one else has mentioned that sly dawg reverse drop manouver at 17:23 - classy 😏
The take off in this vid with the sun setting was absolutely gorgeous!! So glad you included this. "Prescription for alcohol poisoning" 😂🍷just what the good Dr ordered👍 "White Privilege Company" your one liners just keep on flowing along with the wine. 👏 love it.
Great take off vision AND music...loved it !! Glad your nuts were warm !! (Sorry) Pretty good flight by the look of things !! Thanks for yet another great review and I look forward to your next adventure whenever that might be in these most troubling times !!
Love your videos man. Keep up the great work. Biggest thing that sets you apart from other reviewers is your frankness and no-bullshit attitude. Cracks me up.
Another outstanding vlog- BA looked extremely comfortable and a far superior service than what people normally say about their club. Thanks for sharing!
This is the second time I’ve watched this. I really enjoy our editing, graphics, and humor. I know this isn’t your full time gig, so I really enjoy that you are sharing your trips with us. And great use of Comic Sans. Reminded me of 1997.
Omg you crack me up!! You show me absolutely everything I want to see in the first in business class cabin and you make me laugh ~ a perfect combination
Love your trip report. The takeoff roll was specular; excellent choice of background mood music with it too. Found your channel from RUclips recommendations of your Swiss airline flight and made my way progressively through your entertaining but informative trip reports. This might be your level best, with the sunset takeoff clip!
Especially enjoyable during such extraordinary times; planning travel for when the pandemic ends... Hopefully w/o needing a vaccine because frankly don't trust the speed it's been rushed through and the orange baffoon rethoric pushing FDA approvals. So may have to wait longer before flight than others :(
Does anyone know who that song is by (and the name of the song) that is played for the takeoff scene (between 8:00-10:00)? It sounds sort of like Kirill Richter. I’m pretty sure it’s not, just similar. Thank you.
Loving you work sir. A great mix of humour, balance and good insight from a regular business traveller makes these videos a great watch. And the PowerPoint presentation really made me chuckle. SUBSCRIBED!
Love your reviews. Just flew A93 from LHR to YYZ and the service was PAINFULLY slow. 90 minutes for drinks to be serviced! 2.5 hours into the flight I received my starter. I too was also seated in 9A and the forward cabin was only 50%full. LOVE the new seating which is by far the best business class seat. However the forward galley is WAY too small to service the number of passengers. During meal service the forward lavatories were locked and this is due to the fact there isn't enough room. It really shouldn't take 3 hours to get your meal. Cabin crew were really hassling to try and serve everyone. Crew confirmed the lack of galley space is the problem.
Just discovered this Channel Thanks to YT recommendation! Just top notch content! And funny! Congratz my man! I’ve just watched Maybe 10-15 Videos the last 2 days! Keep flying high!
Love love LOVE your reviews with that sassy slight sarcastic touch. I sure appreciate it as many MANY others are way too pompous and entitled! Looking forward to your next ones.
Every time you show your humour, I can’t stop myself whispering DLLM (if you know what that means in Cantonese). Love your humour and the choice of background music!! Subscribed!
Let me start by saying I am new to your channel. You are by far one of my favorite you tubers to watch now. Your intro, itinerary and flight was a pleasure to watch along with your sense of humor..on point!! Lol Thanks for sharing and I look forward to many more ❤
I enjoyed your humor again this is the flight to Heathrow when you forgot to turn on the camera in the bathroom you’re really great I like it I like to watch you thank you
I’m so happy I found your channel one of the best aviation channels out there also that light button on the seat control panel is meant to control the brightness of the reading light.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Editing these have become quite a relaxing pastime for me now, so I'm not trying too hard to get new subs. I'm just appreciative that there are people out there who are entertained by my content. Thanks again!
A video suggested to me by the RUclips algorithms that I thoroughly enjoyed. Worth it for your sense of humour alone. You made me laugh quite a few times. This cabin does look to be a big improvement over the previous setup but I really do wonder why BA didn't specify higher walls and doors. Pretty much all of the reviews I've seen comment on the relatively low height and that only 10 or 15cm higher would have been enough to avoid seeing the top of everyone else's heads in most cases.
Flew out Nov 1/2019 and on the same A350 but in upgraded economy. The aircraft had a computer malfunction in the guidance system and 3 hour delay departing YYZ to swap computers and get us back on our way. A350 was about 3 weeks old at that point, one might think the guidance system computer would be a bit more reliable. Maybe it's just me, second time that's happened with the same computer, different aircraft! The flight itself was smooth, combination of strong jet stream and a bit more fuel burn we made up about half the lost time when we landed at Heathrow.

This channel is a hidden gem. So glad I was randomly recommended one of your videos. Been hooked since
Same!
Yeah, it’s a real treat
Agreed
Yessir!
Same here
4:50 "I'm 181cm or for you Americans 181cm" I love it :)
Love it xD
Cracked me up 🤣
Yea suck to be 5 foot 20 inches. Not.
I laughed at that one because only a dick or a slope would use cm to state their height. It's a meter eighty one, anything else is for idiots.
Keep’em out of the loop, I say.
“If you don’t want a disease, fly economy”
Well hasn't this aged well.
Literally laughed out loud at the bathroom PPT 😂
Never have I laughed and smiled so much through any airline review! You are an absolutely splendid content creator. I’m so glad I found your channel

“I did wonder as to whom was the recipient of the other half of my bagel.” Thanks for the entertaining review!
Love that takeoff. Literally said "wow" as the plane turned to show the sunset!
20:20 Mentions social anxiety and then says who am I kidding, I don’t have social anxiety 😂! Nerd with a spot on sense of humour.
I tried. I really resisted. But he's the GOAT.

Your video is not only so informative - your sense of humor is incredible. I lost it at "The white privilege company" Got a new subscriber!
Thank you, I’m glad you found my shenanigans entertaining.

Thanks VV for your flying comedy show, which deals with the reality of flying different airlines without mercy and gets you to work.
....and here in comes the tale of "The missing half bagel". Great vid, thanks! 😀
This guys humor is so nerdy. And I love it.
Best take off I’ve seen on any vid. Nice work, love the video’s you do , keeps us all entertained 😂👍
The takeoff view was breathtaking!
I have just gotten into travel report videos and really enjoyed this one. Dry humour is the best.
Love the use of footage reversing at 17:17 , very very slick.
The best produced flight review video I’ve ever seen.

The take-off sequence was beautiful! I would love to know the piece of music you used.
"Portobello Road" - David Celeste
It almost sounded like the soundtrack from downton abby
@@caseydykes117 i knowww right! I was just thinking that!
I loved this sequence, music well chosen.
Amazing sense of humor and very articulate. One of a kind trip vlogger and the best.Truly entertaining and information.Kudos!

A great video. Very well produces with loads of information. Loved your presentation style and sense of humour. I have subscribed.👍🏻
What is the music that begins 8:02 onwards?
A pen in the amenity kit should be standard for intl flights. Great idea for BA to add one!
What a beautiful takeoff! Thanks for it! Made my day.

Love the way you ran the video backwards when showing the bed linens . That’s quality editing. 👍
